excuse u , the british first did granted the land with the prime minister promise , THEN the UN agreed to the suggestion

the promise was at 1911 , the UN decision was at 1947 or so cant really remember

the funny thing is neither had the right of the land , the first was a conqueror and the 2nd was just a bunch of countries who didn't give a fuck about those who already live there

and that's our whole point , no one ever asked us , we just got kicked out of our land by some ppl so others can get it and call it home , so others can come at us and tell us it is their land

The people who lived in it were not uprooted, nor forcibly evicted. Their land was bought and paid for, with their willing agreement. It is only Jordan which deprived people of their own land and abrogated it to the government's possession.

The Ottomans only had it by conquest. Before that, the Mamelukes only had it by conquest. The Romans, in their turn, only had it by conquest ... this is all irrelevant. The international legal authority is the United Nations. What they decide, is law.

Wrong again. At no point in the entire history of the world has Britain had possession of the Palestinian territories. You really do need to read up on your history so that you might look like you know what you're talking about.

When the Ottoman Empire disintegrated and left no government in charge of the area, the League of Nations stepped in and appointed a British mandate, with the specific aim of long-term independence. That aim was completed in 1948 when two new countries were created; Israel, for the Jews already resident in the area, and Jordan, for the Palestinians likewise.

It is Jordan, Egypt and Syria who have tried to illegally invade and occupy other people's lands. They have consistently failed. Indeed, between them they lost Gaza and the West Bank as a consequence, and now the Israelis are flouting international law by building Jewish settlements in those areas which don't belong to them. But for you to argue that Israel has no legal right to exist is a complete waste of everybody's time, your own included. You have no justification for it, and trying to destroy them by force is doing the Palestinians far more harm them good. Concentrate your efforts on persuading them to save their own lives by not fighting unwinnable wars.

PLEASE READ IN ENITRE TO UNDERSTAND WHY THE GREAT MIX UP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Mandate_for_Palestine_(legal_instrument) In early 1921, prior to the convening of the Cairo Conference, the Middle East Department of the Colonial Office set out the situation as follows:
Distinction to be drawn between Palestine and Trans-Jordan under the Mandate. His Majesty's Government are responsible under the terms of the Mandate for establishing in Palestine a national home for the Jewish people. They are also pledged by the assurances given to the Sherif of Mecca in 1915 to recognise and support the independence of the Arabs in those portions of the (Turkish) vilayet of Damascus in which they are free to act without detriment to French interests. The western boundary of the Turkish vilayet of Damascus before the war was the River Jordan. Palestine and Trans-Jordan do not, therefore, stand upon quite the same footing. At the same time, the two areas are economically interdependent, and their development must be considered as a single problem. Further, His Majesty's Government have been entrusted with the Mandate for "Palestine." If they wish to assert their claim to Trans-Jordan and to avoid raising with other Powers the legal status of that area, they can only do so by proceeding upon the assumption that Trans-Jordan forms part of the area covered by the Palestine Mandate. In default of this assumption Trans-Jordan would be left, under article 132 of the Treaty of Sevres, to the disposal of the principal Allied Powers. Some means must be found of giving effect in Trans-Jordan to the terms of the Mandate consistently with "recognition and support of the independence of the Arabs

Map showing boundaries (in red) of the proposed protectorate of Palestine, as suggested by the Zionist representatives at the 1919 Paris Peace Conference, superimposed on modern boundaries.

