Did anyone see on Tues where the black neighbor testified on Zimmerman s behalf. Good for her. That kind drove home what all the white witness were saying. I wonder if she "sold out" . I am sure she get backlash from her black friends for not sticking with the blacks on this one. I commend her. Not because she stood up for Zimmerman but because she ddidn't allow her race to keep her from coming fwd.

I must say, throughout this entire case, I have seen no emotion from either of Martin's parents. It's almost like they are reading lines off a page. It makes me wonder how involved they were in his life? Or if they even had a normal parent-son relationship??

Trayvon's girlfriend showed more emotion than his own parents.

There will be no winner in this case no matter what the verdict. The scars will run deep for a long time....

 

I'll stop by long enough to say you've got one valid point in my opinion and one huge problem which has nothing to do with race.

And the point is that if everything else was exactly the same except Trayvon Martin was white and George Zimmerman was black Zimmerman would already be in prison.

But your problem with this particular trial is that its not really an indictment of George Zimmerman anymore. Its actually an indictment of the State of Florida which apparently can't afford to hire anyone who is not arrogantly ignorant and basically incompetent at their jobs. This isn't the first time we've seen this. We sat there and watched Casey Anthony's defense team either make fools of the supposed professional and expert witnesses employed by the state or at the very least offer them tons of reasonable doubt through their own incompetency. And this trial has simply been a re-run of that same incompetence.

So while you have some valid points as far as racism goes in Florida the incompetence of the state is not really a racial issue.

The Ancient Greeks kept slaves, as did the Romans and the Huns. All the Germanic (Scandinavian) peoples did (thralls). The Franks and Gauls kept slaves as did the Russians and other Slavic peoples (serfs). Most nomadic people did not practice institutionalized slavery so much as personal slavery, usually in the form of personal sex slaves captured in raids and such. The Chinese keet slaves off and on throughout history including most of the country after "The Cultural Revolution" in the 50's. The Britons kept Irish slaves in the form of indentured servants all through the 1600's.

Slavery has existed in every place where one man has decided that he wanted his fields planted, but didn't want to do it himself and could get the drop on his neighbor. Suck it up.

Talking about why we don't hear anyone talking about white slaves, we don't hear about it mostly because society and the government has burned it into everyone's head that only black people can be a racism victim.
