And why should Obama bother to produce his birth cirtificate? Why him, why now? Why, when every other President is accepted at face value? What makes him so extraordinarily different that people demand he show a documentation that he was born within the United States?

Is this the change you really voted for? President Obama has only been in office for two months. Now we have HR 1388. The Bill was sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) with 37 others. The Bill was introduced to the floor of the House of Representatives where both Republicans and Democrats voted 321-105 in favor. Next it goes to the Senate for a vote and then on to President Obama.

This bill's title is called "Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education" (GIVE). It forms what some are calling "Obama's Youth Brigade." Obama's plan is require anyone receiving school loans and others to serve at least three months as part of the brigade .. His goal is one million youth! This has serious Nazi Germany overtones to it.

The Bill would forbid any student in the brigade to participate in "engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization." That means no church attendance or witnessing.

Again, is this what America voted for? Here is part of the HR1388 Bill's wording:

SEC. 1304 PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.

Section 125 (42 U.S.C. 12575) is amended to read as follows:

SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.

(a) Prohibited Activities - A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities:

(1) Attempting to influence legislation.

(2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes.

(7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.

This bill DOES exist. It has been passed in the House of Representatives and is now in the Senate. I have just looked it up. Below is the link with the bill if you wish to read it.

I am not sure that it disallows one from attending church. But it certainly prohibits any sort of participation in teaching or leading.

Not everyone is ready to join hands and sing the praises of the concept, however. While GIVE enjoyed bipartisan sponsorship in both the Senate and the House, that didn't prevent a majority of Republicans from voting against the bill on final passage. They complained that the bill was "too expensive" and would crowd out pure volunteer work with program participants receiving a modicum of financial support for their efforts from the federal government. In the House, 149 of 175 Republicans voted "no," joined by 19 of their colleagues in the Senate, including the party's two top leaders.
Contrary to the claims made in the e-mail example reproduced above, GIVE does not "require anyone receiving school loans and others to serve at least three months." The bill allows students to earn $500 credits towards college costs by participating in volunteer service programs; it contains no provisions
for mandatory service as a condition of receiving student loans, or for any other reason. (The original version of the bill merely called for a feasibility study regarding "Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented," but even that language was dropped from the passed version of the bill.)

GIVE also does not "prohibit any sort of participation in teaching or leading" of religious instruction or services by individuals who take part in national service programs. It states that AmeriCorps members may not engage in those activities while they are operating in that role — that is, they are free to continue those activities in their private lives, but not to engage in them as official functions of GIVE-related programs. (This restriction is analogous to that placed on public school teachers: Such teachers may not lead students in religious activities as part of official school-related functions, but they may certainly attend church, offer religious instruction, lead prayer or Bible study groups, and engage in other religious activities away from the classroom.)

Up front, personally and morally I stand against almost everything that President Obama stands for in his ideology and the deeds he had done to date.

I hold the personal opinion that he is insane and thus unfit for the holding of his office, a Socialist on many areas, Communist on others, and a genuine thug most of the time as well.

He seeks the destruction of our Republic, and to become the leader of it as a dictator or part of an 'enlightened elite.' This is if his and the administrations madness does not stop.

Look into history for as far back as records exist and you can find one or more occasions where people rise to power and become dictators; or are elected and in time become dictators or emperors...

Yes Emperors - many of the Roman Czars were emperors and many became dictators late in their rulership over the empire. So does this place them in the same category as Hitler?

After all, they waged wars of conquest, enslaved and exterminated nations of people, built and empire on blood and plunder; and yet we hold their empire as a great marker in the history of the world.

What of the Greeks?
What of the Persians?
What of the Babylonians?
What of the countless empires that rose and fell in India, China, and the Asian Pacific countries around them?

What of the Mongolian hordes and their empire?

Do I need to continue?

All of them were based to one degree or another on conquest, on bloodshed, on slaughter of entire cities or nations, of slavery and much more often on the flimsiest of pretext to try and justify their desires.

President Obama, as with any other President past or in the future has the opportunity to become a dictator or emperor if events and their ambition come together in the right combination.

Right now I personally see the combination of events heading that way, and we have only a limited amount of time to derail them to keep it from happening.

So who else are you going to compare President Obama to - Mao? Pol Pot? Stalin?

Many of them caused more blood to be shed than Hitler did among their own people, and that does not excuse their actions in any shape or form.

Have you failed to take into account the events that led to the chance for Hitler to come to power?

The Treaty of Versailles leveled war reparations on Germany and the newly established Wiemar Republic that would have crippled any nation in its day.

France occupied key industrial and natural resource centers of Germany and sought to keep the new Republic destabilized from within as it sought to add smaller European nations to its sphere of influence via direct absorption or as part of a larger hegemony.

Internal political and economic strife, strikes and such caused by the collapse of the global markets (read - Great Depression) allowed for a massive degree of inter-German chaos.

These were often led by the efforts of the Socialists, Communists and various anarchist groups. One of these groups was Hitlers Brown Shirts, allied in union with the Communists for a time to bring him unto prominence.

The chaos of the times was many orders of magnitude beyond what we have at this time under the terms of President Obama.

As the Wiemar Republic collapsed from within, it created a power vacuum that needed to be filled, and Hitler was in the position to make it happen.

Unlike then, the American people are aware of what we may face from any President who seeks absolute power in the states. And yes, I am quite up to date on all the laws and executive orders of President Obama; I work to keep informed so as to be forearmed with knowledge.

Again, you seek to forge a comparison of two different times and people unto the same ending.

I am curious to see his claim as well; based on my own research and reading of President Obama's books, he claims to be a Christian, yet if I recall right the church he attended for so many years under Jeremiah Wright.

The research of their doctrine holds to salvation being of a collective nature (which I disagree with, the door is open to all and based on the individuals choices, not a collective group in which if one falls all are damned).

I think the idea of Pres Obama being called a Muslim comes from his being raised for a time in Indonesia. It's as much a ghost story as when Hillary asked to see Pres Obama's birth certificate (many people forget that mess started with her)
