I guess it depends; if the people involved are really hIgh functioning and could actually understand the concepts and consequences of what was happening. Maybe it would be OK.

In general, the idea of it makes me uneasy. Too many impaired people get taken advantage of on a daily basis, and not just for sexual favors.

For me personally, as the mother of a child with Fragile X Syndrome and autism, the thought makes me sick to my stomach. I would like for him to have a best friend, but the friend would absolutely have to be impaired as well. My guess is that sex I think is out of the question for him.

let me say this. i have seen, some ELDERLY folks, and PSYCH patients
( YOUNG & OLD ) display odd behavior, in the area of sex.

i have seen patients who, would talk in a sexual nature although
( rare ) for them to do, would talk about sex and moan too.
usually, they would have ALZHEIMERS/DEMENTIA as part of their
MEDICAL HISTORY.

at times, you may not see ALZHEIMERS/DEMENTIA in a person's history
at that. sometimes, it may not have been DIAGNOSED.

but, the tell tell signs are there. this also goes with PSYCH patient's.
the PSYCH patient would display some form of SEXUAL NEED and may
or may not act out on it. USUALLY THEY DO.

this seen more in WOMEN. there various levels of PSYCHOSIS.
a woman may have another personality, that may have a sexual urge,
to want to go out and have sex with a stranger, or multiple strangers
on a whim.

this may mean the use of a condom or NOT !!.

the REPERCUSSIONS of this is, her personality may switch ABRUPTLY,
and she may wonder whose the guy on her. she may re-act violently
in some way. which means, she can say YOU RAPED HER.

but, the courts will have to prove, you had some PRIOR KNOWLEDGE
of this in some way in order to prosecute YOU.

WORSE, what if she passes you a DISEASE or SEVERAL DISEASES ?.
