  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

This is from the Federal Times, a Government Employee rag. Seems even Obama's minions have issues with his plan...........

And as alert members already know, Obama unilaterally decided that the Government will continue to cover 75% of the premium for Federal Employees. Even though it wasn't allowed in the legislation. Even though Federal Employees were specifically supposed to play in the same game with the rest of us.

I can only tell you this. As a self employed person who had to pay 100% of his health insurance, there is going to be lower options available as of the first of the year.

Many people either get their insurance coverage provided free or for a fraction of the cost by their employer. It's hard to realize the burden if you're not paying $1,000. per month for single coverage only.

If you ARE paying 100% of your health care insurance, compare what you're paying to what some of the new rates in California will be. I don't about anybody else but it is by far less expensive than what I've been used to and is affordable. There are millions of people in the workforce who don't get insurance provided, yet don't earn enough to purchase healthcare for their families. This is better than what we had in my opinion.

    Compare.

    Well, the fly in the ointment is that a survey showed that a significant portion of employees who can obtain coverage won't, for three main reasons;
    1) They think their employer ought to provide health care at no cost to them, that it's their "right" and they shouldn't have to pay anything.
    2) They don't need it because they are healthy, and will deal with it when they get older
    3) They know they will always be given health care at the emergency room and will be able to avoid paying for it.

    See, you can't fix stupid!

But the Govt. takes care of it's own.

Turns out, you can't fix greed either.

Is the government going to pay 75% of my premium? No? Thought so. I don't have health insurance now because of the cost.

It pisses me off that Obama acts like he and his minions are gods and should be treated like gods at our expense. I have yet to see any other president waste so much money on stupid shit like vacations and then demand the people cut back on food so we can afford higher taxes to pay for all his vacations. I really hate that bastard

That is exactly the problem Tommy, you can't afford health insurance. That is what needs to be corrected and the new healthcare act, while having ton's of stuff I don't like, does do that. I assume you know how much health insurance would cost you right now. Go compare what your rates are to what the new rates in California will be under the affordable care act beginning 2014.

I know you're not in California but it's a guideline for you to examine and your states rates will likely be somewhat close. You might actually be able to purchase health insurance come the first of the year.

Check it out and let us know if it looks affordable. there are different options to choose from.

BTW, I'm not a fan of Obama. I didn't vote for him either. I just want affordable healthcare for all working people.

The problem is that the health plans are for catastrophic coverage for several hundred dollars a month. I can buy that now for about $450 a month which I can't afford. If I buy this plan with a $6000 deductible and then visit the emergency room with a $3000 bill (which my wife has done recently) I will have to pay that, too.

So I make payments on the current bill and don't buy insurance because I can't do both.

The California plan showed a "silver" plan for $332 a month but I couldn't find what the plan actually covers. Illinois has the same problem. They tell me I can buy from a choice of plans for x dollars but don't tell me what I'm getting. They want us to start signing up October 1. I won't be because I don't know what I'm getting for money I don't have.

I tried this. $600 a month on the exchange. We currently pay $400 a month. Same coverage. Thank you Master Obama.

the company I work for jacked our rates up 2 years ago when all this started, I had to cancel mine because it went from $110 a week to $185 a week and they cut the benefit in half. They basically stated that they had to make up the loss somewhere that they were not going to eat the cost of ostupid care.

Is the cost of your coverage $400 mth or is that the amount you're required to contribute to it? If that's 100% of the policy cost, I think you have a good deal. Since you won't be required to join the exchange, stay where you are and it's all good. ;)

My insurance rates in the private sector aren't so good and the new exchange is a huge improvement for many people. There's plenty of folks who are anxiously waiting to be able to purchase healthcare that haven't been able to afford it so far. When you factor in the tax subsidy if you qualify, it's even more affordable for the working poor. Over all, this is a good start. We can't wait any longer to control the high cost of health insurance. I don't care which political party brings it to us. It's a problem we ALL need to address and this is the best thing we have going for us so far. Is there room for improvement? Hell yes.

While i do agree that something needed to be done about high health care costs, i think ovomit made these laws with the insurance companies making a large profit in mind. Still in the end, the working class people are getting screwed while the rich make out like kings. Health Insurance is of no use to me if it does not pay for anything. That is where this whole thing makes my blood boil, you are required by law to buy something that is not required by law to pay out on your behalf.

I get it but how can you say the insurance doesn't cover anything? The maximum out of pocket to insured is about $6,000 under this particular plan. I have a relative who spent 1 day in the hospital for a splint. The bill was over $50,000. This plan would save him over $44,000. That's a fair amount of money in my opinion. It's definately worth having unless you aren't planning on paying your bills anyway.

And do you know why it cost $50K to do what i did once with duct tape and a stick?

    Couple of items;
    1) Lawyers suing doctors and hospitals all the fucking time
    2) People who don't have insurance, won't get insurance, or can't get insurance, cause they know the hospital will treat them, and will never get them to pay their bill.

Over half of all costs associated with health care are written off by providers because they cannot collect from the patient or their insurance.

    Think about it.
