I am sort of gifted to be able to understand what a person is saying when they try to cover their own ass. Usually the words she does say are bad enough.

If you look at the entire interview and in particular the two quote dealing with "old racists" and people who dislike Obama because he is black, it is not a stretch to think that she was talking about white racists. While you are technically correct that she did not make a statement that would verbatim, support the OP's thread title, it does not mean that the title is not substantially correct.

Early in this thread I expressed my opinion that she was correct in saying that there are those old (white) racists who were so steeped in racism, that they will need to die off before progress can be made in those camps. She did not say that they needed to tbe killed or exterminated.

However, her comments about the disrespect for President Obama being of a racial nature are totally off base. When President Clinton tried to overhaul the US health care system , he was soundly defeated in the attempt, who was it that opposed him?? The same basic people who opposed President Obama's ACA, they weren't called racist when they opposed Clinton, why are they racist now? As far as disrespect for the office, President Obama doesn't begin to receive the level of disrespect that President Bush did. Why is it racist now, but not when it was leveled againd George W. Bush??

Racist claims are thrown out far too easily when a person criticizes our sitting president, it's a total cop-out, a convenient way to overlook the debacle that this administration has wrought.

 

No matter how you slice it, you are putting words in her mouth that she did not say. You can hem and haw all you want, she did not say the word 'white'. All of your words are an attempt to justify your hated from her.

 

Perhaps you have a comprehension problem, I did not say that she said the word "white", what I said was that given the rest of the interview, she certainly made the implication that she was referring to white racists. Now are you denying this? If you are, who was she referring to??

Shall we ask her father, Vernon has a barber shop just a couple of miles from me. He knows his daughters mind and so do most of her old neighbors here.

 

Implications are in the minds of the observer, you choose to think she implied that because of your opinion about her as a person.

In my view she was referring to all old people as being responsible for racism. Children of today are very capable of having friends of any race. Far more than they would have been allowed even 30 years ago. There are parts of the world that do have racist young people, but I can only hope that will change gradually. We just have to wait a few generations.

You won't convince me of your view, nor will I convince you of mine. We will just have to agree to disagree.

That's probably because he's not. Considering how he has chastised other Blacks for their behaviors, I'd hardly think he fits the definition of racist.

Racism has been touted by liberals (including yourself) to be a white on black problem. When a highly visible person, Oprah, who herself is a black person raised in the South, makes a statement regarding racists, she sure as hell is not talking about black on white racism. Only a totally intellectually deprived person could possibly think that, or of course a person who is trying to dodge an issue would likely make that claim.

Why would I try to disparage her? I agree with her statement. What I am saying is, given her background, the context of the interview, I logically concluded that she was not speaking of black racists.
