I didn't see the age of the daughter mentioned. I agree that it would be inappropriate to show a child how to masturbate. But I imagine that the poster was referring to a teenager. A teenager who would be exploring anyway and therefore would benefit from discussing masturbation with a parent instead of from friends or the internet.
