You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

    Circumstances Beyond Our Control

Readers- Believe it or not, it actually takes a modicum of focused thought to do each post on Hope n' Change, and that simply proved impossible today owing to a personal situation which has now been successfully resolved. But rather than leave you in the lurch (as we like to say to John Kerry), here are some cartoons from the vaults which still have something to say about current (and sadly recurrent) stories.

Regarding the wave of accusations about "fake news," Hope n' Change thinks we all know how the game is really played...

    HNC nedua fact checkers.png

And Brian Williams is leading the charge against "fake news?" Really...?!

[M4M adds in an oldie-but-goodie from Chip Bok - tis the season, doncha know]

    Brian Williams next helicopter assignment.jpg

Meanwhile, as yet another parting gift from the outgoing president, Barack Obama has declared that our nation is still suffering from the effects of slavery. And he makes an interesting point, since by almost every available metric, things have gotten much worse for black Americans...over the last 8 years.

Okay, things haven't gotten worse for EVERY black family...

Ever the whining grievance-monger, Obama has never been shy about bemoaning "the blood of slaves" which courses through the veins of his privileged wife and daughters. But it was only in 2012 that a lone researcher surmised that there might be a scintilla of slave's blood in Obama. Inherited from his white mother's side rather than from Barack senior...

Meanwhile, Barry is criticizing Donald Trump for missing some daily intelligence briefings (a criticism which we find valid, by the way), and saying that a president is "flying blind" without those briefings. But why in the name of Beelzebub's blast furnace didn't anyone say that to Obama for the last 8 years?!

Some reports say that Barry skipped as many as two thirds of his intelligence briefings, including the one the morning after the Benghazi debacle. Instead of attending the briefing, he flew to Las Vegas for a fundraiser at which he compared the "sacrifices" of Democratic fundraisers to the sacrifices of four still-warm murdered Americans. The miserable rat bastard.

Good call on the "I'd fuck her though" but for me, her being a liberal Democrat just means I would still be able to tolerate her after I slammed one into her LOL.

On another point, clarise almost made sense in the above post but lost me at the trusting Assange part ...

The (NY) Times, they are a-changing on ‘rigged’ election claims

    12/14/16

Do you remember what the Bible of the alt-left, the failing New York Times, used to say about claims that the 2016 election was rigged?

This Times editorial I’m about to quote from appeared on Oct. 17, when the fake-news brigades were positive that Hillary was going to win.

The headline on the editorial was “Shameful Silence on Donald Trump’s Lies About Vote-Rigging.”

What say ye pajama boys of Donald Trump’s claims that the election might be fixed?

The Times called it “reckless rhetoric.” It was a “frenzied claim.”

Trump’s charges were nothing more than “outrageous accusations.”

The very idea of rigging the election — “pernicious lies.” Not to mention “bogus claims.”

    And also a “ridiculous notion.”

This is all from one editorial. C’mon Pinch Sulzberger and the all the rest of you metrosexuals, what should any responsible person do when confronted with these charges of rigged elections?

“First, they must reject bogus claims of voter fraud, which has been shown time and again to be virtually non-existent.”

But that was then and this is now. About that earlier editorial — never mind!

Last night on their website, the Sons of Walter Duranty and Jayson Blair had just a slightly different take on election-rigging in 2016:

“How Moscow Aimed a Perfect Weapon at the U.S. election.”

Wow! Is that a frenzied claim or what? What a difference 58 days makes! That, and Hillary getting her head handed to her.

In case you didn’t get the gist of this 180-degree turn by the failing Times, they are now claiming that the allegations of voter fraud that used to be pernicious lies etc. — now not only are all the charges true, but the rigging was accomplished with … “devastating effectiveness.”

You know, I can remember when the Times said that not denouncing any of the outrageous accusations was “like standing back while an arsonist pours gasoline all over your house.”

By the way, in that same unhinged editorial, the Times also went after Rudy Giuliani, whom they described as “Trump’s race-baiting surrogate,” for his assertions that massive voter fraud was occurring in the inner cities.

Odd, then, that the aborted Michigan recount has uncovered what are euphemistically described as “significant mismatch” problems in the city of Detroit.

In one Motown precinct, for example, the recounters had records that 350 ballots had been cast, but when they opened the box, they could only find 50 ballots.

The AP said “it was not immediately clear what caused the inconsistencies.”

Did I mention that Hillary got 95 percent of the vote in Detroit? Sounds like that old race-baiter Rudy was on to something. Do you suppose that’s why the Democrats in Lansing suddenly lost interest in a recount — because they didn’t want the extent of their fraud to be revealed?

Also recall that the alt-left media refused to run the WikiLeaks because they claimed they weren’t sure they were real.

Did these same hacks know if Donald Trump’s tax returns were real? Of course not, but they printed those anyway, didn’t they?

“Never before,” the fake-news Times concluded on Oct. 17, “has a major party’s presidential candidate openly encouraged this attack on the legitimacy of the electoral process.”

So on top of everything else, the Times has never heard of Hillary Clinton? All the fake news that’s not fit to print ...

Michigan Recount Uncovers Too Many Votes in 37% of Detroit Precincts

Green Party candidate Jill Stein’s Michigan recount unintentionally exposed major voter fraud in Detroit.

Election officials in Michigan found that 37% of precincts in Detroit tabulated more ballots than the number of voters tallied by workers in the poll books.

