People do not deserve their IQs. I am opposed to affirmative action, but I am in favor of governmental efforts to reduce economic inequality because I see little moral significance in the distribution of wealth and income.

I am certain that Stumbler, Kimiko, SpJames, and any other forward inclined person would agree that competency tests are nothing but an arbitrary measure exploited by the 1% to deny people their needs.

The distribution of wealth and income, it seems to me, should be based on the needs of the individual, and not some arbitrary measure that has been proven to have no meaning.

I am in favor of a high minimum wage, strong labor unions, and a well financed public sector of the economy paid for by steeply progressive taxation. Steeply progressive taxation worked fine in the United States during the 1950s, when the top tax rate was 91 percent. All of what I am in favor of works fine in Scandinavia and Germany.

Obviously if you're a 1 percenter you're going to need the Rolls Royce where a Ford Focus would do, but your lying hypocrisy runs deeper than that because it seems to me you're forgetting it was Mittens Romney moving jobs to China that caused forward thinking entrepreneurial ventures like Solyndra and Evergreen Solar to fail here through no fault of their own and move offshore thus raising the price of solar energy for everyone just so Mittens and that lying teabagger bastard Paul Ryan could fatten their warchest and try to steal the Presidency from the American People. Memo, teabaggers: President Obama won. Get over it and move on. The price of solar and batteries is coming down already and it's going to be much more affordable especially when we put add necessary regularatory controls to all this dangerous fracking that could be poisoning our children and after we put the final nail in the coffin of Big Oil once and for all.

You're preaching to the converted, and my Forward Task List on the other thread and copied here will certainly get us to the Scandinavian social democratic model if John Boehner and all the backward anti-progressives step out of the way and let President Obama lead so he can fulfill his vision for a reconstructed socially balanced America as soon as possible.

I made money on Evergreen Solar (ESLR) as I rode the wave of solar stocks up and backed out when they headed south..Everygreen in depth was a story of rape and pillage when put under the microscope.

Evergreen Solar Files for Chapter 11 Reorganization
    ====================

I day traded it during the reorganization period and pulled out before the reverse split.

It is gone now but before going totally out of business it set up shop in China...

bottom line: China owns the solar industry...

However there is some great new technology on solar here in the US but will more than likely end up in China again.

I like solar and have been studying it for years...not here yet but it is not that far away either..

Large Solar Farms in the desert is the way to go but we have an outdated grid in the US that can not work with wind or Solar without massive infrastructure upgrades.

So you skimmed some loot off the Peoples' investment in Evergreen Solar? Good for you, but it seems to me this is a so-called accomplishment of which you should not feel particularly proud. You do realize that Evergreen Solar was largely financed by the People of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, through Commonwealth funded grants, do you not? And for you, and those of your ilk, to opportunistically grovel and grasp for profits on the backs of economically patriotic taxpayers like parasites, without even a shred of appreciation for the social and moral aspects, is in my view a backward way of thinking, most backward indeed.

Randy, there is no need for such words and thoughts in a forward thinking progressive society. Persons of means, that is who are lucky enough to have the wherewithal, should be investing in Green Energy not for the black profits they can skim, but because the cause is right.

This backward-thinking anti-social selfishness is exactly what is ruining this country, and it is exactly what President Obama needs to stamp out and put to death fast, or there will be no hope for a prosperous future.

Yep you guys have a big empty building up there...nice one too...ended up losing a lot jobs...Bond holders sucked dust also..as well as stockholders who hung on...I was the moderator on a stock forum for ESLR and I warned people to bail after I had...but only a few listened..

it could still be going if the govt had only pitched in a measly 400 more million (hey they just print it out of thin air)...I am sure under the next 4 years there will be plenty more opportunities for me from Obama....already my 5 day investment in silver has paid of handsomely...

Bottom line is the Govt Printing press print around 600 million a day....just have to figure out the best way to get your hands on it...some prefer to sit back and have it mailed to them for nothing...I like the risk on approach...

Like I said earlier, you don't seem to be able to do anything but to stereotype. This is YOUR opinion, almost 50% of the voters disagree in all or in the most part with your views. If you are correct, why did only 50.5% vote for Obama? If you are correct, why did the GOP pick up seats in the house?? If you are correct why doesn't the Democrats have a filibuster proof Senate??

You act like your won in a landslide victory, nothing cold be further from the truth.

