i have trained females to be snipers and have lost in competitions to females

That's got me thinking, why is it that human evolution has provided a roughly 50:50 split of males to females? More females should result in more offspring, and therefore one might expect a higher ratio of women to men. Perhaps something to do with the amount of natural resources available to hunter gatherer tribes, and the gender that acquired them.

 

Women should not serve on the front line, period!

I believe that Patriotism does not distinguish between men and women. Clearly, a woman who wishes to serve her country on the front lines [ ....and is eligible for the job ] has every right to be there. But I'd recommend against it . Doesn't a country need spies, military engineers & consultants as much as it needs soldiers ? Women being more dominant on an intellectual scale would definitely kick ass.

 

Despite my comic response earlier I do have a strong view on this which seems to be held by most people who have served in the forces (although I have not).

Women should not serve on the front line because they will cause men to take greater risks to protect them and the psychological trauma for a man seeing a woman injured or killed is greater than that felt for a fellow man.

That's just human male nature, plain and simple.

Add to that indignity experienced by female prisoners of war and the added psychological trauma of that on the serving men.

 

I spent 10 years in the military, Navy, and I was stationed with some real cool women. They weren't necesarily allowed to go where we went but you could tell they wanted to. This isn't WW1 people. We don't throw people over the shoulder anymore. We carry them on strtcher. Women are more than capable in todays military

 

Male prisoners are raped also but nobody talks about that.

 

Also it seems like for US women soldiers the ones who hurt them the most are American men.

 

And this is the nature that we have to work to change IMO. Men, myself included, was raised to "protect" the "weaker" sex. That view is outdated. I served 6 years in the Navy on men-only and mixed-sex ships. While some of the women on board should not have been there (for similar reasons some men shouldn't have been there as well) I served with many women that, I felt, would do better than some of the guys on board. I was close friends with many people and lost 3 of them during my time in, 2 males and one female, but I have to say each death effected me about the same..you just move on.

As a previous poster pointed out men get sexually assaulted just like women will, but the sigma about women and rape harkens back to that "weaker" sex thing. I fully support women on the front lines. I support that they be given the exact same opportunities as our male soldiers, sailors and airmen. They should not be locked out of where they want to be just because of their sex.

This is all my opinion and I am not sating that you opinion is wrong, just that I disagree with it.

 

to those that belive that the men serving on the lines do not want females to be viewed as equals i can tell you from my own time in the MARINES i have met several COs that would trade some of the pansy assed pussy "men" that they got fpr a good woman soldier
ive trained a few females as shooters and they had a patience for a target like a python
i have watched female soldiers pick a man up and run him to a safe place
men and women can do the same fucking jobs so grow the fuck up and leave your cave behind
