I have a hard time understanding why anyone would want to put
a piece of art on their body that they would NEVER put on their wall
at home.

Most people will agree that the "HOTSTUFF" lil devil or a
"Yosemite Sam" tattoo will probably be regreted.

But I wonder what the people who get art are thinking.

Is there ANY piece of art that they have seen and enjoied for more than
a few years???

And Finally what is it that YOU find attractive in a tattoo.... is it the art
of it or that its says...

"I'm short sited and do anything with my body"

Religious, memorials and Tribal tattoos are the exceptions

well i think it depends on the person and what they get. like my boyfriend has a tatoo of his city name, which will always mean something to him, no matter how old her gets. for me, i don't think i'd ever get one, just for this reason. i'd be hard to find one that i would enjoy the rest of my life. the only place id consider is one on my lower hip, so only my boyfriend/husband would enjoy it and i could hid it if i want.

 

I understand the city name... but does it make him more attractive or a billboard?

Interesting question. I don't have a tat, but my wife does on her lower back (perhaps you have seen it on my thread). It's a little bit of self expression, and a lot of that we both feel that it looks hot. Some people agree...some don't.

She has had it for about four or five years and liked it so much that she recently went and got it extended a bit. No regrets at this point. Will she regret it when she's sixty? Who knows? By then they will probably have easier removal methods anyway.

Regardless, I think it's quite a generalization to assume that all tat lovers are "short sighted" and "willing to do anything with their bodies". Again, we find it Hot and if we don't find it hot in ten or twenty years, what's the biggy?

I`ve got a tatto that wraps my left arm,goes across my chest,down my rib cage and across my back. Way to much to ever have removed.I have no regrets and might even add to it at some point.Most days I dont even see it,until someone points it out to me!

 

he's got a few others and i like them, but not so much like that first girl. he'd be just as attractvie without them but they do accent the arms very nicely (i have a lil thing for guys' arms). personally, tatoos aren't my favorite thing, but if they're done tastefully and not overdone then they look pretty good.

 

So I hear NO REGRETS for the tattoo'ed, and your significant other "LIKES THEM" thats good.

well let's see, my friend has two tatoos. she has the one on her lower hip of a heart and on on her upper ass of a butterfly. personally i don't like the butterfly one at all, and i think she'll regret them when she's older. but the heart is pretty sexy and very classic.

but let's see here i do think some tatoos make people look hotter, but most of the time it doesn't really change their overall appearance.

For all my posture and tattoo bashing (actually I'm not bashing just curious),
I have considered tattoos in my youth.... and I'm glad I did not, they were dorky.

Today I consider a tattoo of my weding ring because my work procludes wearing rings, or any jewlery.... still thinking

 

Wedding Ring

My husband had his wedding ring tatoo'ed on. I really like it because I know that he can never go to a strip club or anything else and take his ring off - insurance for me!! He did it as a grand gesture to show me that he wants it to be forever. As for making him more attractive....to most people no I guess, although it is quite the conversation piece, but to me it does. My 2nd wife had a heart with her first husband's name Sam Love (he's dead so it doesn't matter), it didn't bother me because I knew when she had it done it was an act of love for him.

I also met him, the poor guy, an absolute alky at that time. He and his buddies got their welfare checks, rented a motel room, bought booze and drank and watched TV until they were broke again, then were out on the street until their next check. What a life. They found him under a tree, he had been dead for 2 days.
