As you are all aware, the rule for sexual characters is 18 years old. It is strictly enforced here in the forum. An 18 year old in third grade, who has not developed and still sleeps with toys is not going to fly and we will remove your story.

But there's more....

It was recently explained to us that if you write a story about an 18 year old, perhaps one who has graduated from high school, there is no way the 18 year old would be uneducated when it comes to sex. Our administrator is under the impression that 18 year olds are completely educated in the physical and emotional sides of sexual development. Even though much of the US is bible belt, kids in religious schools and our notorious lack of formal sex education in our public schools, our administrator feels that the child would not have questions about sex and would know exactly what is happening to their body. Because of that reason, stories will be removed, even though the fictional character is over the age of 18.

I'm warning our writing community, because I don't want any one to risk having a story removed. I hope I've made this issue a lot more clear and that you understand the consequences.

I'm sure your next question is: But what about the kiddie porn stories on the other site? I've repeatedly used the report button and am just now aware that it does not work. This would be why there are over 8400 stories in the "young" category. None of the stories are being reviewed, approved or removed, unless their links are sent to our administrator.

I was shocked! The first 6 stories I clicked on didn't have characters older than 13 and as young as....well, I'm ashamed to say. I am amazed this hasn't been a priority, considering how firm they had us be in the forum. I would have thought it would be a priority, but I guess unless the administrator is notified directly, the stories will remain, breaking the unpublished age rule. Please, if you see these stories, contact our administrator.

So there it is. I've tried to make the explanation simple, and I hope I've succeeded. Please be very careful not to have uneducated 18 year olds in your stories.

 

Apparently the age restriction rule has four parts, as I now understand it.

1. No sexually aware or active characters under age eighteen. No one under age eighteen has any sexual thoughts, feelings, desire, academic knowledge, or (gasp!) experience.

2. When fictional characters in a story wake up on the morning of their eighteenth birthday, they magically know everything about sex, even if they are virgins who have had no sexual contact with anyone. Sexual naivete cannot be displayed by characters age eighteen or older, because it's unrealistic.

3, First time, coming of age, and virginity stories are forbidden. Anyone age eighteen or older is experienced with all kinds of sex, while anyone under that age has no idea about anything. See parts 1 and 2 of this rule for clarification.

4. You may not write anything that may be misconstrued by someone from a different background, nation, or generation.

I believe entries on the story site are being monitored by the forum administrator when time permits. At one point others were helping with this job (like me) but when the owner decided to hide the rules on the sex stories site, but expected us to continue removing stories and warning or banning writers, we quit.

It would be nice (and logical) if concise, clear rules were displayed everywhere, but perhaps the guessing game is more entertaining.

 

I'm screwed by the 18 year olds must know everything rule. At least two of my recent stories fail that test.

While my educational system ensures I knew a lot of the mechanics of sex, I did a lot of learning through college and beyond.

Let me state my opinion clearly, that's total bullshit.

 

We must emphasize that these rules clarifications have NOT been posted on the forum or sex stories site by the administrator, so don't waste your time looking for them. In fact, no rules are displayed on the sex stories site at all and haven't been for almost a year. However, stories are being pulled that don't meet them.

 

Well I have to agree with Stex this is total bull shit.

Some fictional character of twenty one might not have had his imaginery knowledge of all the areas of sex spelt out before the naughty scene and you pull the story?

 

We can't make this shit up. WE (the moderators) won't pull the story, but someone might.

 

If you wrote that in a CAW, I wouldn't have voted for it.

Makes me wonder about setting up an alternative site. I like the people around here, but this makes me wonder if its the right place.

 

I for one, knew nothing of sex till I woke up on my 18th birthday. Then I knew all there was to know, and was magically no longer a virgin.

I also had my first ever taste of alcohol when I turned 21!

But I could still rape, mutilate, torture and kill an adult right? Good thing someone thought that out!

 

You can do all those things to an adult and wank over the corpse. That's all fine.

The issue with loss of virginity stories is that it CAN'T happen before a girl is eighteen, and after she turns eighteen, she can't be naive about sex. Hence, a loss of virginity/first time/coming of age story would be damn near impossible to write.

 

Sorry WSF no of course you wouldn't remove a story in that situation but the bogeyman is lurking in the shadows.

I know. Lets write musicals instead.

 

Great idea! Just make sure any sex involves adults who know exactly what they're doing. Maybe a musical about adult diapers would work.

I'm not a moderator but I believe the original post said a person over 18 can't be "uneducated" not "Inexperienced".
You can have an 18 year old virgin that hasn't experienced sex but knows about how things work.
I had a story that was pulled by a moderator and I deleted some things and re-worded some others.
I resubmitted it and it was ok'd.
Underage stories don't do it for me but then again, neither do incest or beastiality stories so I probably shouldn't be offering my two cents worth.

 

Whether we use the term uneducated, or inexperienced, or naive, the general meaning is the same. It's apparently "unrealistic" for an eighteen year old to not be knowledgeable about sex. Stories with such "unrealistic" situations might be removed.

This has go to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. The admin wants every story to be truly non-realistic.

I am beginning to wonder what world he comes from, because he can't be from earth with those beliefs.

 

Why not make it easy and just say that if a story or post regards any person under the age of 18 is against the rules?

 

Let me make this clear - the issue is that if they are 18, it is unthinkable that they would have any questions regarding their sexuality, therefore it will be believed that writer is hiding the fact that the character is really underage. You can write that your character is 18, make them fully developed, perhaps working a full time job or attending university. If they don't understand their bodies, reactions to stimuli, or have no idea about sex, you're probably hiding the fact that they are not 18. You may want to reconsider and stories that would include ex-nuns or priests.

I don't make this up. This is the way it was explained to the mods. I am just doing my best to make it clear for the writing community.

 

That would have to one of the most depressing posts on this forum. Does the dozy trout just want to close it down?
