Yes someone can record your webcam conversation while you are chatting back and forth that is true. To show it though and keep their anonymity well they would also be outing themselves unless they were able to silence their end of the conversation. It would really have to be someone unstable to do something like this and hopefully you have talked to them enough in pm or something first to determine before camming with them. People here do build trust and meet.
