Something a little lighter thios morning. What is your opininon on the subject of U.F.O.s? Are they real? Where do they come from? Friends or foes? What do they want? have you seen one?

 

I beleive that has got to be more than "HERE". There must be a world full of very closed minded people if we believe that nothing else in the universe apart from us. I also beleive in all things paranormal as well. I've had too many Experiences of Spirit for me not to beleive. Any one else out there with paranormal tales to tell. I would obviously like to think that visitors from another sphere would be friendly.

But what you have got to ask yourself is how "friendly" would our world appear to be to them.
Wars, Famaime, Terrorists, Cruelity. Don't think that our world gives a very good impression at the moment doe's it.

 

I think that I don't know. Much like God or Global Warming, I haven't seen enough yet to sway me in one direction or another.

However, for a bit of a laugh, I will paraphrase Douglas Adams and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. (which should not be confused with the movie of the same name that claimed to be based on the book. Obviously some one lied about that.)

Douglas says really, there is no life in the universe. Not even us. It is known that there is an infinite amount of space. Therefor the odds are that there's an infinite amount of planets in that space. There are not an infinite amount of planets with life on them. Since any number divided by infinity is so small as to equal no odds, you and I don't exist. Anyone you think you have ever met is really just a product of a delusional mind. :lol:

The man was a weird sort of genius. I hope he gets at least a few pitch forks in the ass for allowing them to make that movie, but the first 3 or 4 in the series are still bitingly funny.

That being said, I think it's likely there is life, but that space is so vast, and I mean really really big that contact is unlikely. Now, I mean so big that you take really really big and realize that your idea of really really big is really actually quite small and try to mulitply it until spinal fluid comes out of your ears and you still aren't coming close to the kind of overall biggness we're talking about here. Not to say it's not possible to traverse the distances, there's all kinds of things we don't yet know how to do, (nor do we even know enough about that sort of thing to even begin to suspect at the kinds of things we don't know,) but I really don't think that if we did, we'd travel all that distance to stick a probe up Skeeter and his cow.

However, you want to read a trippy book about how there may or may not be life in the universe, read Tom O'Bedlam by Robert Silverberg. It's sci-fi and not based on phsycis papers n'stuff, just really really interesting.

So to sum up, we'll see.

Hey thanks for completely confusing me my Zulu friend i watched a DVD on this very subject about 2 months ago. This hypothesis however was the first I had seen that gave a rather good and compelling argument in favor of these "dharacters being former Angelic hosts. Now I know that when the subject of Godis brought up, you can see the eyes roll and that is usually followed by audible groans if not outright mutiny. But what magde this so very well done was it was a 2 hr study conducted by a guy named Chuck Missler. Chuck Missler happens to be a scientist. He also is a commited christian that I have enhjoyed listening to for quite a while. Whoever in the secular community thinks that tyou check your brain at the Church entrance has never done an in depth study led by Missleer. Yes the Bible is the Text Book he uses because that is where trhe evidence is located. But he uses other teaching tools that validates hispoints as well as any other hypothesis out there. Two things that come to mind is that in Genesis there is a termused to describe a entity that is not human in origin. The narrative is describing a group of "visitors" that have made contacy t with the "daughters of men". these strangers are called The Nephtalim which translates to I think Giants. so there was another form of "life that was present on Earth that was in appearance anyway were very large human looking but not human beings. it goes onto say that these characters were taking the daughters of man as wives. Proof of the existance of a tribe of these giants is revealed throughtout the first few ch. of Genesis. The biggest giant of them all was involved in one of the seminal moments in Jewish history. The scene was a showdown between a young shephard boy named David. The soon to be quite dead giants name was Goliath.The reason I amgoing on and on is that there is proof of a tribe of wandering "giants" that were contemporarys of historical figures such asDavid. These guys were bad news apparently because of there size and somewhat animalistic behavior. thaty put the fear of God into all the people that lived there. Also interestingly enough these "Philistenes" tribe also had some apparent mutation that seperated them from anyone else, they each had 6 fingers and 6 toes on each arm and leg. what does it prove? Nothing. But it possibly is the missing clue to this whole riddle about whats out there and what do they want. renmember the Nephtalim who breded with human women. If the DNA werent exactly kosher the resulting children may be mutant in appearance..ok I'll shut up.

 

They are real. Oh come on, cant you see its all a cosmic joke anyway. Wouldnt other advanced beings at least have a sense of humor. Find some unsuspecting farmer in the middle of nowhere that no one is going to believe. Fly up, land, get out of the spacecraft, strut up and down infront of the poor guy then leave as if nothing ever happened. Then monitor our media to watch us poor idiots try to make sense of it. Actually on the lighter side of flakiness. I would not doubt that there is life in other places in our universe. I do believe in God, God according to my believe is life, so where ever God placed his handywork, life exsists. Thus scienctist are amazed at the diversity of life and have found it to survive in extrodinary places. Its God's sense of humor saying.. Yep bet you didnt believe I could do it did ya...LOL.

 

As usual, I have a problem with the word "believe". This isn't about belief, although some people like to think of it that way, it's about finding out the facts.

It's very likely that the Earth is not the only place where life evolved. It's very likely that there are other places where intelligent life has evolved (if you define life on Earth as "intelligent"). It's quite possible that the Earth has been visited or that there have been other efforts to contact us.

What ISN'T very likely, in my opinion, is that exterrestrial beings are trying to both visit the Earth AND hide themselves from discovery by Earthlings. And it's clear that there are few, if any, UFO sightings that are credible, reliable, and supported by many eyewitnesses or other tangible proof. As for U.S. government conspiracies to hide the evidence, I don't find that very credible either, since the extraterrestrials would likely have to cooperate in the conspiracy in order for it to succeed, an unlikely prospect, it seems to me.

So no, I don't buy it. But I do believe there's someone else out there, and I hope I get to see it proven in my lifetime.

If nothing else, it would require the rewriting of just about every theological text in existence, and that can't be a bad thing.

 

Ashley, I was thinking the very same thing.. Oh well sorry to have put my Belief's on here. Its just my opinion. There is no true ufo's , yes life exsists through out our universe, but that again is just my opinion.

 

I used it in the context of something being "very likely", not a sure thing. "Believe" always seems to me to connote certainty, and accepting something on faith, without evidence. It doesn't matter what I believe or don't believe, what matters is what I can prove or disprove.

 

This is one of those things that I have to see to believe. I'm sceptic but still open to the possibility.

Hi Ashley Barbie. Well it started out to be light but I should have known better..jUST A COUPLE OF POINTS TO FURTHER CLOUD THIS ISSUE believe 100$ that these visits are real. I also believe that those people that claim to have been taken "on board" may very well have been taken. heren is one of the cocncurrent activitys that seem to be the common thread in these abduction cases; these critters are very interested in our "make up" or DNA.The people who claim being taken almost to a person will describe painful or uncomfortable proccedures that always involve the extraction of mens semen and what I think are womens eggs. If my theory about their origins is true(most likely it's not) than it's just a continmuation of the same old things that they have been up to for as long as we have been here. I think they are fallen Angels that were kicked out of heaven when1/3 of all the Angels rebeled against God during the creation of everything. From that point forward there is plenty of eveidence written and quite possibly corpses of these galactic cowboys that will prove their origins point....Yeah ppretty hard to believe but from the beginning these things have tried to reproduce thenselves using our reproduction system which cannot support their structure.I think.
