It is pretty hard to answer that question without asking "which unanswered questions"? Most of the questions have been answered in a dozen different posts, some of you don't like the answers.

This is a free forum, owned by a anonymous person or persons, operated by an anonymous administer who has set a slate rules and moderated by anonymous volunteers who enforce the rules, as they apply to us anonymous users. It is not a democracy or a publicly held company operating under some code of fair play.

Perhaps you folks need to get used to it.

That's not facts, that's the opinion of a journalist......and it's 7 yrs old.

If you really want to know the real facts then contact the French Embassy, if you get up to date facts (2014) from them, then I may believe you.......but until then I call bullshit.

 

I doubt things have changed in seven years. I am confident that The Washington Post would not have printed this article if the reporter was reporting things she felt were true. I usually agree with Washington Post editorials. If The Washington Post makes a factual assertion, that should be regarded as the gold standard.

Feelings are facts about the person with the feelings, not about the objects felt. Facts are necessary for a rational debate.

I will not bother the French Embassy over this. It would not matter. You would still harass me. You would still feel this way about me:

I do not hate you. I just wish you would leave me alone unless you can contribute facts and reason to the important issues I discuss.

Think of all the factual assertions that get thrown around that are not true. A lot of people get surprised when I point out that more jobs were created per year under Jimmy Carter than Ronald Reagan, or that the stock market usually performs better under Democratic presidents than Republican presidents. I do more than any other poster here to document my factual assertions, and to compose logical arguments based on factual premises.

I would love to learn that Muslims in Europe have a lower crime rate than native Europeans. It would make me more optimistic about the future of Europe. I am confident however that Muslims have a much higher crime rate than native Europeans. Consequently, I fear for the future of an increasingly Muslim Europe.

Over the years I have learned that much that I would like to believe is not true, but that I am better off if I live in accordance to unpleasant truths then if I make decisions on the basis of pleasant untruths.