Hillary Clinton won Wayne County over Donald Trump 67% to 30%.

State officials are planning to examine about 20 Detroit precincts where ballot discrepancies occurred.

Yup, just mentioned that in my Howie Carr post. 350 votes cast with only 50 ballots. "David Copperfield was here!"

I know but do you really think anyone but me would read that wall of words you posted.....

The left attention span is lacking and would never have gotten to that point and
Michigan Attorney General is doing an investigation now also....

Wall of words? It was 555 words, approximately 5 minutes time to read for anyone with half a brain. Plus, it was an op-ed/humor piece. You don't edit those, cuz you take away much more in meaning than you do in words. Anyone who can't handle reading a 555 word op-ed piece should stay in their safe space and cuddle puppies and try to stay in the lines on their coloring books.

Ooooh lookeeee....this is what we have to look forward to for the next 8 years from the people who refuse to accept the election results. If Hill da Beast had won, you bet your ass, no claims of "election rigging" would go unstomped by the liberal whiners. But now that they've found that their polls were up their asses, it's gonna be a non-stop hissy fit.

Yet another example of the "Guilty until proven innocent" liberal education mob.

School officials need refresher on First Amendment

Adriana Cohen Wednesday, December 14, 2016

Who needs the Salem witch trials when you’ve got Babson College school officials throwing unfounded accusations of racism and homophobia at two of its students, then banning them from campus based on hearsay?

Babson officials should be ashamed of themselves. They didn’t bother to get the facts before attacking the young men’s reputations and traumatizing them for simply driving around neighboring Wellesley College with a Donald Trump sign post election and saying “Make America Great Again.”

Who knew an expression of free speech would have school officials engaging in a public character assassination?

When hearing allegations of misconduct, did school officials give the Trump-supporting students the benefit of the doubt? Of course not. That would take unbiased, responsible adults who value their students’ First Amendment rights.

Instead, Babson President Kerry Healey and school brass responded to allegations of slurs in an irresponsible knee-jerk fashion.

Can you imagine if Facebook and Twitter were around during the Inquisition? Babson school officials — including Healey — would convict everyone based on rumors and any post of the day.

How would you feel if your child was falsely accused of such behavior?

No Americans should have to tolerate having their characters assassinated for the entire world to see because thin-skinned liberals can’t handle two students driving around in a truck celebrating Trump’s victory.

Campuses today, once safe havens for free speech, have been hijacked by reckless agenda-pushing students — and in this case, the administration and faculty was too willing to play along.

I don’t care how you vote — this behavior is unacceptable. Period.

The two students should sue the school and Healey should resign immediately. Reckless administrators shouldn’t be running Babson. Responsible adults should.

I have no problem believing a country like Russia, who ran a state sponsored sports doping program for years before the whistle was blown, would be capable of trying disinform the US election process by various means! What I do have a problem with is, considering the millions spent on homeland security, that the US cannot guarantee the integrity of its own electoral process!

    Laughable!!

It's virtually a daily occurrence, where someone will express an opinion contrary to a position I would support.
But I would be among the first to stand up for their right to voice their opinion.
How is it possible for debate, and discussions to discover various truths to take place without the freedom to speak freely?
When "Free Speech" becomes impeded by censorship, plus potential punishments for exorcising those rights, the very foundations of societal interests are placed into jeopardy.
For an institution of higher learning to censor the inherent rights of free speech, not only imprisons students in a dictatorial school of thought, but it also undermines the very
    fabric of our society.
Those responsible for such outrageous actions, need to face the consequences of those actions.

I guess these folks forgot about the man that started the school and was named for.....

    ======================

Having amassed a sizable fortune, Roger Babson was not content to join the idle rich. Instead he shared his business knowledge to protect investors, and invested his own wealth in industries and endeavors that would benefit humanity. After witnessing a dramatic stock market crash and financial panic in 1907, Roger Babson expanded his investment practice to include counseling on what to buy and sell as well as when it was wise to purchase or unload stocks. Working with M.I.T. Professor of Engineering George F. Swain, Roger Babson applied Isaac Newton's theory of "actions and reactions" to economics, giving rise to the Babsonchart of Economic Indicators, which assessed current and predicted future business conditions. Although the Babsonchart has since proved to be an imperfect tool, through it Roger Babson earned the distinction of being the first financial forecaster to predict the stock market crash of October, 1929.

Babson College continues to be one of Roger Babson's greatest achievements. Remaining close to his initial conception of offering practical business and management instruction, the College now offers a graduate business degree and courses in executive education in addition to a four-year undergraduate business program. Roger Babson's success with Babson College led him to establish Webber College in Babson Park, Florida, in 1927.

Roger Babson's convictions also extended into the world of politics. In 1940, he ran for President of the United States as the candidate for the National Prohibition Party. Although the church-affiliated party was best known for wanting to outlaw vices such as alcohol, gambling, and narcotics, as well as indecent movies and publications, the party also advocated reducing debt and taxation, conserving natural resources, aiding farmers, and "assuring workers and consumers a fair share of industry's products and profits." Although Roger Babson knew his party would not win the election, he felt it was his duty to bring its moral and religious agenda to the nation. Out of a field of eight candidates, Roger Babson followed third behind Franklin Roosevelt and Wendell Willkie.