The conservatives are not down and out, and they are not snobbish elitists, they are mostly blue collar working stiffs who are tired of the same old Democratic bullshit of getting more and more people dependent on them. It is the only way you can win seats, now the illegal alien issue has caused the Latino vote to swing to left in the last election because of fears of a Republican crackdown on illegal immigration. It is the only way you guys won the seat, giving amnesty and full benefits as citizens, for those who took the bulk of the jobs from legal citizens.

    48.2 percent voted for Romney.

51.2 percent for Obama so far. I think at the time of this posts some states are still counting.

    Republican Gerrymandering.

States are nearly evenly divided red/blue?

Oh it was a landslide. Electoral college wise. Maybe not so much in popular vote. But it's still a vote total more than that of Bush over Kerry which Bush and the rest of the Republicans then called a Mandate. It is a validation of Obama's policies and that of the Democratic party. If don't think people didn't notice the obstructionism and all the other tom fool crap that went on on your side your fooling yourself.

This right here is where you lose your argument. Mostly conservatives are inflexible in their viewpoint, uncompromising toward those views as though they are 100 percent correct when they are NOT. There are many valid views on issues in this country and to say that conservatives have the only valid viewpoint is disingenuous and wrong. Just how many conservatives would you think are on government assistance? It's way more than you think. So to point a finger at Democrats and say that ALL or even a majority of the people on government assistance are Democrats is a flat out lie.

The problem here is most conservatives don't seem to want to make the distinction between legitimate Latino citizens and illegal immigrants. Yes it's racist and you only have to look at the states of Texas and Arizona to figure it out. Republicans gerrymandered the hell out of districts in those states to minimize the Latino representation. Also Obama's administration deported more illegal immigrants in his 4 years than the Bush administration did in 8.

Everyone of your arguments is full of bullshit and meaningless hand waving.

I do not see why anyone would bother to defend the blatantly obvious: that President Obama won by a landslide and whatever consolation Mittens thinks he can find in the popular vote is just an illusion due to blatant gerrymandering and electoral fraud. President Obama won decisively. Live with it, and move aside so the grown-ups can finish fixing all the evils of the Bush years.

One more thing, because the persistent sour grapes and bellyaching nearlyh a week from this decisive landslide victory really makes me spit. Why, WHY, WHY are we still talking about a grand bargain? Why are we kissing John Boehner's shoes, just because he presides over a false fraudulent majority in the lower house of just one of the three executive branches of government?

Why do we have to work with John Boehner and the conservative/teabagger/republicans? Why do we need to cooperate?

It seems to me that any patriotic forward thinking progressive individual would agree there is nothing positive and constructive that John Boehner could bring to the table. I don't understand why we need to even listen to the Republican Party, when they caused all of the problems in the frist place. I don't understand it at all. We should just slam the door on the past and move on.

That article is from 2009. The cost has already come down considerably, to the $15K to $25K range, plus there are federal tax credits and often state and local rebates available. Here is an example of a 3kW system in Texas.

    http://www.txspc.com/documents/CPSResidentialGrid-Tie.pdf

Also, there are many companies that do lease and lease purchase programs for no money up front. The monthly payments include your power and are less than your original electric bill. The savings will get bigger as traditional electricity goes up.

I hope the Republicans can see that the tea bagging hard liners are killing their party. Their "old fashioned" ideals are not where the general population is today.

Until the Republicans can take more of a 21st century approach, by moving towards the 'moderate' center, and I don't mean a huge overhaul either in their stances. As well as work with the Democrats, I don't see them gaining a favorable standing in the US.

No there isn't much chance of that for your side. Laura Ingraham is still promoting the "Southern Strategy" even though it didn't work in Florida.

Ingraham points to Southern strategy for reforming Republican Party

Slow your roll,, I have already admitted publicly on this forum,, that the nation is in the middle of a transformation, do I agree with the way that this country wants to go,, no I dont.

I can say the same about the leftists as well,,they too,,need to come to the moderate center..

That is neither here nor there. There are 'far right' voters that live in this nation as well as there are 'far left''. In the 2010 election, there was an electoral landslide,,electing over 80 new congressman/woman that are considered 'far right', a very high percentage of those specific elected officials are still holding their seats.

TYPICAL,,,,we ALWAYS need to cater to the squeaky wheel..I totally disagree,, when the leftists held a super majority during the first 2 years of Obama's term,, the leftists had no interest in working with the Republicans..

Obviously congress needs to be more functional than it has been in the recent past,,but this is what this nation elected.
