Definetly Star Trek, and I think the best TV incarnation was Enterprise.

 

Until it went off the rails with the time war and was cancelled.

 

I've always hated stories that included time travel (Dr who excepted because that is the premise of the show). I always thought Star Trek didn't handle it well. But I will admit that Enterprise was completely plausible as a reboot because of the next gen movie First Contact. Having the Borg crash land made for an interesting introduction.

 

Star Trek does time oddly because of all the different writers.


And time may be the premise of dr who, but that doesn't mean it isn't terrible

 

Not a Dr Who fan? I'll admit that I don't mind it, but i don't follow it all that much. What I've seen can be confusing if you don't know the back story, but otherwise it's interesting.

 

I couldn't get into it.

If I'm gonna watch a ball of cheese unroll.

Which incarnation is your fave?

 

I'm torn between TNG and DS9

 

I'm learning more towards DS9 because it's so diverse. They did a good job integrating it into the Star Trek universe.

 

It is also different from other Star Trek in that it was another production company, and it was the only incarnation that was more of a serial, where the story line flowed from one episode to the next. I never really watched it, but maybe 30% of the show.

 

My favourite is TNG. I like them all to a greater or lesser degree. TOS has an antiquated charm of its own, it really was an iconic show, DS9 was good, and I enjoyed the fact that there was a female Captain on Voyager. Enterprise was ok, but somehow not as engrossing as its predecessors - maybe it was the truly dreadful theme song that put me off. I haven't seen the rebooted movies yet, so I can't give judgement, but the fact that they're non-canon puts me off somehow.

 

Rod Stewart - Faith Of The Heart:

This is the original version of the song. I agree that this broke with the tradition of some instrumental theme song, but what I found to be sad was that they didn't even bother to have a new song written. It was always the time i used the lou, got a drink and some popcorn, or just turned the volume down.

I'm not really sure, but I've heard that there might be a new series in the works... You know how internet rumors are...

I've heard a few proposals for ST. One being set between Kirk and Picards time with a focus on the Romulan Cold War, and another set after the TNG movies, little info though. I do know there will only be one more JJTrek movie

 

I have to go with Star Trek, it was much more thought provoking and entertaining imo.
