  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

I have watched “Wild” about a woman who hikes the west coast trail between the Mexican and Canadian borders to overcome her demons in life. Great movie because hiking is a passion of mine and I can relate to the craziness of blisters, sores that take months to heal and such one endures when you push through the dedication of persistence for a passion.

I also saw “McFarland” a terrific movie filled with heart about a man who makes a difference in young boys lives by getting them to race and as a result they are the first in their families to go to university and break the tradition of poverty and slave labor. A feel good movie about doing what is right.

I want to see McFarland. The trailer looks great. I like all motivational movies. The Miracle, Remember the Titans, and Marshall are several of my favs.

The last movie I saw was the Sponge Bob movie ( took the kids to see it). Last 'real' movie was American Sniper.

I should show you the blisters I have on my feet now from trying to get back on my feet after a year and a half off, probably the biggest dam blisters you ever saw that is what 3 different doctors told me when I was visiting for something else and since I was there showed off them dam blisters and their eyes popped wide open, lol had the shock factor going. Yes I am determined to run my old hills by summer and be back hiking full throttle by fall. 1 1/2 years is way to long to be gone. Then there is my new mountain bike I bought in the fall of 2013 and never got to ride except a few short trips in town and I can't wait to take it up to the mountains where it is just me and nature and of course the rattle snakes I must jump over.... I live for that crazy shit and it is what keeps me young.

I see you are on the west coast too perhaps you just need a partner to hike with to get you started into it and once you do there is no turning back as it is very addicting. I love that endorphin kick though and also the way it makes my ass and legs look. :)

    WAIT!!! What?
    Did you walk the trail?

I love hiking and mountain biking. It's what I do when I need to get put of a funk.
It IS addicting. And I'm not fond of the rattle snakes and the thought of mountain lions either but so far I've only seen a few snakes and two bob cats.
    I love the mountains.
And yeah, if I ever would attempt the pacific trail, I'd be waaaaaay to scared to go alone.

Wait you love hiking and mountain biking? Well sir we need to get on a first name basis now. It's not only what I do when getting out of a funk but did on a daily basis just to clear the head after a busy day at work or to manage my stress. I never went for a beer on Friday night, I'd run the hills instead and get pumped and no hangover.

No I did not walk the Pacific trail, I just been going around here in these parts close to home and a few weeks ago I was in gorgeous Whistler, B.C. and last fall I was up in the breath taking Canmore Alberta mountains. I can cross the street from my home and be in the hills as this is prime great area for outdoor adventure I have right on my door step and folks in Vanc have to drive hrs to get this. I used to run the hills several times a week, yes trying to get out of the way of rattlers, mountain sheep, bears, wolves, cougars and more, that's half the challenge and keeps me alert. I saw snakes daily. If I go missing you may want to look on a mountain top for my remains, LOL..... that's no joke in these parts, lol.

I just tried to upload a picture of where I walked yesterday but the file failed probably to large to post. The snakes aren't out yet and the bears should still be sleepy too although who knows with this warm weather but there is to much mud and snow up high still so I stick to the flat now which is okay cause my cardio sucks after so long off but it will come back quick.

Tick season has started early this year, be careful!

I do hope to travel a little this year so maybe see ya on the trail ..... I wish I had fear like you but I am totally okay on my own on a trail. Sometimes being courageous is not a good thing but if that is how I go what a hell of a way to go doing what one loves.

Yeah! It's awesome being outdoors. But I do get afraid. It doesn't stop me, but I'm aware of my surroundings every second.
Never really came close to a bear, except in Yosemite once, where it was across across of the river, luckily.

But ehm...I'm not a Sir. Although my boyfriend might tell you otherwise, haha.

Just went on a long hike but no wildlife, although I could smell the skunks. They have their babies in the winter and they smell up the place so, so bad.

Running till I can't run anymore... Feels better than a beer, for sure.
Hey...nice to meet you here, Brandi.

Sorry everyone for hijacking the thread there for a moment.

Oh I am so sorry Dark Onyx, a female I won't forget that now! lol. Please forgive me. I should have looked at your profile.

We don't have many skunks around here but I have seen lots in Vancouver and it always shocks me when I am walking down the street in 2 million people and there dam it is a skunk, cracks me up every time, I do a double take. At home I have bears always around and they don't bother me as it is such a regualr occurrence here they especially like my peach tree and it is always a battle as to who gets them first in the fall me or the bears. I just have to be careful when taking the garbage out at night in the dark and stuff like that. I have come across a grizzly in Johnston Canyon once about 20 years ago when I was on my way to the ink pots, was such an experience, loved every minute of it.

Right now I am seeing squirrels and deer mostly and I hear the wood peckers and other birds.

Don't be sorry to hijack the thread, I am happy to meet another adventurist and health conscious person from the west cost. Cheers!

    Big hugs, Brandi

I just walked along the river and we are in between seasons so it is pretty bland looking right now.

That is no lake that is the Thompson River and you can see the beach on the other side which soon will be flooded when we get the mountain run off melt then as summer transitions it peaks then gets low again. The nude beach isn't far from there, want to go? haha.... Do the pictures come out decent from your end cause that is taken from my BB. I never seem to use my camera anymore but always have my phone with me.
