  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

So I saw on TV that Colorado now has made weed legal. Then I heard Alaska is doing the same thing.

So my question is, when will it be legal in all 50 states?
What parts of the country will get it sooner?

I ask because I live in North Carolina, and am hoping it becomes legal here soon.

As with most progressive policies, they move from west coast to east coast. Now if they were to outlaw tobacco, Virginia and North Carolina may be looking for a new cash crop.

In answer to your first question, not soon enough.
Your second question would be better answered by a magic crystal 8 ball.

Except in Colorado and Washington, the electorate made it legal via a constitutional amendment. Not politicians.

How can anyone make money out of marijuana growing when it's virtually impossible to kill the plants? Just shove a few in your back yard and you'll never have to pay for your weed.

Even my cousin manages that, and he has less skill than I do when it comes to gardening; and I have fuck all. :excited:

All the states except for NY that have either medical marijuana or recreational marijuana, have done so by the initiative process and getting it on the ballot. The people have to do the hard labor.

The states like Texas who don't have an initiative process must lobby their congressmen to vote it in. We all know how gutless our leaders are to do the right thing so don't look for any help there. They are too worried about losing re-election votes and financial donations from bigoted religious groups, law enforcement unions, prison unions and treatment centers that rely on court appointed admissions.

I'm not sure about N. Carolina though. You could check with local chapters of NORML and get involved.

    http://norml.org/chapters/nc

This year Alaska, Oregon and California will likely have recreational weed on the ballot and the polls show they will pass.

There's even more states that will have Medical Marijuana on the ballot this year. We've passed the tipping point and prohibition is falling all over the world.

Here's a good story on progress.

If you have time and enjoy dirt weed I guess it's okay. Growing world class marijuana is another thing. Also, weed takes at least a few months to grow and unless you're growing inside with lights, there's only one flowering season. So say you're sitting around and would like to smoke a joint. What do you do? Plant a seed and wait untill Fall or mosey over to your local dispensary and purchase some weed?

Just like most people don't grow their own veggies, make their own wine or brew their own beer, the majority won't grow their own weed either. Many people don't have a place to grow it either. Sales will always be brisk.

I think he means there are many people who make a lot of money off illegal weed. What will all of the cops, lawyers, bail bondsmen, and politicians do for spending money?

Some people had to find different employment when Slavery was abolished also, it's called evolution and doing the right thing. At any rate, they could try to earn it the old fashion way. Arrest, prosecute, convict and imprison murderers, rapists, child molesters, kidnappers, thieves and others who commit crimes that harm others. That's not as easy as arresting peace loving marijuana consumers who pose no threat to anybody though...

You know, if you get burglarized, most times the police won't even come out to your house, you have to fill out a report by mail. My daughter had some kids vandalize her car one night in her driveway. She had a security camera and caught them on video. Police did nothing. However, they are quick to bust down a door and shoot the family dog if they think there's a joint being sold in some house somewhere.

What we are seeing is both drug cartels and law enforcement uniting together to fight legalization all for their own personal benefit and not for the rights of others.

    It's an uphill battle.

Uphill yes, but it will be legalized one day before too long. The voices are more and louder and politicos must hear it. Just a alcohol prohibition couldn't last due to it's public demand neither can these pot laws. I don't smoke it but I believe it should be made legal. We'd save a ton of money on enforcement, judicial and incarceration.

I agree. It is much easier and safer to bust a few smokers than a murderer. More profitable also.

Right! We're experiencing the end of marijuana prohibition right now. Although it's been a battle, we'll see legalization sooner than later at this point.

Here is a list of some interesting stories on The Joint Blog if anybody cares.

Kentucky Senator Files Legislation to Legalize Medical Marijuana.

Bipartisan Proposal to Legalize Medical Marijuana in Pennsylvania.

It is about time we went through the laws and removed those that do not make sense or say the opposite of another law.
It should be much easier to enforce the law without useless and outdated laws and especially those laws that say the opposite of other laws.

In my humble opinion the legalization of marijuana will spread from state to state as it becomes fairly obvious that much of the scare talk was simply not true, and that the disadvantages of legality are much less than the disadvantages of keeping the stuff illegal.

Unfortunately, this may take a generation. Poorly educated white Republicans in the deep south are slow learners. They think marijuana is more dangerous than the lead infected moonshine they drink. Lots of them still favor laws against inter racial marriage (even though many are rumored to have sex with their sisters.)

(I know. I know. When did the Master of Facts ever have a humble opinion about anything?)
