Most believe zombies are relegated to the movies and video games, but Oklahoma Republican Sen. Tom Coburn has highlighted the Department of Homeland Security’s participation in a staged “zombie apocalypse.”


According to Coburn’s most recent oversight report “Safety at Any Price: Assessing the Impact of Homeland Security Spending in U.S. Cities,” first responders were approved grant funds for a $1,000 entry fee to a week-long HALO Counter-Terrorism Summit in San Diego where the “marquee” event was a demonstration of a “zombie apocalypse.”

“[Strategic Operations] performed two shows on Halloween, which featured 40 actors dressed as zombies getting gunned down by a military tactical unit. Conference attendees were invited to watch the shows as part of their education in emergency response training. ​

[HALO president Brad] Barker explained that, ‘the idea is to challenge authorities as they respond to extreme medical situations where people become crazed and violent, creating widespread fear and disorder,’” the report reads.​

Coburn was not pleased by the event or much of the waste detailed in his report.​

My story about the zombie/moonbat really is true. I don't think he even looked at McCain's web site when he voted. He was comparing the Obama 2008 Campaign web site with the official White House web site. Hence, he voted against George W. Bush's website.

I know that sounds insane, but that is my point. I write novels for fun, and I couldn't make this shit up if I tried.

Obama gets to choose where the cuts are made. Do you think he would chose programs with little impact then claim that he was able to save the economy. No! He will choose to make cuts that will affect the greatest number of citizens then blame the republicans.

I didn't mention the republican nominee for president, as he was not the incumbent president, had not been the head of the executive branch and had made no policy or lead the government, Bush had.

Obama took over the Presidency and country after Bush had fucked it up, although your right McCain would have probably fucked it up just as well, if he had ever been president, thankfully he never got that chance.

 

I'm not sure about that. Congress may have to approve where cuts are made.

 

Couple of observations.............

I have yet to see Obama's compromise offer to the Publicans
I have seen two compromise offers come out of the house; neither has passed the Democratic controlled Senate.
I have heard Obama yapping about how Congress has fucked this deal up.
I have yet to hear Obama take blame for his part in this fuckery.

I am hearing all kinds of plans on the part of Government employees to stick it to "us" for letting this happen. One example;

TSA employees will take one day in 10 off when (if) the budget cuts take full effect.
They aren't spreading around the cuts; having one in 10 employees take a day off, they plan to have half of them take the same day off, the other half take another day off. The result will be that in 6 days out of 30, half of the TSA screening stations will be closed.

That isn't government finding a way to work through this; that's government teaching us a lesson. With extortion.

I have gone from blaming Obama and congress to blaming Obama. That fucker is the worst president we've had this century. In fact, he's dangerous and the damage he's doing will take decades to fix.

Yes, but as I understand it we're still in a pickle, due to the provisions that limit the range of discretion Congress has. Obama's measure has a finite list of programs that can be cut. One big one is the military, which (crazily enough) is considered discretionary. The rest of the categories are discretionary as well.

If only they could cut from the EPA, the NEA, Homeland Security, Medicare, Medicaid, EBT, SSI, and on, and on, and on. But no. Obama has already let ICE release criminals from jail in advance of the cuts. (And don't anyone dare suggest he didn't know about it.) Why? Extortion, that's why, as someone else above (XNXXBob or Tommyturtle or Shooter) has already said.
