Its still the same day and the link hasn't posted yet Jade, I have no problem if the CAW SOP lets you compete. But that's just my two cents.

 

I know I already posted it on my "screw up" thread... and you have probably read my wishes... but for the benefit of others this was what I said on my story thread:

He and I and a few others have actually already spoken by PM. He sent me one right after I finished my posting. He has been very supportive of me and I have already thanked him for it.

I personally feel that I screwed up. The blame is entirely on me. I do not want to have an exception made for a few reasons...

1) Everyone else can read better than me and posted on time
2) If it was done then it would just lead to one of those really annoying "Why did so and so get special treatment" threads or something similar.
3) I have a great deal of respect for wantsomefun as a person and as a writer. I would not like to see him placed in that sort of awkward position.
4) I for certain do not want to be in that sort of awkward position.

That being said thank you so much dizzyworks673, another wonderful writer, for making that kind request.

Thank you also to ahorsewithnoname for his supportive remarks by PM.

Respectfully I ask that the situation stand as it is.

 

Can we have a straw poll amongst ourselves re: JadeM's entry?

I personally have no problem with it being a few hours late, I don't believe that she has gained any unfair advantage by the delay, she simply was away for Thanksgiving and was a little late.

As far as I am concerned the call is for Black Ronin, the host of CAW 13 to decide. His call in this matter.

 

Absolutely, and I wasn't trying to put any pressure on him in any way - JadeM has very graciously asked for her entry not to be considered, but if her fellow authors have no objections then that would make any decision he might or might not have to make easier.

He asked for the link to my story and is adding it to the list. I have no idea who but others had delay issues.

JayneR - sorry if I took your comment the wrong way. I have no objections either way.

Personally, if she is not allowed to enter, why not a 'honorary duel' between her entry and that of Black Ronin's? At the least we would have a seperate, sub-competiton within the larger CAW.

I'll tell you right now, given the sheer magnitude of talent and diverse ideas in this CAW, I have no idea who will win - mind you I would like to win one, and have done the best I can with my entry (as long as it is, it may be the longest read in this CAW), its a tossup.

I knew the talent of those I call the Masters of the Masters for the forum was immense and numerous, but this CAW has shown just how far off I was on figuring what they could craft.

Mind you - I do not place myself in that high group, not yet, in a couple of years maybe. Yet it will be the readers who vote that will determine it; like with Black Ronin in CAW 12 whose win surprised him.

Personally I want to win to have some of the authors squirm - my theme would be a spring scene in a park that involves Richard Simmons.

Sometimes we all forget that the purpose of a forum is to debate issues, as it has been since Roman times.
I don't mind if someone has a different view to mine about a subject, nor if they have an opposing view (notice the differentiation between different and opposing).

That's what forums are for - its heartening that we can discuss things here as civilized adults.

Unlike GD which is an on-going all-in cage fight :grin: .

Your so right, I tend to stay away from the GD forum because its seems like all they do there is invent crap to fight about. I just gave up trying to figure out what all the fighting is about.

I mean when it comes down to it we are all just fake names and words on a screen. I don't see the point of these on going screaming matches that seem to be constantly going on, on this site. We had our own in fighting going on in the sex stories forum through a half dozen threads a few months back and all it did in my oppinion was cost us quality members and readers.

I'm glad that we can talk on this forum and be helpful to one another. I feel like we can all grow as writers if we can be honest and constructive. Negativity never helped anyone.

 

Just for the record, can a few of us entered in the CAW ensure at least once a day the contest stories are bounced to the top of the story page as a group?

I've done it a bit already, and I want to make sure all the stories have a equal chance of being read.

Personally, it would be nice if the entries could be stickied to the top for the duration of the reading and voting.

Don't get me wrong - I sometimes enjoy the unrestrained all-in cat-fight that is GD :excited: however, it's not exactly structured debate most of the time, but it's loads of fun. Sometimes.

However, here in the writer's forum I like to think that things are a bit more civil.

We're all here to write stuff, and hopefully help each other to get better at it, whilst enjoying the writing/posting process ( I know I do!).

 

That's my thoughts on the stories forum. I've learned so much from all the writers here. Thanks to all who have given me the advice and pushed me to challenge myself harder.

 

You guys don't know what you're missing in GD. Stumbler is now attacking me because of my stories. He says I'm as slow as they are.

Isn't he a wonderful guy?
