  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

DL Dammit... If you don't know what your talking about then please refrain from commenting.

I listen to Limbaugh a lot. I was listening during the time that Limbaugh made this comment and that is not at all, not even one iota, what Limbaugh meant when he said, "I hope he fails!"

What he meant was in reference to what Obama's plans for "Hope and Change" were. Limbaugh had just finished pointing out that Obama wanted to change over this country in a very liberal sense, and in that sense, Limbaugh did in fact "hope that Obama failed."

He had just finished playing a clip where Obama was talking about what would have to happen in order to get your "single payer" health care plan, and he also played other clips where Obama was making profound liberal comments. It was these things that Limbaugh wanted him to fail at.

He at no point insinuated that he wanted American people to suffer in any way shape or form, but he also knew that if Obama began to get his way on things that is exactly what would happen.

And it is what is happening.

    Oh no you didn't!!
How the hell can you be so obvious in your cherry picking of facts??
The discussion between you and I was whether Americans can improve their lot in life through hard work and education.
When I press you for your sources, cause, you know, you disagree, you cite economic "facts" comparing the Bush era with Clinton. Clinton's era ended 13 years ago. Bush's ended 5 years ago.
    TWAT

You want to take that approach you gotta include Obama's numbers. But, you know what they look like, and you know using the same premise, Obama has fucked over the economy many times worse that every President before him.

II mean, do you really think we're so dumb we'd just nod and agree with your BS "facts and logic"? That "facts and figures" from 20 plus years ago, ignoring the last 5 years, would be anything close to relevant? Really?

My point, which only a few people like Charles Murray have the courage to discuss in public, is that superior intelligence is becoming increasingly necessary to earn a decent income.

Without a reasonably high IQ hard work and education achieve little. Too many Americans are educated beyond their ability levels.

Even if a person has a high IQ, a good education, and works hard the economy has become less forgiving of mistakes, bad choices, and simple bad luck.

Today there were protests against the NSA surveillance being conducted on Americans.

Most Republican and Democrat politicians seem to be quite silent on this issue. Several from each party have endorsed the surveillance as necessary. But those craaaazy Tea Party folks are against it for some weird reason.

Many countries around the world have come out critical of it too. Not one single country has come out to say it's a great idea. There's now 21 member nations of the UN that have banded together to object to our spying on them. What a bunch of kooks, huh? Many, however, have kept their mouths shut because they know what's good for them.

One of Obama's campaign promises was to bring nations around the world together. That may turn out to be the one and only promise he's actually keeps.

So at least there's one issue where the Republicans and Democrats can agree. Now if only we could get those craaaazy Tea Party folks to put down the Constitution and come to their senses.

Republicans who are in the know realize that George the Lesser, and maybe even George the Greater were complicit in this.

The teabaggers hope that this can be the big scandal that brings Obama down.

Kay. I'm calling a full bullshit on you for this one. If your point was only that
it was totally unnecessary to quote your "facts" about how the country fared under Bush VS Clinton.

    But, you knew that.

It's unfortunate that you have no faith in Americans and their ability to succeed. Even the "black violent stupid" ones.

It's sad that you believe cherry picking facts to support your wild assertions benefits anyone.

It's outrageous that you dare to lie so blatantly.

Nope. Calling a full bullshit on this one.

Hey! You aren't a politician by any chance are you? You sound like one you know.........

This is precisely the socialist democrat frame of mind that makes me despise them. The idea that you know all there is to know about a persons character and potential based on their social and economic status, and thus you can relegate them to a little box you wish to create for them is unAmerican and apalling.

I grew up on welfare with a single mother who did her best to raise me right. You woyld have judged her and I harshly I am sure for the three room house she could afford to rent. When I married at 18 right out of high school my minimum wage job wasn't enough so I got a second one. During those first two summers of marriage I learned about a local farming trade that contracted harvesting labor to hard workers and I took a contract with a couple farmers and put a few of my buddies to work at a decent wage. I made good money. None of that required a high IQ. Just hard work and planning.

I received a promotion into management at one of my jobs for working hard and showing up on time in a clean uniform and exercising reasonable judgement. Nothing off the charts for IQ there either. Also not a lucky break, I earned it. I worked hard and it paid off.

Twenty years later I'm still married to the same woman, we have six kids and I've worked my way into a six figure sales position. So fuck you and your high and mighty opinion of those on welfare. What I did with my life is called fulfilling the American Dream. And it obviously didn't take a rocket science IQ or the luck and priveledge of silver spoon birth to achieve.

That type of attitude, the stance that "we know what is best for the masses and the individuals opinion (do they even have them? haha snort snort we're so much smarter than them!) doesn't matter is why I stand opposed to anything that smacks of socialism. And the liberal socialist democratic platform stinks to high heaven with it.

Now I'm sure all you witty "knuckle draggers" will open fire on my poor grammar, welfare based upbringing and inability to prove my statements with "facts" from one biased websote or another. But none of you will ever convince an American who believes in the Constitution this democratic REPUBLIC was founded on that my story is unique. Our society abounds with people like me. But socialism kills that drive, that desire to achieve.

I also refuse to argue with people who have no hope of being convinced to share my opinion.

Conservatives, stop wasting your time. Find Americans with like values and convince them to vote. That's how we stop this train wreck. Educate the 200 million who fail to vote. Convince them that their voice is important and that they need to stand up and be counted.

    Dave,

Thanks for your personal testimony. There is not a more powerful tool to demonstrate the American spirit that this country was founded upon, and you demonstrate a fine example of it.

Good luck and thanks again for your comment.

You grew up on a program you would deny others. You probably should give that some thought.

Good for you Dave, we are proud of your accomplishments, dispite the adversities that you faced. I for one, am also proud of your mother, she obviously instilled a work ethic in you and used the system exactly how it was intended to be used, she got you to rise above it.

    Way to go Mom!!!
Hey asshole, he is an example of how welfare should work, not an example of how you want it work.

    Lmao... Typical response.

Nobody is suggesting that we get rid of the "train" completely. We only suggest that not everybody can fit on it and that there are currently too many people on the "train" already. Adding more only risks the safety of all.

There is a large difference in helping the needy and funding the lazy. My mother worked hard and received the fewest benefits she could. No rational person wants to end all welfare programs. Just the abuse of them. And that is the fundamental difference in the two viewpoints.

The socialists say "here, let the government take care of you. stay in your little box because you and I both know you could never achieve more." (as the quote I pulled in my first post makes a fine example of).

The conservatives say "here, let us help you back up on your feet. keep working hard, you'll be ok."

No, that's always been the Republican mantra. First a finger, then another soon we have the whole hand. Republicans have tried to kill social security, medicare, medicaid and welfare for years, who do you think you're kidding?
