Yup, the altruistic Warren "raise my taxes" Buffett.

Warren Buffet May Owe A Billion Dollars In Back Taxes

    8/31/14

Warren Buffett, President Obama’s pet billionaire, spends a great deal of time calling for tax increases on wealthy people. He began a recent New York Times op-ed, entitled “Stop Coddling the Super-Rich...”
Funny thing is, it turns out Buffett was being… shall we say… disingenuous when he claimed his “leaders” never got around to asking for his “shared sacrifice.” His company, Berkshire Hathaway, has been fighting the IRS tooth and nail to avoid paying its federal tax bill for nearly a decade.

How much of the State’s rightful money has this hypocrite been clutching in a white-knuckled death grip? Oh, only about a billion dollars or so.
    ----------------------

Then there's this from my thread here:

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/robertw...-now-warren-buffett-wants-irs-in-welfare-too/

He gave $2.6 billion to charity in 2013, and $2.8 billion in 2014. Big gifts went to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and other charities.

Was it cash? Of course not! The famously savvy CEO did it in stock, giving 21.7 million shares of his company’s class B stock. Valued at $128.98 per share, it reduced his holdings to $63.1 billion. $2.1 billion worth of shares (16.59 million of them) went to Bill Gates’ charity, the Gates Foundation.

Mr. Buffett is always careful to plan transactions efficiently so he pays less. Like a long term investment that pays off, perhaps there’s something satisfying in arranging a deal that is tax-efficient.

Kind of interesting I ran across a add for a grassroots fundraiser for Trump....
I wondered if he would do that......

In the letter to those seeing the site he said he would match dollar for dollar what is raised.........

Did I give....yep I did.....seems strange donating money to a billionaire however I do wonder
just how that deal does......I also feel sure I will start getting some juicy e-mails.............

You know, I have a feeling he would never have done this if he
was not serious about a run for the office...........

    Time will tell.....

Heading into debate, Jeb Bush stumbles again

    upload_2015-8-6_10-52-17.png

It’s been a rough week for Jeb Bush — and it’s not even half over.

On Monday night, he stumbled over a question about his father — a reminder that the son and brother of former presidents still struggles to give polished answers about his family’s legacy. He also struggled to explain how he would combat Islamic State forces in Syria. And on Tuesday, Democrats quickly attacked him for suggesting that he was “not sure we need half a billion dollars for women’s health issues” — a comment he then retracted and sought to clarify.

FBI investigation of Hillary’s emails is ‘criminal probe’

By Jamie Schram, Geoff Earle and Laura Italiano August 5, 2015 | 7:26pm

“It’s definitely a criminal probe,” said the source. “I’m not sure why they’re not calling it a criminal probe.

    ------------

And I got a chuckle out of this in a local "community" paper.

Hillary and Tom Brady: Something seems not right

Does it strike anyone else as odd that Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady can destroy a cell phone and be found "guilty until proven innocent" by the NFL, while a U.S. secretary of state can have her own private e-mail server while in office - including the time when a U.S. ambassador is murdered in an attack in Libya - delete 30,000 of those e-mails, and then run for president? Why would the media love to hate Tom Brady and happily take part in his crucifixion? And why would that same media broadly give a pass to Hillary Clinton? We know the answer, of course. Everyone loves to take down a winner, and there are few like Tom Brady. Clinton, on the other hand, is the abused wife of a dirty, philandering politician/husband, and on behalf of women everywhere, we owe her the most important job in the world. It's not complicated. But what's that got to do with having the executive experience or energy to run our nation?

Personally, I have no quarrel with having a woman as president. It's fine with me. Europe has had many accomplished female leaders, and frankly, we're overdue. But Mrs. Clinton? Is she really the best and brightest available?

Aces seems to think Trump is just playing games, running interference, shaking it up for a goof.

I don't know. Trump might be a lot of things, but he can't possibly be the sort who would take a year off just to play with the media. Time is money, and if Trump doesn't know it, no one does. Whatever he's doing, he's doing it seriously, and he's all in.

My question is: how many Democrats are going to watch the debates tonight?

I bet you'll see monster numbers from both sides. And they won't be tuning in to hear Chris Christie talk about the rhythm method.

In a way he is correct. Your country is in the business of Import/Export. That's how we maintain a stable GDP and keep our economy going in a global economic era. When your company/country is outsourcing jobs for cheaper labor, in essence it does hurt your business in the long run. America used to be in the business of making some of the best goods in the world. Now we are known for reality TV and stupid politicians.

Good point about reality TV. I only know the guy from his book, The Art of the Deal. Most of the boobs who've been bitching about him have seen him hamming it up on his TV shows.

I just heard on the radio that Jeb Bush called Trump an asshole. 'Tis a trifle uncouth and untoward, for he of the Ivy League Upper Crust. Whose numbers went up when Bush called Trump an asshole?

The United States could stand to be run a little bit more like a company.

We should start with counting our unfunded liabilities as debts, the way corporations must do. That would put the national debt at around $200 trillion and would put each and every American approximately $700,000 in debt. Then, we should send an invoice to each and every American family, for its liability.

    Would that wake us up?

    Doubtful.

But maybe we'd think twice about taxpayer subsidized solar panels, Obama phones, free birth control pills, and all the other bread-and-circuses rammed down the throats of the richest nation on earth.

It's going to take more than that to wake people up.
The fact remains though that the majority of citizens in this country are not responsible for the national debt. That blame lies solely on the politicians who intentionally screw us with bad policy to fatten their own wallets.
Most of our debt is caused by the 1% with all of the money, because they control the "free" markets.