Further information: Borders of Israel and Borders of Jordan
[h=3]Northern borders[edit][/h]The Northern boundary between the British and French mandates was defined in broad terms by the Franco-British Boundary Agreement of December 1920.[SUP][69][/SUP] That agreement placed the bulk of the Golan Heights in the French sphere. The treaty also established a joint commission to settle the precise border and mark it on the ground.[SUP][69][/SUP] The commission submitted its final report on 3 February 1922, and it was approved with some caveats by the British and French governments on 7 March 1923, several months before Britain and France assumed their Mandatory responsibilities on 29 September 1923.[SUP][70][/SUP][SUP][71][/SUP] Under the treaty, Syrian and Lebanese residents would have the same fishing and navigation rights on Lake Hula, Lake Tiberias, and the Jordan River as citizens of the Palestine Mandate, but the government of Palestine would be responsible for policing of the lakes. The Zionist movement pressured the French and British to include as much water sources as possible to Palestine during the demarcating negotiations. These constant demands influenced the negotiators and finally led to the inclusion of the whole Sea of Galilee, both sides of the Jordan river, Lake Hula, Dan spring, and part of the Yarmouk. The High Commissioner of Palestine, Herbert Samuel, had demanded full control of the Sea of Galilee.[SUP][72][/SUP] The new border followed a 10-meter wide strip along the northeastern shore.[SUP][73][/SUP]
Following the settlement of the Northern border issue, the British and French governments signed on 2 February 1926 an Agreement of good neighbourly Relations between the mandated territories of Palestine, Syria and Lebanon.[SUP][74][/SUP]
[h=3]Southern borders[edit][/h]The Southern border between Palestine and Egypt was left unchanged from the border established between Egypt and the Ottoman Empire in 1906.[SUP][75][/SUP]
The Southern border between Transjordan and Arabia was left undefined whilst Abdullah's father remained in power in the Kingdom of Hejaz. However, following the 1924-25 Saudi conquest of Hejaz, the Hashemite army fled to the northern Ma'an province of Hejaz, which was then annexed by Transjordan. This was formalised by the 1925 Hadda agreement, with the resulting zig-zag border becoming known as Winston's Hiccup.[SUP][76][/SUP]
[h=3]Eastern borders[edit][/h]The Eastern border between Transjordan and Iraq was not agreed until 1922, and not formally documented until 1932.[SUP][77][/SUP][SUP][78][/SUP][SUP][79][/SUP]
[h=3]Administrative divisions in Palestine[edit][/h]The August 1922 Palestine Order in Council provided that:
The High Commissioner may, with the approval of a Secretary of State, by Proclamation divide Palestine into administrative divisions or districts in such manner and with such subdivisions as may be convenient for purposes of administration describing the boundaries thereof and assigning names thereto.[SUP][80][/SUP]

The British made two potentially conflicting promises regarding the territory it was expecting to acquire.[SUP][citation needed][/SUP] In the McMahon-Hussein Correspondence of 1915 Britain had promised Hussein bin Ali, Sharif of Mecca, through T. E. Lawrence, independence for an Arab country covering most of the Arab Middle East in exchange for his support, while also promising to create and foster a Jewish national home in Palestine in the Balfour Declaration of 1917, in return for Jewish support.

I still want to know why the Palestinians do not want to be citizens of Israel, with all the benefits, privileges and prosperity thereto.

What's the problem? They prefer to eke out a 35 year lifespan in houses made of cardboard and burlap?

The other thing I want to know is what would have happened to Christian holy sites (or is it holly sites????) like Bethlehem, if the Palestinians had been left in charge of those places.

Under Palestinian rule, Christian pilgrims risked their lives to see Bethelehem.

The creche of the Lord Christ would have a much more responsible steward under the Jews.

The Jews are good, kind and gracious.

The Palestinians are fucking animals. No offense.

    http://news.yahoo.com/rockets-found-un-gaza-school-went-missing-010208751.html

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The U.N. secretary-general on Wednesday said he was "alarmed" to hear that rockets were placed in a U.N.-run school in Gaza and now "have gone missing," and he demanded a full review of such incidents.

A statement by the spokesman for Ban Ki-moon expressed the U.N. chief's "outrage and regret" at the placement of weapons at a site run by the global organization. The U.N. says that has happened at least twice so far in the current fighting.

"Those responsible are turning schools into potential military targets, and endangering the lives of innocent children," U.N. staff and anyone seeking shelter, the statement said.

The rockets had been placed at one of the schools run by the U.N. refugee agency for Palestinians, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in Gaza.

Once they were found, "in accordance with standard practice, UNRWA handed them over to the local authorities. Since then, they have gone missing," Ban's deputy spokesman, Farhan Haq, said in an e-mail Wednesday evening.

The Islamic militant group Hamas controls Gaza. The U.S., Israel and the European Union all consider Hamas a terrorist organization, but the U.N. does not.

A week ago, UNRWA said that during a routine check it discovered about 20 rockets hidden in one of its vacant Gaza schools and called on militants to respect the "sanctity and integrity" of U.N. property. It said the incident was "the first of its kind in Gaza."

