  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

Unfortunately, I hear that is quite common. Breaking an ankle is a bitch.

I've broken both bones in my right arm jumping a horse over a hurdle and falling off. I broke my right shoulder chasing after one of our goats.

Broken just about everything at least once. I'm an adreline junkie & aside from doing anything involving heights, I tend to be reckless just for the thrill. Alpine Slides, Skiing through trees, VERY heavy foot on the gas peddle etc ;)

Yes, Evil Knievel was my hero as a kid :excited:

Yes I have broken several bones. The one that causes the most problems is my left shoulder blade and that is more because of all of the nerve damage that has been done

Yup broken many things and recovered well from them all but hate to tell you this but my broken ankle still gives me problems and limits me. I hope you have a different experience then me. Ankles are not the same as other body parts nor can you replace them like knee's and hips. I recommend lots of physio and massage really helped the scar tissue and to get the blood circulating for healing. It was always a wait and see and address it as things progressed. I had to stop playing sports and that got me pretty depressed. Stay positive and take up a hobby you can do sitting.

Years ago I broke my ankle pretty bad. I have a plate with 7 screws holding it together. It doesn't bother me under normal conditions but there's little cushion between the skin and bone so if I bump it in cold weather it will hurt somewhat. Other than that, I don't know it's there.

Once I jumped over the coffee table to get the phone before the answering machine took over. I came down on the same leg and rolled the bad ankle. Now THAT hurt, never run for the phone! At any rate, the x-rays clearly show the plate and screws in there but the metal never sets off alarms in the airport security line.

I hope the pain goes away for you soon. I think it should.

All of my lives I have always tried to avoid situations that would cause possible injury. So I didn't break them, but two of my ribs were sawed open at my breastbone for my heart surgery, and they were a little painful over the months it took to heal.

    note to the OP

I had a friend that broke her ankle in New England and had to have 3 screws put in. After the bone healed she had them removed because she had a problem with the metal.

Broken bones in the foot, ankle, leg and back tend to be problems over time since so much of your weight is carried by those bones. The act of walking can be punishment enough for joints that haven't been compromised, never mind joints that have been. I crushed my left foot years ago and still occasionally have problems with it in spite of the fact that it didn't break anything. It was all soft tissue damage but once in a while those tissues will flare up and hurt and in some cases cause real problems walking.

The doctor that did my surgery said it was recommended that they remove the hardware after the bone heals. He also stated if it wasn't bothering me, it didn't have to come out if i chose not to. After 6 months in a boot cast, I was through and left it in.

Broken bones were fairly common in my youth: ribs, three times; clavicle, once; radial, once; femur, once; but thankfully never an ankle bone.

My most revered hero broke multiple bones in both of his ankles and, at age 68, was told he would never walk without braces or crutches again. He was on his own two feet within 9 months and lived another mobile twenty years.

My Dad was a tough old bird.

If I have them removed what's the recovery like? Can I walk on it afterwards?

My doc told me I will need a fusion in 10 years.I told her to do it when I had my last surgery.I have to work and wanted it done all at once. She said I was too young for it...Anyone ever had a fusion?

My friend I mentioned recovered quickly from the removal and had no trouble walking on it. She later developed un related knee problems leading to two successive knee replacements which gave her permanent nerve damage causing her to be in pain all the time. She is going to try some experimental treatment for the neuropathy.

Never broken any bones but took a fanbelt off a running engine with the index finger of my left hand, stuck an electrician"s screwdriver through the end of the same finger. Many years later it is still painful during cold weather.

When I was 6 I broke my neck along with a massive concussion. It wasn't discovered until I was in my mid 30's. I now have C1-C3 fused with cadaver bone and two 4" screws. Because of the scar tissue and surgury scars, I have had headaches ever since.

The Dr. Also told me that I would have more of a risk of arthritis in the area. I believe the worse the injury, the worse the inevitable problems you will have. It's all completely normal and sucks!

The arthritis issue is huge. While I didn't break my sternum, it was extremely flexed when I was in an auto accident over twenty years ago. I have developed arthritis there, it is amost impossible for me to take a deep breath. Making some folks think that I'm having a heart attack because of the gasping for breath when I have been exerting myself.

Heart and lungs are A-one, but any new doctor wants to run heart tests, which I refuse to do.
