Also, because economic inequality had grown dramatically during the administrations of Warren G. Harding and Calvin Coolidge, the economy had become dependent on the consumption patterns of the rich minority. When those people lost fortunes in the stock market, working class people who had been making luxury goods lost their jobs, so unemployment spread throughout the economy.

Calvin Coolidge had the opportunity to prevent that. He choose not to.

Coolidge cleaned up the rampant corruption of the Harding administration and provided a model of stability and respectability for the American people in an era of fast-paced modernization.

Along with being a pro-business conservative who favored tax cuts and limited government spending.

And no, Coolidge could not have prevented the Depression, no one, absolutely no one see it coming, yet however many, many times the 'lets blame it on Bush' housing crisis could have been prevented, because it was seen.

Coolidge's view of administration was that it should avoid harm rather than promote good. It was the job of the president to enforce the law as it stood not to change it.

Coolidge respected States Rights.

When stumbler said he did not like me I did not feel angry. I felt hurt.

There are a few posters here I wish would leave, but I value stumbler's presence.

I'm damn sure not happy with the majority of the GOP politicians, I never have been.

However, it damn sure wont stop me from believing in true conservatism...because I am allowed to believe in it.

Or you can believe there is no evidence Russia interfered in our election in favor of Trump.
