I viewed baller16 with sympathy, rather than hostility. That was easy for me because he never flamed me. What is more, I am naturally a kind and sympathetic person.

The bullies sensed baller16's vulnerability as I did. Because they are different from me, they attacked him because of his vulnerability.

 

I agree with the first part of what you say. My dim memory of undergrad work in psychology leads me to the same armchair diagnosis.

baller16's hostility came in waves. Not sure what caused his flare-ups. I never got much flak from him either, but when he flamed someone, he went way over the top.

You are a moderator and you don't know why baller16 was banned. I sure don't know.

In my humble opinion banning decisions should be explained. This would enable the posters to see how the Rules are interpreted. It would also dissuade moderators from arbitrarily banning posters they do not like.

The reason I keep bringing up past members is probably because I think they were more interesting than current members.

Some posters thought deidre79 was bi polar. A bi polar person goes from depression to euphoria, and back again. A depressed person wants to be loved and taken care of. A euphoric person is aggressively and sometimes obnoxiously happy.

deidre79 would go from charming to flaming. That is more symptomatic of schizophrenia. I think she had a mild case. She did not seem to have hallucinations. She did not hear voices. Nevertheless, she exhibited rapid mood changes and inappropriate emotions.

I have not heard from her for two and a half years. I hope she is happy. She certainly was interesting.

Why was deidre banned, that's a good question....ask Nophest, he did it....and as I wasn't a mod in those days her banning doesn't sit on my conscience. Why don't you ask the mods of that time why she was banned.
She can always come back as her profile is unbanned, as it has been for 2 years.

Do you mean identity theft as on the internet in general?........ or on XN?, if it's here we do as much as we can by trashing all personal info we find or is reported to us.
However it really falls back to the member who is silly enough to post their information and head shots on the net as we can trash it here but it still stays on search engines like Google forever.
