because at the time it was placed into law the south was not in america
and it was aimed only at the southern states
last i knew there is no legaly defined "southern states"

A man like Ron Paul will never be elected. The people that run this country have invested billions if not trillions of dollars in propaganda to insure that never happens. Even if by some miracle someone like Ron Paul were elected, he or she would be assassinated in their first year.

Lincoln did NOT free the slaves. The 13th Amendment, which was passed after his death, did that.

Depending on your point of view, if you feel the Southern Confederacy was an illegitimate nation, then Lincoln invaded his own country resulting in over 600,000 deaths to force his will upon others. If you believe it was a legitimate nation then he invaded a legal, and separate nation, using the US Armed forces illegally, accomplishing the same ends as aforementioned.

Lincoln himself stated, when asked why he would not simply allow the South to be a separate nation: "Where would we generate our revenue?". Many units in the US Federal Army mutinied when the propaganda machine started spewing out "The war to end slavery" garbage. Despite some 3,000 slaves remaining in slavery right under Lincolns nose long after the Emancipation Proc.

Face the real facts Mr. Master of Facts. "To free the slaves!" has a much better ring to it than "Because we said so!"

Lets not forget his unconstitutional income tax or his suspension of the Writ of Habeus Corpus. Do I really need to bring out his 1858 speech where he openly declares himself a racist? The guy was a pig and killed thousands of innocents in a war that should never have happened.
