I've see a lot of violence (non gang related and gang related). I'm not in a gang nor ever was. From when I was growing up to now, a lot of the violence has just gotten worse to the point that you can't go out at night or half the time during the day if your on your own depending where you live. There was a report brought out here where the author called the young persons who are involved in such acts "rabbid dogs" I personally agree with him and that tougher laws should be brought into play immediately to not just protect the young persons from themselves but the general public before more people get killed or are victimised from adolescent stupidity.

That's just my two cents.

 

Of course there are hundreds,, if not thousands, are they all lies,, hell yes,, 98% of them are.

YES,,,car accidents, slipping in the shower, electrocuting yourself, falling over a roadside curb, all can result in deaths, but dont sit there and tell me that guns kill and the statistic claim that the U.S. has the highest mortality rate due to guns,, it's bullshit,,I have been fighting about this for more years than you have been alive.

Yes you can,, give the law abiding people guns to defend themselves from criminals,, criminals will always have guns,, the black market will not die,, it is here and here to stay.

I would again call your attention to the fact that fully automatic guns are illegal to own without a license in the US. It take at least three hundred dollars and jumping through tons of hoops and then they are extremely expensive and most Americans can't afford them. Two what are available are simi-automatic which translates to people who don't know about guns as it fires one bullet every time you pull the trigger. You can't sit there like in the movies with it on your hip and spray bullets everywhere you have to aim. Also this last shooting he used a shot gun.

 

They are all just ''GUNS'' to them..

 

i have know idea what you refer to by that. was not on about your right to own guns side of what you said, but as you're american and i being from UK what i said would go over your head now wouldn't it.

I can understand how someone from the UK wouldn't understand constitutional rights. After all they don't have them and it is hard to explain some thing most people take for granted. After all how do you explain what free speech is like. Or what it is like to have something that says the government can't do this, this, and this to you because of the right is guaranteed under law. Now you can complain about what others do with this right. Like how people complain how certain groups shouldn't have the right of free speech because of what they say.

 

as shocking as this may seem but britain you can still own a gun not in the same way as in the us, not to protect the house more for sports shooting though there had been a couple of cases of it them being used for just said thing of protecting the home but our laws are stupid and what happen to owners.

may be i did over state the 100 round in a second but the point is still valid that the modern gun is far more powerful and can run of more round in a faster time than the guns of the time of the constitutions writing
i:e flint lock and percussion guns of the day.

as for free speech is a myth that keep getting banded about.

to the nra a few dead kids are worth the price to own more devastating weapons over tighter gun control.

I think the blame is mostly the media with the responsibility on the parents. I ll explain. We have rap music talking about how great it is to kill, rape and do violence. There is even a popular video showing them hanging out and having a good time in prison. Going to jail is considered a right of passage now. We have video games that promote violence. Grand thrift auto where you get points for killing hookers and cops. My child told me of a new game where part of the game is to get points for cooking meth. My child does not play those games Nor listen to rap. I do not allow it. Now as parents we need to teach our kids right from wrong, displine them when the behave, show them what actions are acceptable and what are not. We need to stop being friends with our kids and start being parents.

I have read and heard tales of young boys from way back when, prior to 1930s who would bring their rifles to school, prop them in corner of the classroom, fully loaded, so the could hunt on the way home from school. No one bothered the gun, no one got shot, no thought anything of it. Why? Because they knew better. The idea to do harm with that gun never crossed theor mind. Contrary to popular belief we can and should get back to that state of mind.

 

Heard a tale where farmer in england lived way out from everyone else got broken into, stolen from, and beat up. Three different occasions by the same thugs. On the fourth time he shot and killed one and severally wounded the other. He was arrested and charged with a violation and the country of england paid for the wounded one to sue the farmer for.damages.

Sorry England but where is the justice in that. Yes america has it is problems with violence and other things I still love it.

 

though i did not say it but that was one of the cases i was on about i see the stupidity of the criminal has more rights than the farmer i would liked to of seen them strung but hay ho.

but being on the outside looking i'm not on about the american right to own or not but the stupidity of what one would consider as protection compared to a few of the odd ball american demand they should be allowed to own.

 

I am 40, and from South Georgia. I graduated High School in 1991. While in High School, we didn't carry our hunting rifles into the school, but they were in our trucks, in a gun rack attached to the back window. Our principal was an avid hunter, and if he seen a gun he liked, he would carry the student to his/her truck and have the student take the gun out and he would look at it, and put it back. Unfortunately just last school year, a student was expelled when during a vehicle search a machete was found behind his seat. Just a sign of how the violence has changed the culture.

 

Do you still think we have free speech?
How many times has the govt. side stepped the constitution and went on with something not allowed by law?

 

Does anyone think, that the forefathers of the USA, when they wrote the constitution, envisioned that the right to bear arms would end up with their citizens turning the guns on themselves??

And as for the pro gun lobby (even though they dismiss all facts as government propaganda, here are the numbers, facts and figures.

They make interesting and alarming reading!
