London is very much England.

London's diversity and multiculturalism is a new thing, as is the majority of Europe's. It's also relatively low compared to the total population in those places.

It isn't on New York's level when it comes to things like this, and I'm not one of those people who is impressed with everything New York or think they do everything better than everybody else.

But some things they definitely do better and have more of. This is one of those things. New York is London 2.0 in a lot of ways.

You thought I was saying that England was only London. In reality, I was saying that London is very much A PART of England.

 

That is what causes a lot of problems on here, people write down what they MEAN to say. BUT, in reality, what they have wrote is something completely different.
As you have pointed out, what you meant to say was that London is a PART of England. BUT by NOT writing this when you originally posted your comment, your statement can be grossly mis-interpreted and mis-understood.

Distant Lover is another member who is very keen on this style of posting. If you scroll back through his posts, in reference to the high violence and low education in the Black community. You will find that he ALMOST always gives the impression, that his statistics and way of thinking means that EVERY Black person is not as well-educated and more violent than Whites.
Distant Lover, either on purpose or by not reading his post through before submitting it, seems to leave out the word "MOST" in his comments. If Distant Lover took the time to add this word in a lot of his posts, then a lot more people would agree with his conclusions.
As people have told Distant Lover, it is NOT his facts that are in question BUT his interpretation and conclusions also the way he presents them.

What does 'England' and 'English' mean to you? You obviously have very strong views on the connotations and implications of the words, so it'll probably be instructive to pit your point of view against people who were born, brought up, and live over here.

[Edit] You also say you know the US is better 'for a fact'. Could you elucidate the methodology and, most importantly, the reference system you've used, explained in detail, that allows you to quantify greatness (and any other supplementary qualities that go towards making your decision)?

I mean, if you can't, then it's going to sound like empty invective. It's going to sound like you saying, "It's a fact because - because it's a fact!" and people around here, as I'm sure you know, don't take kindly to that.

In short: if you want to make a scale of greatness of country/city (which you are doing, by placing the US at the top) then you need benchmarks, you need systems of measurements (and units of measurement), as well as some kind of method of converting data into numbers that aggregate towards a final score.

What baller does not realise is that London was a melting pot of immigrants years before the USA was even invented, what he considers to be ethnicity is Irish American, Italian American, et al, the problem is that when they show their passports it always shows American and truly the majority of these ethnics have never visited the motherland.
There is a primary school near me where they have 27 different languages spoken natively, that is diversity and not saying your mother makes sauce like they do in the "Old Country", which they can never point out on the map.

England as been absorbing immigrants since the days of the Roman empire and we collected folk from every corner of Europe, Africa and Asia.

I'm sorry but no matter how much you may want London to be on New York's level, it NEVER will be.

Your city, of 600 square miles, even now is still 60% ENGLISH white. New York, on the other hand, has very little native population because almost all of America's native population was wiped out, so our "native" population is made up of every ethnicity under the sun. English, Irish, French, Dutch, Swedish, African-American, Indigenous Americans, Polish, Germans, Italians, Jewish, and a few others are at the core of our earliest population, and the MAJORITY of that is NOT English or French or Dutch or Swedish. The MAJORITY of our white population anywhere on the East Coast is Irish and Italian, and they all came from poor immigrants.

On top of that melting pot, one that has existed for centuries, there came many many waves of new ethnicities and new immigrants.

So no, London is not now nor will it EVER be on New York's level in this regard. I don't care what you have to say about it; it's true regardless.


Oh, and my township alone has over 100 cultures and over 50 languages spoken inside of it. Stop trying to act like you're even remotely more multicultural than the US because you NEVER will be.
