The fucking law doesn't force insurance companies to pay one goddamn penny out for you no matter how much money you pay them. Why? So that the governments share of the profit is bigger. The insurance companies should be forced by law to pay out, just forcing them to give someone coverage just guarantees the bastards a bigger profit because if they are not forced to pay out they will not do it. SI doctor to treat woman who lost specialist due to ObamaCare


Dr. Glenn D. Babus, inset, has agreed to treat Margaret Figueroa for free. Figueroa suffers from a rare brain disease and lost her doctor and access to medicine due to ObamaCare complications.



A woman who suffers from a rare neurological disorder and was unable to see her doctor because of complex ObamaCare restrictions finally got the help she needs Wednesday, one week after The Post ran a story about her difficulties. (Related story here.)

Margaret Figueroa — who has undergone four brain operations — lost access to her medicine and doctor in February because of ObamaCare.

Dr. Glenn D. Babus agreed to provide service to the woman free of charge and she was able to get medical treatment, the office of Staten Island Rep. Mike Grimm said yesterday.

Babus had agreed to see and treat Margaret pro bono in consideration of the intense difficulty ObamaCare’s implementation has created for her,” Grimm said.

This will allow her to finally get her prescriptions.”

Figueroa, 49, needs to take five medications a day, including 60 milligrams of morphine.

She enrolled in a new Emblem¬Health insurance program in February as required under the Affordable Care Act.

And that’s when her problems began.

After paying her premium, she received a temporary ID card. But when she went to ¬order medication, the pharmacists said her name wasn’t in the system.

And she said her doctors were not included in her new medical plan.

“It’s scary because this is America,” Figueroa said.

“I didn’t expect to go through this.”

Not having a regular doctor put her in a Catch-22: A patient can’t get medication without a doctor’s prescription.

Out of desperation, she called Grimm’s office for help on March 24.

“I’ve had my neurologist for years,” Figueroa said.

Grimm pointed out, “You want to stay with someone who’s been in your brain and knows what’s going on.”

Neither Babus nor Figueroa could be reached for comment Wednesday night.

“Emblem Health is paying for her care through June 1 while we work with her to find a convenient doctor who accepts her insurance,” an Emblem Health spokesman said.

The thing is that none of that would have happened to her if she could have kept her old plan (as promised). Obamacare rules forced the changes.

 

Oh, no. You're forgetting that her old plan was one of those "junk plans", and was insufficient compared to the one she has now with the TryToFind Care Act.

 

Strange, though, the new (better) plan doesn't help her with her problem. She has great maternity care now that she will probably never use.
