consider him as a friend ... a human being sensitive creations and thats what make us differnt than animals or plants ... knowing that someone is listen to your problems which you cannot tell it to anyone else

for example .... lets say u r cheating on your wife ( its just an example ,, nothin personal ) but you still love ur wife and you cannot tell her u r cheating on her .... and you feel too confusing and donno what to do !

then when u open ur heart to him you will get the peace ... just like talkin to an old, trustful friend ..

I'm an atheist, so no i don't beleive in a god, simply because im tired of the hypocracy of do as i say not as i do, and such as i love you and i forgive you but you go to hell, amoung other reasons

Second, I will NOT try to "chat" with god. I don't believe in "him". That is as obsurd to me as trying to converse with a wall in order to obtain guidance.

Third, it is a common xtian belief that non-believers are sent straight to hell. The number of times I have been told to "accept the lord savior into my heart or face eternal damnation" would astound you.

Third, I didn't say it didn't need an sperm and egg. You asked if it needed a mother and father. And you implied that god had a hand in it. I think it's just a sperm fertilizing an egg. I don't believe god has anything to do with it. Because (wait for it)...........I don't believe there is a god.

I'm sorry but after 9 years of catholic school and years of research on other religions I have come to the decision that there is no "higher being". That mankind needed explanations. They needed hope. They needed a common set of rules to govern basic human behavior.

I think believing in something because you're afraid of the alternative is spineless and stupid. I think any religion that commonly uses the term "god FEARING" should re-think the god they worship. And I firmly believe that if I was to some day find "faith" it would be with one of the polytheistic religions. I find it a LITTLE less far-fetched that more than one entity is responsible for what happens in the world.

I don't see a point in believing in a god just because everyone around me does. And I don't see the point in believing in a god who's never made himself present. I find it horribly convenient that his presence can't be proven. I mean how best to milk people out of their hard earned money and use their fear and faith against them...convince them there's an "all powerful" being watching their every move then TELL them what that being wants from them.

In my expierience, not all that long i know but still, when an athiest does a good thing its because they want to do said good thing, no fear of punishment coomes into play, where as the major religions say, do good things or you will suffer eternal damnation. Yes you may o good things because you want to, but im willing to bet down at maybe even a subconcious level you did it cause you fear punishment for not doing it.
