Chapter 15

Hi Rhi.
I guess I/m uneducated and shallow cause I loved chapter 15. You decide your stories, not the readers. If they want something they can write it themselves. You are one the best writers on this site and lots of others will agree with me. Take your time, go where you need to and tell YOUR story.
Lots of us will be waiting for another chapter or a new story line. I honestly check daily to see if you have anything up. Over anticipating I guess but always worth the wait.

Rhi, I'd like to see Brian plan some revenge against the creeps that assaulted Alexis in college. I'd like to hear more about what he's doing with Courtneys Kids and see if Jenny ends up as a friend or gets cut out. I'd like to know if the Timmons are still involved with Brians life. I agree with others that say Ashley should return home and let the newlyweds live their lives. I'd like to see Alexis continue with her career, and perhaps throw themselves a big wedding party after the fact. You never indicated what happened with Ashley when the house was turned over to her. Its refereshing to read something about professional athletes that don't go out and waste their money (even if its fiction), so keep Brian humble. I would not bring Stephanie back into the picture as it was so long ago, but what happened with Paige?

Glad to hear you survived Isaac with minimal effect. I wish you the best, and lok forward to either another chapter or a new story line soon.

This story is one of the best I have ever read and I cannot wait for you to post another chapter and I really hope you do post another chapter

Just remember you cannot please everybody and no matter what events happen in the story it will still be one of the best on here and would be a shame for you not to finish it because of a few emails about the story =[

Thanks for all the positive feedback, I am actually writing the conclusion to the story as we speak. I learned a valuable lesson during this story by trying to make all the readers happy, it cannot be done. From now on, I write my way, like it or not. I hope to have the story posted soon, I've just been so busy lately, I barely have time for myself. I thank everyone for their support and encouragement. Take care and be safe.

 

well come on i read chapters 9 to 15 in a day and been waiting a month for 16 get a move on already

 

Good for you, I listen to all the comments given by my readers and some of them have actually reshaped my direction at times. But in the end I always write my stories my way. It's like DC says write them for the reader inside yourself. I always say that only you are the best judge of were the story needs to go so only you can write it. Suggestions are great and should be heard but not strictly followed.

Can't wait to see how it all comes to an end I'm sure it will be a great ending to one of the greatest stories on this site. Your a true master of storytelling and I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

I just posted the conclusion and epilogue to "A Game Of Inches." I hope everyone enjoys it and finds the ending to their satisfaction, I feel good about it myself. Once again, I want to say thank you to all of the great people here who have supported this story over the past few months. I have learned so much from writing this porject, I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate your comments and emails. Probably the biggest lesson I take from "Inches" is that I should stay true to myself, no matter how much the readers want me to possibly deviate from my intended story line. I did that in Chapter 15 and I paid the price for it. While I will always listen to you, the reader's input, I now will draw out and formulate a story line with my own goals in mind. I thank everyone for the personal emails, I tried to answer each of them, I think I did. I am formulating a new story in my head at this time, it will have an unusual story line, but I think it might be fun. Take care and stay safe everyone.

Thank you, you found that emotional connection in ch16 that you had in 1-14 I found it to be one of the best ever, I'm sad to see the story end but overjoyed you went out on your own terms with a level of emotion that made the rest of the series amazing, so before i go thank you again. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

It was a great and very touching ending to an amazing story.

 

I want to personally thank everyone for the amazing feedback I received for the Conclusion of "A Game of Inches", it was simply incredible. I also want to thank everyone who gave me negative feedback when you felt I deviated from my story. At first, i was tempted to abandon it, but then I realized that had I not tried to please everyone, it would not have happened. Now I will outline a story prior to writing, I will stay true to my plot, even though the readers opinions will still be considered. Some of the comments posted for the Conclusion, expressed concern that I should have expanded my conclusion to include what happened to Ashley, Mr. & Mrs. Timmons, their daughter Gia, Coach Mike, and well as several other characters. I could have probably did that, but it would have taken many more chapters to conclude and I felt , along with support from many of the veteran writers on the site, it was time to end it. So I kept it simple, to the point, and what I wanted. I feel good about the ending, as I think most of the readers do. I can't thank you guys enough for all of the encouragement you have given me through both of my stories. This is very new to me and I am overwhelmed and humbled by your support and kind words. I am formulating a new sotry now, I hope to start writing it next month. For now, everyone please , take care and stay safe.

An excellent story, as has been said many times before both in this thread and in comments after the chapters as well.
For any future stories, I would recommend adding tags to them. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this yet, but unless I misunderstand the search system here your stories will soon be lost to oblivion without them. Game of Inches does not deserve to just fade away due to a simple oversight like that.
I have to ask, do you have a Psych background? Some of the things people are most upset over are exactly what real people do in those situations. Specifically, sex with Stephanie and Courtney's second break-up. For the record, in a real-life scenario I'd probably back Courtney if that happened. That statement, no doubt, requires an explanation.
He stayed at school over Spring Break in order to study and continue his training. Both are things he's capable of doing at home, while also seeing Court. Yet he chose not to.
Look at it from her point of view for a few minutes. Was she lying when she said he met someone else? Probably not; look of the definition of "lie" in a dictionary. It requires intent to mislead or deceive. She likely believed it to be true. After all, the guy she loves dearly just passed up an opportunity to see her for the first time in months, for virtually no reason. This is incomprehensible to her, and she has to believe there is a reason behind it, and another woman is a logical reason she can understand.
If she believed it, even if it was untrue, then her stating he met another woman had no intent to mislead, QED it wasn't a lie.

Oh sorry redeemed, I forgot to answer your question. I did play football in both high school and college, and yes it was the SEC. I do not have a Pysche background, although my wife had often told me I am "mental". I did try out for a team in the NFL, but was cut early on, I was not gifted with athletic ability as others were. This is my second attempt at a story on here, I have to say I am humbled by all the postive support I have received. I have just started my third story, I am about three chapters in.
I basically wrote "Inches" making Brian Stevens a throw back character to the old days. A young man who respected others, had feelings, and thought about actions before comitting them. I had some people tell me if was wiashy washy dribble, but for the most part people seemed to enjoy it.
