Now, that's just where Faith comes into play. God was there already, before the laws that we observe governing this universe where set into place.

Thats the easy way out, and you know it. Instead of asking valid questions, God is the answer to everything.

Nothing easy about it. It's hard to have faith when there are so many illusions that try to destroy it.

 

God doesn't have a creator. The laws that exist that make you think he needs one... do not apply.

 

Who's to say the laws require a creator, particularly if god is exempt from needing a creator?

I don't know. In our universe it doesn't appear so.

 

Your problem is that you think people who chose to believe there is a God has not thought about it. You are not the only that has thought about it. Even as I was growing up I question my parents heavily about why they chose their religion and ask very thought provoking questions. As I mentioned before I am not religious, because I believe religion is a way to control people, but I do believe there is a being/spirit or power, that cause all of to be, and wondrous universe and world we live in

 

Nice rebuttal. I say most Christians don't really question or scrutinise what they believe, they just accept what their parents taught them and carry on. To counter this, you say that you were raised Christian, as you grew older (but still young) you questioned your beliefs, and as a result rejected Christianity. Pretty much proved my point. They can't be broken?

The physical laws don't include one that says "everything that exists has a creator".

 

Was the opposite for me. I was raised non-religious, and it wasn't until my mid teens that I started looking for religion. Found Christianity, and then I bounced around with some kind of paganism. Now, to me, the spiritual understanding is a personal thing. I'd be classified as some kind of deist, though I still feel limited by my understanding of the language. I think Deist is the most appropriate, even if an incomplete description.

 

So, where did everything come from?

 

Did I say I was raised Christian? How do you know, I didn't grow up Jewish? You assume again. I don't reject Christianity, or all religions. Just because I question it, doesn't mean I am vehemently against it. I do believe religion is a way to control people. I do believe there is a power that created all things. So what point of yours did I prove?

I asked you why is it God requires no creator, but the physical laws do.

And your response was, since the physical laws cannot be broken, they must come from god.
