  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

I live in Oregon and right now we have one town on strike and the other just voted to strike on the 20th. Why do are kids education have to suffer because the teachers strike during the school year. It also pisses me off that the teachers and parents get the kids to go on the news and talk about how they miss there teacher so much and they want to get back to school. Aaaaaaawwwwwww

    What do you all think?

What good would it do for the teachers to strike during the summer?
Sort of like all unemployed people going on a strike.
    No one would care.

Not to be rude but that has to be one of the dumbest questions I've heard here.

Yes indeed there are. However, I imagine striking during the summer probably isn't one of those ways.

during this time, I'd Advise the affected Parents to Delve into the School Districts FINANCIAL books. IT's UNCANNY how much "Administration" costs have jumped compared to Teachers Salaries. However; it is the simplest rule of Labor strikes; You Strike when it will have the MOST effect. Striking during the summer would be about as effective as casting votes for an elected official before or after election day, or selling snow shovels in the summer.

Using emotionally charged arguments is exactly how politicians sway public opinion in their favor. Barack Obama is an arrant example.

Not every state allows teachers to even have the option to strike at all. In New Hampshire, for example, a teacher strike is illegal.

Which is why any employee who goes on strike should be charged with blackmail.

Just about all schools now have more people employed in administration that they have teachers. The better part of the money goes to those who work in admin. The coaches are paid pretty well though.
With a little research the people could see where most of the money is going.

I don't know, I don't think you should be able to force someone to work, and charge them with blackmail if they refuse. You should be able to sue someone for breach of contract, if there is indeed a breach of contract. Ideally we could just give employers the right to sack people who go on strike.

At the moment you can’t be dismissed for industrial action if it’s called as a result of a properly organised ballot and a detailed notice about the industrial action (which is legally required) has been given to the employer at least 7 days before the strike begins. (talking UK here, not sure about the USA)

    I agree.

Especially when you say 'Why do ARE kids have to suffer', and 'THERE teacher'.

I assume you were traumatized by teacher strikes every time you should have been going to English class.

You wouldn't be doing. They can refuse to work by simply resigning and going to work for someone else.

But without the right to strike, workers are left with no arena for protesting against unfair wages or working conditions; basically a return to feudal life.
