The number that I posted was for "screen credits", if his name was not in the credits, it didn't count.

I do not know how you could get the number for actual "star billing" roles, but I would guess that most of them were as such.

The reason I "guess" that, is that Rooney had star recognition very early in his career, producers would be eager to give him star billing to attract attention to their film, no matter how small the part was. An example would be Night at the Museum, Mickey got star billing, Owen Wilson was uncredited.

 

I made the same guess; I just wondered if your google-fu was any stronger than mine.

 

You know the criteria, Box office gross, awards, critical acclaim, not your own definition which is totally bogus..

Box office gross would have to be adjusted for inflation, otherwise Orlando Bloom is probably the best actor in history and I don't see anyone willing to defend that argument. Would you accept, any film that turned a profit? Or any film listed in the "top so-many" of its year? (I have no idea if those statistics would be available.)

 

Rick should be forgiven due to his dementia.

However, I do not think that there is any criteria that would meet with satisfaction of everyone.

Rooney has a total of 338 appearances including many on TV. He is bested by John Carradine who had roles in 340 films including some TV movies. I am tired of this subject since you have reflected failure to prove your original assertion. Play all you want with your definitions (talk about subjective) and your "movie vernacular" BS.