Am I saying that wealth should be distributed evenly? No. If you legitimately work for and earn your money and pay your taxes, then you deserve what you have earned.

The fact remains though that most wealth isn't accrued by honest means. Many wealthy people gained their wealth on the backs of others whom they toss aside when it suits them.

    Vanity Fair JULY 30, 2015

The latest Quinnipiac University poll finds that Donald Trump put some more distance between himself and the rest of the Republican field, winning over 20 percent of likely Republican voters. Scott Walker and Jeb Bush are at 13 and 10 percent, respectively. But Trump also tops the poll’s list of candidates who Republican voters say they would definitely not vote for, with 30 percent of those polled saying they view him as a “no way” candidate.

That same poll finds that Trump would also, were the election held today, lose to not just Democratic front-runnerHillary Clinton (48 to 36 percent), but also Bernie Sanders (45 to 37 percent). Even Joe Biden, who isn’t running, tops Trump, 49 to 37 percent.

    Yeah. The 1%. Those bastards.

Approximately 50% of the people in this country pay nothing for Federal income tax. I assure you that the evil 1% do not qualify for the earned income tax credit.

Everyone gets entitlements, and entitlements cost money.

Look at all the shit over marriage. We've been fighting about marriage for more than a decade now. Why? Because it pays. Joint filings. Mortgage deductions. Dependency deductions. Yada yada.

If marriage were about love and nothing more, we wouldn't be arguing about it.

I'm against gay marriage. But I'm no homophobe. I tell my gay friends that I'm against their marriages, and by the third round they're agreeing with me. I'm against marriage period. ALL marriage. Because it costs me money. Level the playing field. Remove all the incentives. Make marriage about love and nothing more. Then I won't give a damn if people marry the goat in the barn.

But it won't happen. Everyone in this country-- EVERYONE-- is on the take, and they're all blaming someone else.

LOL, and Hillary's poll numbers continue to nose dive....

    Hillary Clinton’s Poll Numbers Collapse
    by John Nolte16 Jul 2015

Despite the best efforts of CNN and Brianna Keiler to give Hillary Clinton a series of softball questions that would allow the Democrat presidential frontrunner to clean up all her scandals and well-publicized ethical lapses, in the latest Associated Press poll, her favorability numbers have actually decreased since their last poll in April.
Clinton’s biggest problem is that just 3-in-10 voters see her as honest.

The mega-scandal around Clinton’s decision to wipe her email server clean after Nixon-ing thousands of emails is dwarfed only by the Clinton Family Foundation’s serial-ethical lapses and apparent corruption revealed by our own Peter Schweizer in Clinton Cash.

While the media has done its best to distract from the Clinton scandals with a month-long campaign of Todd Akin-ing Donald Trump, a public that now has access to the truth outside the media’s propaganda bubble through New Media hasn’t been distracted enough to forget the scandals, or that Clinton has yet to explain them to the satisfaction of anyone with any kind of moral compass.

The honesty issue is trickling down into other crucially important areas for Clinton.

Clinton’s favorability rating is a disastrous 39%, compared to 49% who view her unfavorably. That’s a full 8% increase in Hillary’s unfavorable rating since April.

Among Democrats, Hillary’s favorability dropped 11-points, although it is still over 70%.

A mere 40% of those polled said Clinton is compassionate; a mere 30% described her as honest.

Even on issues of leadership, Clinton slipped. Those who see her as inspiring slipped from 44% to just 37%. This is especially surprising given the historic nature of her candidacy. Other women have run for president, but Hillary is the first with a serious shot at winning.

On the issue of decisiveness, Clinton slipped from 56% to 47%.

Clinton also isn’t likable. On the public stage she is brittle, cold, and acts like a robot dealing with too much data. Although its wasn’t asked, she is almost certainly upside-down on the all-important question of whether or not you’d want to have a beer with her.

If Vice President Joe Biden stays out of the race, it will only be due to the $47 million Clinton has raised for the primary election. Everything else has to be telling him to jump in.

You are quoting an article found in Human Events. That is a right wing publication. It claims to get it's information from Americans for Limited Government.
    http://humanevents.com/2011/08/31/warren-buffet-may-owe-a-billion-dollars-in-back-taxes/

The ideological agenda of Human Events and Americans for Limited Government does not necessarily mean that these assertions are false. Nevertheless, until a publication like The Wall Street Journal agrees, it is most wise to withhold judgement. Anyone can find something on the internet they want to believe.

Do you know what the people who qualify for those credits do? They pump the money back into the economy.
What do people who amass wealth do? They sit on it. They find a way around paying the taxes on their money and ask for more tax cuts.
Credits for married couples arent what's hurting the economy. There is a reason the government gives them; To keep spending up and to make numbers look good.
Also; the number of people not paying federal taxes is no where near 50%. If those numbers were correct, then we would have no economy.

Also, I believe that the survey you looked at is going by people who haven't filed their w-2. Most of your taxes are paid during the year, and year end tax filing is only to determine if you owe any more taxes based on what you've paid through the year, or if you qualify for a refund.

At risk of being classified as a racist or even a crackpot, I'd vote Trump before Hillary every time. It is incomprehensible that Clinton will probably be the Dem candidate, how anyone can vote for the murderous bitch is beyond me.

I believe that we need someone who truly understands business in order to lead this country. The business of America is business. Trump understands business better than most but maybe a lil' short on diplomacy. He's a raider pure and simple. He is the best at what he does being a millionaire, being broke, and being a millionaire again and again. I may have to start a separate thread for this.
