Donald Trump is a fucking moron just like Mitt Romney

 

I know, I know. The rich were born that way or lucky... He's a joke, and he always has been, but he makes an ass of himself for exactly the same reason that Obama is making an ass of himself in turn, on late night TV and comedy shows: narcissism. The difference with Trump is that he really is a shrewd businessman. He is the son of a slumlord, and he knocked on doors to collect rent, as a kid, in some of the filthiest sections of New York. He multiplied his dad's fortune a hundred-fold, over-leveraged himself in the eighties, dealt his way out of bankruptcy, and came out of it even stronger.

Personally I wouldn't trade my life for his-- money isn't everything, and the man must be utterly miserable. But he is not a fool. To call him a fool is just jealousy and sour grapes, nothing more.

And we'll see, before long, whether he was bluffing. Could be. Wouldn't put it past him.

But that isn't the word on the street.

 

Shrewd? Come on, let's not overstate the case. In what way has he been shrewd? He's made wrong-way bets on things much more often than he's been right - if he were truly shrewd and money were the measure of that, he ought to be rolling around in the deep end of a 10-figure asset pool. I will concede that he is an effective self-promoter, but another self-promoting TV toadie, Simon Cowell is worth more than Trump.

 

He IS bluffing. He TOLD us what he had, and it was nothing. Just like he had nothing to back up his birther nonsense, with his investigators (never produced or identified) supposedly hanging around Honolulu digging up dirt. All he has now is $5 million to waste on a fool's errand. The man is the heir of P.T. Barnum and always has been.

 

I do not know much about Occidental. I doubt Columbia and Harvard would have been fooled by a fraudulent claim of being born in Indonesia.

I do think that Barack Obama got into Columbia and Harvard because of affirmative action policies. As a reasonably intelligent, likable, attractive black man with no felony convictions he qualified for the A List of any affirmative action policy in the country.

I am disappointed in him, but I am disappointed because he did not do things that would have made you even angrier at him.

 

No matter how you get in, you still have to do the work. Occidental is a very reputable school.

The notion that he lied in some way to gain admission is pure right-wing fantasy. They have no evidence to support it -- they just conjure things like this up and demand that Obama DISPROVE it. He should ignore them...studiously.

And by the way, they would never ask such questions about an opponent who happened to be white. The entire line of questioning is racist at its core. They just can't believe that this ordinary black kid worked hard and became successful. It shatters their entire worldview.
