Homemade meatloaf- made with a blend of ground beef, pork and veal, noodles, roasted brussel sprouts with bacon & nutmeg.

Last night we had roasted chicken with Herb de Provence liberally sprinkled all over and inside the chicken. Corn with minced jalapeño peppers



note: If your chicken comes with the giblets and neck.... Put the chicken neck in a pan with some water and whatever spices/ herbs you seasoned the chicken with.. Simmer the entire time the chicken is baking. Then you have some stock to make your pan gravy with.

 

Well, I guess I should probably eat something. Might resort to chicken and rice. Chicken and rice is always good on a Tuesday. Is it Tuesday?

I'm guessing 'dressed' mean exactly that only when applied to grilled cheese sandwiches right? I mean, dressed lobster wouldn't include sliced tomatoes or parsley would it?

Would it? To be honest, I'm such a savage I have no idea. I can barely dress myself let alone a sandwich...

 

"Dressing" is the preferred term for "Stuffing" in the Southern US vernacular. What rr called a "dressed" sandwich would be called a "stuffed" sandwich, in some other regions. In NOLA, when you order a Po'boy, the counterman will ask if you want it dressed. A dressed Po'boy has tomato, lettuce and the like added.

To me it is a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato and parsley.

But they all taste exactly the same.

 

Can you use the words Roasted and Baked interchangeably? Or can you only use one term for certain things cooking process?

Roast-
Turkey, beef, chestnuts

 

Who cares!?!?! As long as I have turkey, beef, bread, cakes, chestnuts and Alaska I'm a happy man. :excited:

 

My mother always told me that the difference between baking and roasting is whatever you want to call cooking in an oven.

But my nephew, the chef, says that roasting generally involve the caramelization of the outside surface of the item being cooked.

Example: You bake a potato in it's jacket; you roast potatoes which have been peeled and coated.
