  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

That I agree, with you he spoke out of line there , but snoop dog can say the same things, and he's got white and black women screaming praises for him... Selling the shit out of those garbage CD's, and that's a double standard... But no one black or white care... Would you not agree?

Snoochies, I'm afraid after reading this, I have to bow down. You win. I admit defeat. You're right, it was wrong. Joking or no, he should've at least made sure he got across that he was joking. Got to say though, it was fun having an actual debate for once. Most people I know either get up and leave or just go "uh huh yup yup"

But, as I've also stated before, most radio stations bleep out the "ho" and "n*gga" from his songs. So if people want to hear that kind of crap they have to give up their hard earned money to do so. I say they get what they deserve.

However, what Imus said was on a free for all forum. I have yet to find a rap station (where I live) that doesn't bleep out those words. His producers should have had the same forsight.

You should see Eddie Griffin's stand-up. The man says the "N" word more in one minute then Snoop says it in a month. He says he does it to lessen the shock of the word, that people need to get over it, but after 20 minutes of his routine, where he's saying it just to fill space, even I'm embarrassed.

And while you may be one of the few enlightened ones who recognize that allowing a black person free reign to say what he wants and not white people, you are not in the majority on that. At the risk of beating it into the ground, Hip-Hop culture is the worst offender of these things and they are relatively unencumbered. It's certainly understandable for a white person to cry foul in a case like that.

And white people can't stand up to the black community about these sort of things. The minute they do, they're labeled a racist. It goes back to what I said in another thread, the only people it's okay to offend are middle-class white males. And white people take it because of white guilt.

Take the example a year or so ago of a newly elected congressman, I think it was in Tennessee. His district was almost exclusively african americans and so he thought he could better serve them by joining the Congressional Black Caucus. But he's white. He was trying to better serve the people who elected them, trying to better understand the concerns of the black community, and they kept him out because he was white. There was a big uproar among conservatives, but it was relatively brief and died down after the congressman withdrew his request. But he was kept out because of his race. In the U.S. Congress. They have a racist organization in the U.S. Congress. But people accept it because it's only discriminating against white people, and that doesn't count.

So while Imus may or may not have deserved to get fired, it is the height of hypocrisy for black people to demand it so fervently while completely ignoring the white elephant in their own living room. I'm not saying his words were okay, but to treat him differently then thousands of other people who are also in a public forum but who just happen to be black, is not okay. If it's racist, it has to be racist for all and the black community needs to clean their own house first. There's no way in hell a white person can demand it, we're still way to PC for that.

Yes, Shake, I AM in the minority among black people. But (and this is just an assumption) Imus is in the minority among white people.

I guess my whole beef with this whole issue (blacks or whites using this language) is that most of our country is TRYING to move on to a new place where this kind of crap is behind us. And while there are still MANY people who pass on hatred as a family value, it's heartbreaking to watch someone in the public eye undermine the hard work of good parents who are trying to raise their kids to be accepting and open-minded.

I know people get labeled racist if they stand up and cry out about the use of those words in black culture. But as Al and Jesse proved...if you make a big enough stink about it things can change. They too have been called all sorts of names (some even on this thread) for what they did. So although they caught less crap than most white people would expect to get, it's not as though they got away scott free. Anyhow, I'm tired of this. He's fired, it's done. When are we all (myself included) just going to let this go? Off to bed with me!

This is true, OMG but "nappy" like a lot of other words has different definitions based on how it's used....I stated this in a post above. So sometimes black people use the term nappy as an adjective. Simply referring to the state of the hair. Sometimes they use it as a derrogatory comment as Imus did. Implying dirty, smelly, and unkempt. It's like the difference between calling someone dirty (in a sexual way) and calling them dirty (in an everyday living sort of way). Or the difference between Phat and fat. Usually when a black mother is calling their kid nappy haired they're just referring to the hair. Not calling their own children dirty and smelly.

So, back to the topic. I saw on the news yesterday that Snoop Dogg said in an interview that he was appauled at what Imus said.......TALK abuot hypocracy!

They also stated (and I think this'll make most of you happy) that now that Imus had been taken care of the people behind this "movement" are turning their attention to rap and hip-hop music.

I don't know how many times I have sat back and listened to some African American on their cell phone throwing the dreded "N" word around like it is some term of enderment. The Good Rev Al and Jessie can sling slanderous negative names at any one they wish. Rappers can rap about the absolute degridation of their own race, but god forbid a white man say it. Personaly I think there is no equality left in the US. We have lost our freedom of speach a long time ago, and the press, unknowingly, has been kind enough to point that out to us.

Chances are good they'll hire him back once the heat dies down. I was reading an article that said what with all the hardships terrestrial radio is facing these days, their ratings in the toilet and a lack of bankable talent, that they might need him to fill the void. So they'll coast along and ride out the storm and chances are he'll be back on in a month or so.

There are rumors that he'll make the jump to satellite but with XM and Sirius trying to merge, they may hold off so as not to rock any boats with the Feds since they need their approval. We'll see.

For the last time, this isn't about freedom of speech. Imus is free to say whatever he likes. He just can't say it on his former employer's radio station.

Okay, I am in love with, and engaged to, a black woman. She is the love of my life, and I do not take kindly to racism, being a racist in the past [got out of it after seing how dumb it was]. But, I do not think he should be fired. He was practising free speech, and just because I don't like it, don't mean he should be fired.

True and I've always thought that was so wrong. Again it is allowing profit margins and market shares to dictate our current social values instead of adhereing to the word and spirit of our constitution.

I think Imus got fired for saying out loud what too many people were actually thinking, and he fucked up. But there does seem to be a double standard at play here. Bill Bennett is still on the air somewhere.

how many times have black people said cracker , or made fun of "white boys" or "white girls"........i have no problem with black people, but if it were a black person saying something about white people, that would have been overlooked or taken as humorous..........isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black? (pun intended)
