Does Arsene Wenger have a legitimate gripe, or is he just whining?

 

I think people know that Arsenal have a "soft underbelly" by now so they go in hard and try to put them off their game. It works quite often, so you can't really blame teams like Stoke for doing it. i mean, if they try to pass Arsenal off the pitch they're in for a beating, right?

But the real reason Wenger should shut up moaning is because the thing they lack is leadership, not courage. Gallas as captain? Do me a favour.

And Wenger had pots of cash available last summer and hose not to spend it. he could have got in a seasoned player or 2 that would have made all the difference. he chose not to and now he's reaping the consequences.

Life's hard, eh?

 

He's getting his excuses in early this season because he knows Arsenal won't (and can't) win anything this season.

 

I think if he can spend in the Jan Transfer window and get in a midfield general (and maybe an experienced defender) then he could still salvage the season, but I'd be surpirsed if they can win any sillverware. Maybe the FA Cup?

What do you think of the Cloughie statue in Nottingham?

 

As a Leicester fan I'm supposed to hate Cloughie. Thing is, I can't. He was a flawed genius, but still a genius. He's probably the most effective Football manager to come out of England ever, including Ramsey who I also admire greatly.

Cloughie just had such a way with his players. They might not have always liked it but he got the best out of them and they understood that he would. He knew how the crowd wanted to see the game played, too.

Probably most importantly he took no shit off any players or fans. it might be a physical game but you played it by the rules or the ref wouldn't need to send you off, he'd have you off and I know who I'd be most scared of.

Imagine Roy Keane if he'd had Cloughie making him play fair all these years. What a great player he'd be, and probably a much nicer bloke.

I think part of the problem with your club is that you got a taste of glory under keegan the first time and you've not realised that that was the freak occurance, rather than your present condition.

Expectation and hope are what's killing you all. If you support Leicester or Southend you get used to the normal shit times so you really appreciate any success you get all the more.
