  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

Actually I only sporadically bought them. Like the gas station 2 pack maybe once every couple of months. Sure they were cheaper at the grocery store but my waist line could not afford the 8 pack box. My big downfall is Hershey's special dark chocolate with peanut butter.

The brands will be sold off no doubt but to US firms. They might not be union bakery's though and probably none here in Ca.

Does that make the 18,500 displaced workers feel better?

Does that change the fact that the union did indeed refuse to budge this time?

To my knowledge no one has claimed that the company was well run, how could a well run company sign onto such labor contracts?

Why is it that conservatives fail to recognize what is right in front of their faces.

Even if the Union had capitulated to the companies demands Hostess still would not have made it. The vulture capitalists had already seen to this. They had already saddled Hostess with 700 million in debt there was no way that a measly bargain with a 5000 member union was going to save it. They bribed the current executives with large raises just before the bankruptcy filing to keep them silent. It's the classic Bain style corporate rape.

Also the workers pension funds are now being administered by the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation which is a quasi government corporation. The management at hostess had not paid 88 million dollars into these funds (IE the vulture capitalists stole it) and now guess who gets to pay for it. The US taxpayers.

So go ahead and keep blaming the union for this. The break up and sell off was already a done deal before the union went on strike. The union just forced the hand earlier than the vulture capitalists expected.

I am really a fiscal conservative very much a centrist and for the most part very liberal as to personal freedoms or I would not be on a porn site.

    I am a bundle on contradictions...:excited:

As to a study on management incompetence all I have to do is look towards the White House for the last 12 years...then gaze over to capitol hill...

If you do not think our Govt is a nightmare, you got to be blind.

    Look, conservatives. It's simple math.

Socially Responsible Investors = Well Run Company

Happy Workers = Well Run Company

Happy Community = Well Run Company

No Rich Owners = Well Run Company

The problems in this country will not be fixed until conservatives grow up and put aside their quaint old fashoned obsolete obsession with profit. Greed must go. Period.

Well, my friend SpJames disagrees, and so do I. Corporations in this country are in for some big changes whether they like it or not, so they are going to have to get with the program.

I see this as the tip of the iceburg. As workers demand higher wages, Obamacare demands higher taxes and stock holders demand higher profits, we will see more and more companies start to collapse under the financial weight. Greece type rioting will start when workers realize that government won't have the money to support them and there are too few high paying jobs to be found.

P.S. Why isn't Obama running to Hostess with union bail out money like he did for the car industry? Could it be that Michelle is preventing him from supporting a company that bakes goods made with sugar?

You and stumbles share the same affliction. You seem totally unable to grasp the written word, or you don't seem to think much.

It so happens that I agreed with that analysis several posts ago, what you seem to not understand is, the union could have agreed to the cuts. Then the employees could have begun their search for better employment after the soon to come holidays. But instead they chose to ignore the warnings of not only the company, but the Teamsters as well.

    Explain that away.

Look you right wing propaganda machine blowhard, I know Stumbler's mind and I think I know SpJames's mind, too, so it's real simple what has to happen here.

President Obama has to get on the horn and tell those Hostess Cupcake Factory owners to get back to work and open that factory. The union members need jobs and that's that. This whole thing sets a bad precedent. We can't have rich socially irresponsible one percenters thinking they can just go out of business whenever they want to. It's just plain wrong, and they're either going to open that factory and start making cupcakes again or they're all going to jail where they belong and they can make license plates for a few years for all I care.

......what the hell did you have against the dog?
    Did he bite you?

Shooter sees the closure of Hostess as inevitable. Bad products, badly managed, union shop.

Of course, everyone will take advantage, like vultures sweeping in for their dinner, to blame "the other guys"

Meanwhile, the employees will file unemployment, and if averages hold true, a lot will still be unemployed 2 years from now and all but unemployable.

But as long as everyone gets to gore their bad guy it's all good.

    We are truly fucked
