I still can't find any information on the protestor that was shot by Nother protestor.
Now some more have been shot.
The cops did not do it.
For some reason the shooters and those who have been shot do not seem to matter or they are being kept quiet for a reason.
I would be very interested in that reason.

You are correct, I agree 100%... This all started after 9/11. After 9/11 the Bush administration encouraged police departments around the country to militarize and made surplus military equipment available to them at little or no cost through grants and other programs.

 

What you say is correct. I live in Birmingham, and I was a living in the city centre at the time of the riots. It was happening literally outside my apartment. What I witnessed were about 2/3 black, 1/4 white and a small number of Asians. It certainly was not just one race rioting like there has been in the past. But it is also true to say that demographically Birmingham is quite different to much of the rest of the country, in the urban area, the largest ethnic population is Asian, followed by white people, with black people making up a small minority. Quite different to the demographics of the rioters.

The riots were primarily about the opportunity to loot.

 

Conservatives. On several occasions I have pointed out that during the 1960's the prison population declined and the crime rate doubled. Since the inauguration of Ronald Reagan in 1981 the prison population has tripled, and the crime rate has declined by one third.

An additional factor in the decline in the crime rate has been the Roe v. Wade decision of 1973 and the increase in abortions that followed. The kind of females who are most likely to have abortions are also most likely to have boy babies who grow up to become criminals. They are unmarried and stupid. Hundreds of thousands of potential criminals were aborted in 1974. They would have been eighteen in 1992, when the violent crime rate began to decline.

That militarism has turned into a blood bath for innocent people that are mistakenly believed to be involved with drugs. The very stupid and very dangerous drug war is killing more people by police, destroying private property and injuring more innocent adults and children than the drugs themselves. These pigs have been turned loose with enough firepower to destroy a small city for one little baggy of pot and the cops are usually extremely trigger happy, unprofessional, rude, hateful and inconsiderate to innocent people that they bust in on by their mistakes. The damn cops should be stripped down to nothing more than a 38 special.

During the black ghetto riots of that happened in the United States from 1964 to 1968 man white radicals likened the riots to the Hungarian Uprising. That was preposterous. The War in Vietnam had driven those white radicals crazy.

Semi automatic? The thugs have access to fully automatic firearms and other more dangerous things. We all have seen the footage of the North Hollywood shootout.

This is also why they made military vehicles available to police departments.

 

I just saw a picture that got me to thinking, so i dug up every photo i could of the riots and just as i suspected by the size of the crowds in the pictures and the various times of day it's pretty safe bet that*not one*of those people work a job. The few whites that i saw were only in evening pix so if the government would make them work instead of giving them everything they would not have time to riot or would be tired from working and not want to go riot. Just sayin

 

The entire police department doesn't need full swat team power all the time. Why does a cop doing parking tickets need an AR-15 plus 2 pistols a shotgun and a host of other shit to write a ticket.

 

That was a once in a lifetime thing. Even still, when they got those weapons on scene they were still ineffective because the armor the perps had on. Hell the cops went into the local gun store right there at it and got the most powerful rifle the guy had in the store and it didn't help any at all. The reason i am against the police being that heavily armed is because most hot head cops are trigger happy and way to quick to shoot what turns out to be an unarmed person, but it's too late because the person is cut into 15 pieces with 200 rounds of ammo from the cops and is dead.

Ferguson fallout: Obama opens door to ‘re-examining’ military gear program for local police

President Obama opened the door Monday to re-evaluating a massive Defense Department program that sends military equipment to local police forces, in the wake of concerns about the St. Louis County Police Department's response to riots and protests in Ferguson, Missouri.

"There is a big difference between our military and our local law enforcement, and we don't want those lines blurred," Obama said.

The concerns are connected to a U.S. military program that gives away free military gear to local law enforcement (including those in the St. Louis suburb). According to the Defense Department, a total of 8,000 agencies at all levels of government participate in the so-called 1033 program. Since its start in 1997, the program has transferred more than $4.3 billion in equipment to these agencies. Last year, nearly $450 million worth was transferred.

Some lawmakers, on both sides of the aisle, have questioned the program in the wake of the Ferguson unrest.

Obama said the program has provided some useful supplies to local agencies, including radios and equipment to respond to chemical attacks.

But he added: "I think it's probably useful for us to review how the funding has gone, how local law enforcement has used grant dollars to make sure that what they're purchasing is stuff that they actually need."

Obama said he thinks there will be "bipartisan interest in re-examining some of those programs."

Al Sharpton claims to be a Reverend. I would expect a real Reverend to say that one of God’s commandments is “thou shalt not steal” not there’s a “difference between robbing and shoplifting.”