On Tuesday, UNRWA reported a second incident, saying it found rockets hidden at a vacant school during a regular inspection. "UNRWA staff were withdrawn from the premises, and so we are unable to confirm the precise number of rockets," its statement said. "The school is situated between two other UNRWA schools that currently each accommodate 1,500 internally displaced persons."

The statement said UNRWA was looking at all possible ways to safely remove the rockets and would investigate the incident.

Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird said in a statement late Wednesday that he was appalled to hear reports of the stockpiling of rockets in U.N. facilities. He called on the U.N. to launch an immediate independent investigation.

"Even more alarming were reports that in the first case, officials with the United Nations returned these weapons to Hamas, a listed terrorist organization, once Israeli officials discovered their location," he said.

The U.N. statement Wednesday said Ban has asked for the immediate development of a plan to safely handle any weapons found on U.N. premises, and he told the U.N. Mine Action Service to immediately send people to deal with the situation of the missing rockets.

"The United Nations is taking concerted action to increase its vigilance in preventing such episodes from happening again," the statement said.

The statement also demanded that militant groups stop such actions and be held accountable for endangering civilians.

UNRWA tweeted Monday that more than 83,000 people were now taking refuge in its schools in Gaza, and the "numbers are growing."

Gaza conflict: UN launches probe into possible Israeli war crimes, US votes against it

The United Nations has launched an international inquiry into allegations of human rights violations and war crimes that may have been committed by Israel during its military offensive in the Gaza Strip.

The resolution came as Gaza fighting continued to rage, displacing thousands more Palestinians and raising their death toll to 687, mostly civilians.

Palestinian medics said two worshippers were killed and 30 wounded in an attack on a mosque in the densely populated Zeitoun neighbourhood in eastern Gaza City on Wednesday.

In southern Abassan and Khuzaa villages, residents said they were besieged by Israeli snipers who wounded two Palestinians as they tried to emerge from hiding with white flags in hand.

The Israeli army also seized Wafa hospital in eastern Gaza, saying it had been used to shelter Hamas fighters. Patients were removed ahead of time after receiving warnings of the pending assault.

About 46 schools, 56 mosques and seven hospitals have also suffered varying degrees of destruction.

UN high commissioner cites possible war crimes on both sides

UN High Commissioner Navi Pillay, a former UN war crimes judge, says Israel may have committed war crimes by killing civilians and shelling houses and hospitals during its offensive in Gaza, which began on July 8.

She also condemned the firing of rockets and mortars by Palestinian militants into Israel, saying such acts also constitute breaches of international law.

Ms Pillay cited cases of Israeli airstrikes and shells hitting houses and hospitals in the crowded coastal enclave.

"These are just a few examples where there seems to be a strong possibility that international humanitarian law has been violated, in a manner that could amount to war crimes," she said.

"Every one of these incidents must be properly and independently investigated."

Israel has abided by the cease fire, several times, unfortunately Hamas hasn't.

    I took this out of RR's post;

The U.N. is as corrupt as it comes, the U.N. does not even see Hamas as a terrorist group, FIGHT ON ISRAEL,,FIGHT ON.

Clarise, we're not talking about Jews, Muslims or Christians; we're talking about Israeli's and Palestinians. It's okay if you believe the map I posted to be some kind of lie, the truth is the truth, no matter what you believe.

But anyway, on to those damned Palestinians killing the Christians (lol).

The truth about Palestinian Christians (Clarise, you might want to gen up a wee bit on what’s really happening over there, my sweet):

I saw Clarise’s post about Christians in Palestine, where she is, obviously, trying to mind-bend us away from realising that Palestinian Christians are also under attack from the Hilter-esque Zionist barbarians. Surely, with so many Christians living in the occupied territories, and with the Israeli army (I’m sure), not questioning whether the weapons they lock and load before firing on communities are all Muslim or part Christian, or even European or Slavic, or Indo-Chinese.

Truth time folks: Christians have lived in Palestine since the birth of Christ – whether he’s real or not is a totally moot point. One could safely assume that a country would hold people practicing many, many faiths, adding to the richness of religious culture. But, not all Christians are white-skinned westeners; yet, this is what Clarise would have us believe, because the Palestinian Christians are being targeted just as much as the Palestinian Muslims. Because they’re the same damn colour!!

