What would you do differently in your life, and how would it affect you if evidence of god was found?

 

I'm already convinced. I have faith, and don't need proof. Existence, and nature, are evidence to me.

 

The title under his user name is "Banned!". I don't know about xnxx, but most forums have a minimum post level before a user can change their title. On Literotica, a banned user's title is changed to "loves spam," by the admin. A little while later, the account vanishes.

I saw the order of nature. Insects behaving intelligently, fighting wars, reproducing. The circle and chain of life around me. At the same time, I realize that it's chaotic. The squirrel doesn't know about the hawk above it, and it was randomness that the squirrel came out of his hole at just the right time for the hawk to see it. Hawk gets a meal, squirrel dies. Then, months and months later, a rabbit is hopping along, starving, finds the squirrel's food stash. He eats it, grows stronger, and then makes babies with a female rabbit... and a few months later, one of those babies feeds that same hawk.
It's all randomness, that is brought to order, and I'm a part of it(as opposed to being above it).

Likewise, I took the information I'd gathered around me. I introspected into the source of my own being. Upon observation, I am nothing more than mostly carbon with a few dozen chemicals bouncing around. But I can think, and reason, and feel. These chaotic chemicals, some of them radioactive and poisonous, are ordered in such a manner that they think, reason, and feel.

So, where did this order come from? It seems to have always existed, and therefore did not come from itself. To me, the answer is god. Randomness has been ordered in such a manner that I get an individualistic experience of life. No one will live and experience things such as me. So one else will ever think the same way I do, mass of bouncing chemincals that I am.

That's what convinced me that there is a god, and is the source of my faith.

 

So you don't actually have faith, you have evidence that he exists.

I think all your evidence is perfectly well explain by other theories though.

 

I don't think it would affect my life at all, it would be interesting to know that there may actually be a god though. I'd be surprised that that of all theories was actually getting backed up. Like I said, I don't think the theory of god's existence has enough merit to be worth worrying about. I'm quite prepared to be proven wrong on that point, like all other theories.

The inability to see, touch, taste, smell, or hear it. At least, that's what I hear most often. As for me personally... nothing would convince me otherwise.

It's the "nothing would convince me otherwise." which separates you and I. There are things that are undoubtedly correct which I "believe" in. There are other things which I assume to be correct based on the best evidence currently available. However, if new evidence were to come along, and show me my previously held beliefs were incorrect, and a more robust, better explanation was available, I would drop them in a heartbeat for the more substantiated understanding. I'm not interested in defending my beliefs, they aren't sacred to me. All I care about is being right, if that means dropping something I previously held to be true, I'm happy to do so.

 

What is plausible is worth testing. I expect extraterrestrial radio broadcasts to be discovered during my life time, just as I expect it to be possible to estimate a person's IQ and criminal history from a DNA sample.
