The development of "Iron Dome" and other ABM systems is often based on mutual capabilities and shared research and development: many nations allied with, or associated with, the United States have gained for the better.

The missile must also be effective against Iron Dome.

For that, the missile must be deployed from sub-orbit and must descend at orbital velocity. Otherwise, Iron Dome will be able to take it out.

The countries are too close together. The missile goes up and comes down like a parabola. By the time it reaches the top of its arc, it has already flown too far and would come back down somewhere in the Mediterranean. That is why it has to do a full orbit before coming back down.

You are thinking about ICBMs. They are designed for use between continents.

I am talking of, as the displays of the missiles indicated, theater ballistic missiles.

Iron Dome itself has proven efficient in defending Israel from the rockets being launched from Gaza, which is wonderful.
Against theater ballistic missiles, it might prove as effective.

The reason I specifically mentioned about a massive combination strike from Iran of conventional high-explosive, mixed with WMD's, is for one purpose, and the one weakness any system has, even the Patriot or Aegis: overwhelm it by sheer numbers.

Ballistic missiles usually have two points in which they can be countered: during the initial boost-phase of the missile itself, and during the final descent of the warhead.
The second part is what Israel faces, especially from Iran.

The Hamas-launched rockets usually follow a simple and shallow flight arc, and thus can be intercepted with great accuracy.
The missiles used by Iran are ballistic in nature, and even thus, can reach Israel.

I hope an attack on Israel never happens, or if it does, then that the Iron Dome has a few surprises in its interception abilities.

Given the treasonous actions of the Obama-admin, I would not put it past them to have already sold Israel's defenses down the river with Iran.

Look on SMC's maps. Gee. I guess there were not any CHRISTIANS in Palestine, in 1946. Right?

We constantly hear about how the Palestinians have been shafted by the Jews. Land grabs. Night lynchings. Pogroms. Massacres. Settler encroachment. And on, and on. The Jews have made peaceful coexistence impossible, we're told.

Why do we never hear about Jews grabbing land from Christians? Or Jews lynching Christians. Or Jews spoiling the crops of Christians at checkpoints? Or Jews letting little old Christian ladies die at checkpoints?

I mean, if the Jews were these hitleresque jackboot thugs conducting lowgrade ethnic/religious cleansing for the past six decades, they would have wiped out all the Christians, too. Right? And confined them to little Gaza-esque slivers of their own.
