Oprah Winfrey made some shocking comments in a recent interview with BBC, when she alluded that the only reason someone wouldn’t like President Barack Obama is if they were a racist.
When the interviewer asked Oprah if she thought people were against Obama because he was black, she responded, “There’s no question.”
She went on to say that she thinks “there’s a level of disrespect for the office that occurs. And that occurs in some cases because he’s African American. There’s no question about that. And it’s the kind of thing no one ever says, buy everybody is thinking.”
Apparently Oprah isn’t aware that her comments don’t set her apart. Instead, they group her with a slew of Obama supporters that claim that disapproval of the president stems from either religious or racial discrimination. And she clearly hasn’t paid attention to stations like MSNBC or “celebrities” like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.
She certainly isn’t alone in her accusations, but continued on to make a statement about racisms in general, stating that “As long as people can be judged by the color of their skin, problem’s not solved.”

So when does Oprah see racism coming to an end?
“There are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice and racism,” Oprah said, “and they just have to die.”
That’s right, according to Oprah, when everyone who ever had a racist ancestor dies, America will be set free from all of its problems.

Who in the hell would listen to what Oprah has to say anyway?
She is just one person and has her opinion just like everyone else.
Like most rich people, take away her money and she would just be another old fat colored woman mumbling to herself.

But, to clarify on little point of discord, I do not think the OP "lied", I think he read something into the story that wasn't there. We all have reading comprehension problems, occasionally, right stumbles? Mistakes do happen, they are not necessarily "lies", just because one disagrees with the interpretation of text.

However, I read the same story and came away with the same conclusion, the old, dyed in the wool, racists need to die off before the broad existance of white racism are erased.

Too bad that I don't see the same impetus being taken on black racism, our inner cities are rife with race hatred, Blacks against Hispanics, Hispanics against Asian, Asian against Arabs and all of the combinations thereof. This troubles me far more than the waning problems of White racism against Blacks.

What is racism? One quick answer is something I stole from the 'net:

Racism of any kind is wrong, white racism against blacks is a well established reality.

Why do you think that she was incorrect to state the following?

It doesn't say that all white people should be killed, it doesn't say that all old white racists should be killed, it does seem to say that those folks won't change their opinions until they die.

So I guess I'll have to set this discussion straight. Racism is not the real problem. Racism is just a symptom or fragment of the real problem. The real problem is prejudice and discrimination and racism is only one example of that. Prejudice and discrimination exist because they benefit the dominate class in any given environment and sometimes the component is race, but it can actually be between any given groups. For example billionaires can be prejudiced and discriminate against millionaires regardless of race.

 

BULLSHIT,,racism is the culture of allowing a specific race to become and wallow in the state of being a victim.

If any race is going allow themselves to stay a victim, then yes,, racism is going to exist forever.