This…argument, debate, whatever…it was never about religion; it has always been about a nation land grabbing and terrorising people while the rest of the world helped by demonising the very people who are being terrorised!

To turn this into a religious debate is as futile as arguing over whether Protestants should leave Northern Ireland.

Case in point (and this is something I heard first-hand); when the nation of Israel was founded just after the war and the survivors of ww2 were sent (rehomed) in the brand new, squeaky clean, built-for-purpose state, questions were asked by these soon-to-new-inhabitants about the people whose land they were moving on to. Because I bet, what with being victimised by the original jack-booted Nazis, the latest in a long line of pogroms and genocide historically, the last thing the ordinary Jo(seph) would want to do is force someone out of a home their families have lived in for generations. You know what they were told? They were told that “No humans live there.” Isn’t this what that good-ol’ boy, H himself, thought of the Jews? What about untermenschen, or sub-human? And, by golly, by the time these new inhabitants showed up, they walked into homes that the Palestinians had been, sometimes, forcibly evicted from. And we’re talking having to leave their homes with just the clothes on their backs. The Muslims weren’t forced to leave their homes…the Palestinians were and it didn’t matter which religion they followed.

Don’t believe me, why not read up for yourself:

    http://electronicintifada.net/conte...tine-misrepresentation-and-dispossession/6280

    One telling paragraph reads thus:

It is disconcerting that the portrayal of the Christian absence in Palestine, for example, is often played off as the fault of Muslims and not of the illegal Israeli occupation, as if Muslims are oppressing Christians and that this is the root of the problem for Palestinians. It is the occupation that has made life so difficult that many Christians have moved from Palestine.

    http://mondoweiss.net/2012/07/why-christians-are-leaving-occupied-palestine.html

    ---

Now to address the point Clarise made regarding the map I posted earlier in this thread, you know the one, the one that showing how the Israeli government has grabbed the land from the Palestinians, as per the 1946 agreement. Clarise paints it as ‘Hilter-esque’, when it is factual; if you don’t believe me, do your own research on the internet, get evidence that proves otherwise and educate me…but good luck with that, there’s no way you could legitimately post any other version of this truth, because there is none.

So, let’s get back on track, Clarise; the nation of Israel is land-grabbing from the Palestinians; not the Jews grabbing from the Muslims. And to back this up, I will give you another link, or perhaps three, or four.

    http://stopwar.org.uk/news/why-jews...-of-palestine-and-attack-on-gaza#.U81PVkCmWmM

    http://mondoweiss.net/2014/07/memorials-palestinian-buildings.html

You’ll love this one, Clarise; it’s a group actually called Jews for Justice for Palestinians; see, they recognise the boot-stomping hilteresque activities by the Israeli government and army exactly for what it is: unjust, unfair, inhumane.

    http://jfjfp.com/

Take a read, educate yourself, go look for evidence backing up the claim by the Palestinians. Let’s see your own evidence that Muslims are attacking Christians in Palestine. I will state once more that this isn’t a religious war, it’s a race war. It’s Israel vs Palestine. And quite frankly, it’s time to stop giving Israel a free pass, it’s time to stand up to them instead of allowing them to hide behind the mass genocide the Jewish people have suffered historically (in every country there has been a Jewish presence), and tell them no more!

This isn’t me giving the Palestinian Authority a free pass, either – or Hammas – it’s time we forced them to lay down arms and come to the table to talk about peace. And once we have communication flowing between the two sides, then they can discuss ownership of land and find a way for two nations to cohabit peacefully without kids being torn to shreds by anonymous rocket fire or picked off in sniper attacks or being the victims of any act of terror.

This might seem far-fetched, like some kind of unattainable dream, but look at the Berlin Wall; that came down in my lifetime, a sign that sometimes, people actually wake the fuck up and start treating each other like the human beings we are.

Calling or supporting a mass-slaughter like some are doing in this thread is condoning the actions of one side or another. But genocide is wrong, no matter what region of the world you practice your religion in.

Awhile ago I saw a cartoon that had a Palestinian terrorist firing at Israeli soldiers. The Palestinian terrorist was hiding behind a Palestinian baby carriage.

There was also an Israeli soldier firing at Palestinian terrorists. He was in front of an Israeli baby carriage.

If anyone has this cartoon, please post it. I want it for my collection.

The Israelis are people like us. They are civilized.
