No, not a single person woke up. Each side has just gone into hibernation. By that I mean they are sticking their heads farther up their own ass. Each side believes everything their party says and believes the other side is lying. They can be saying the same thing but one side is a liar and the other is on the left hand of god.
Funny how two people can say the same thing but only one is telling the truth and the other is a damn liar. Got to be a democrat or a republican to understand that.

 

I think we both said the same thing. Both sides only seem to care about what the other is doing. And they both have the it's my way or the highway attitude when dealing with each other. Since the only solution is to clean house on both sides. And that is the part that none of us see happening.


But I do also hold some hope out we saw during the government shutdown bills pass with hundred percent support from both sides. This means there is some hope but they need to pull their heads out of their asses to do it.

 

The only bills that pass with 100% support is pay raises for politicians. Another that usually gets close to 100% is the one making the politicians immune to the laws the common people have to obey. Pork added to all bills seem to have pretty good support. Raising the debt limit always goes over.
Seems like they seem to be able to pull together when they personally benefit from a bill.

 

True pay raises are usually the only bills to pass with complete support but we saw bills that gave complete back pay to the vets and soldiers during the shutdown so there is some hope. Though nothing will get done as long as Mich McConnell, Harry Reid, John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama are in power all five of them are escalating the partisanship we are experiencing.

 

Vets and soldiers would have gotten their pay no matter what the politicians decided. Saying they passed a bill so they would get paid was just grand standing. It meant absolutely nothing. They would have gotten their money any way. One problem we have is people actually believe politicians when they say something like we passed a bill so our servicemen and vets would be paid.

I saying the seeds of this partisanship were sown during the Bush administration. And we can't ignore his part in it just as we can't ignore Obama's and his lackeys parts.

Well, the benefits and improvements in our nation having been vast during Obama's tenure in office have been wonderful. Pity so much more could not have been done, yet the most obvious result being how ridiculous, outrageous and desperate the right has exposed itself as being. It's a shame really, one in where only the American citizen loses as the right goes out of its way to not do what is best for the people, yet simply fight every proposal from the left tooth and nail, right or wrong of no matter, all just to tear down instead of build.

Typically a Republican household, the antics of the right have really made us rethink our political leanings. Not that we'll ever change much from our "best person for the job" attitude, but the past two terms have realy made it so we have to seriously question any right wing offerings.

The Obama administration has been a very welcome and very needed breath of fresh air in this country. I'll be sorry to see it go as we most likely move back to "business as usual" at the detriment of the people once he is gone.
