Call bullshit all you want, facts are facts. I'm venturing to guess that Zimmerman knew nothing of Treyvon's past record so why would he target Treyvon solely on this fact.

Another scenario I heard (only from one radio source) is that Treyvon was walking against houses not on the walkway. If someone is walking against my house or a neighbors house that is suspicious behavior. Again, I have not heard of the facts around this accusation but it is one that is out there.

And by the way not all 'blacks' are of the same opinion that you are generously sharing here.

Zimmerman followed Trayvon when he was told not to, also keep everyone who IS racist is trying to paint Trayvon as the bad guy, and he deserved to be killed. Didn't the Spanish speaking said she saw Zimmerman on Trayvon? I have been following the trail very closely, and of those witness are lying

As far as for "talking like you're black", I think perhaps Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey and even Kareem Abdul Jabar may disagree with you. They are just a few of the African American success stories who promote education and speaking correctly so you don't come across as an idiot.

Agreed, Zimmerman was told not to follow as we all heard on the 911 recordings. Also notable, Zimmerman and his wife acted questionably when raising funds for the trial to cover their expenses.

Note that I did not say that he was innocent. But with an open mind when listening to all of the facts that are on table there is an air of self defense not flat out murder. Therefore, based on what I've seen and heard, I do not feel that Zimmerman should be convicted of murder 2 but maybe a lesser charge. Although, it is not my opinion that matters here, it is up to the jury and judge to make that call.

And no, the prosecutions witness said that Treyvon was on top of Zimmerman beating him. Zimmerman was the only one that had marks of a beating. I have yet to hear if Treyvon had any marks of being beaten and the only marks on him are related to being shot close range.

 

This case is definitely all about race. That is the only way to make sense of the fact that it ever made it to court. It is also the only way to understand why the judge hasn't thrown it out.

Now there are allegations that Zimmerman's arrest warrant was falsified.

And the "African American Community" is threatening to riot.

He wasn't shot because he was black. He was shot because an idiot with a gun felt like a baddass with said gun. To me it's the equivalant of someone getting drunk and thinking they're tougher than they really are. Stop with the race-baiting bullshit. Following someone is not a crime. It is certainly not a crime if one is a neighborhood watch volunteer in a gated community.

Attacking someone from behind, pushing him onto the ground, and punching him in the face is a crime.

I have been in Trayvon Martin's situation a few times. Instead of getting violent I politely give my name, and explain why I am in the area. If Trayvon Martin had done that he would still be alive. He may have even graduated from high school on time, although that is less certain.

 

He was shot because he was beating someone up who had a gun. I don't like guns, but I can understand why a lot of white folks do, especially if they live in or near a black neighborhood.

As far as white privilege is concerned, what about affirmative action policies that enable blacks to be admitted to colleges and hired to positions even though by every objective measurable criterion they are less capable than whites who apply?

I've spent the past 15 yrs working in one of the "most violent" cities in the U.S. and never needed (nor felt the need) to carry my gun. I'm truly sorry for whatever experiences you've had DL. I've had my share of negative run-ins with scum. But I refuse to let those events taint my view of people. The positive experiences have far outweighed the negative. And although I legally own and support the right to carry, I see it as increasing my odds of things going from bad to worse really quick. The Martin/Zimmerman issue is a case in point.

So far, what I'm getting from this thread is that both black people and white people are racist scum, that black people don't think you're black unless you talk like the stereotypical nigger instead of a well spoken and intelligent being, that most of you folks are unable to define what constitutes a criminal act that justifies violence as a response and are effectively willing slaves of the government. I'm seeing a lot of anti-gun messages, but very few anti-beating messages which tells me that too many of you are focusing on the tool, not the act, which is a foolish thing to do, tools don't act on their own, and in the hands of a determined person, even nothing can be a deadly weapon. I see fail within fail here. I am prepared to say that this thread is made of at least 50% fail and 25% troll.
