Recently Mayor Bloomberg of New York City had attempted to impose a ban on all soda's of larger than 16oz; that ban has been nullified via the courts here in America.

Yet he has in the past banned or severly restricted such goods as salt used in restraunts, styrophome and so much more.

What I wish to hear your opinions on, is the man a socialist/communist who wants to impose the ultimate 'nanny-state' controlling all actions of the masses 'for their own good' or are there other motivations or causes behind his deeds?

A ban on sodas of over 16 ounces is not something that bothers me. A tax on them might be more appropriate.

Let me try to figure this out. Hmmm, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, nuclear power plant leaks and almost a hundred other potentially devastating natural and unnatural disasters on the list of things causing evacuation of vast numbers of citizens. If one recalls Katrina and the debacle of housing in New Orleans and the Gulf Shore afterwards, it goes to reason that provisions would be established for future events. FEMA is responsible for that on a national level. BTW, most of the "FEMA Camps" on the map shown by most links are federal, state and municipal prisons and jails; military bases, US & National Guard; and public schools and auditoriums.

Next, millions of round of ammo, gee whiz Tonto, there are hundreds of thousands of small arms owned by the federal government, all bearers of such required to range practise annually (or more frequently) wonder how amny rounds that alone would require?

You have bundled two separate issues.
The first is him playing "big brother" with people's consumption choices. Those being super sized soda and salt intake.

The second is Styrofoam, which is a land fill/ hard to recycle issue.


The town I grew up in in, recently passed an ordinance that no styrofoam or plastic carry out bags will be allowed starting this year.

The town doesn't have a mayor, it has a town meeting council made up of approx. 200 residents, who were elected. This proposal was passed with more than 3/4 of the committee members voting for it.

The town might be towards the left as a whole, but with town meeting members representing all the districts of the town. There are many areas that are more republican than democrat, so people from both parties had to have voted for the ban.

Perhaps you need to do some research on some not well known EXECUTIVE ORDERS, and some prior H.R. bills that have been passed, before you tell me to get a life and a clue,, on both of my questions.
