  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

Maybe Flynn broke the law, maybe not. But the persons that leaked this information DID break the law. They should be found and prosecuted.
All the liberal appointees of the former president need to be gone.

The way it was handled does make him look incompetent and inept, so one wonders how he got to be a Lieutenant General.

His real fuck up was telling Pence a lie, that Pence later repeated on camera. If not for that, he'd still have a job. The question now becomes, why did such a smart guy make such a bonehead move? If Flynn is just stupid, that explains everything. If he's not stupid, this becomes the Trump administrations first internal hit job.

Who wanted Flynn out of the administration? There's two possibilities, Bannon and Pence. It could be one, or both.

One thing which has always held true about Inside DC Politics: when a leak results in a high level person losing their job, the leak is most likely an inside job and the sole purpose was to throw someone under the bus.

But why would Pence and/or Bannon want Flynn out?

Because, Flynn made it clear he would not support Trump policies on a number of issues. So if, lets just say Bannon who is all for war, torture, this country, against that can't force his agenda through Flynn, then get rid of him. So if Bron's suggestion is true, that would be one scenario.

Sources close to The Washington Free Beacon requested anynomity when discussing this fake news story with Distant Lover. Speaking off the record these highly placed officials explained that this news story had been planted with an obscure right wing website in order to anger those of Donald Trump's base who have the intelligence to operate a personal computer and cruise the internet.

"The Washington Free Beacon wants Trump's Deplorables to believe that liberal elites are trying to destroy Trump before he can bring back their factory jobs," explained an unpaid intern for The Free Beacon. She admitted that she intended to leave The Free Beacon and go back to college, complaining of a "hostile environment" on The Free Beacon.

"I thought fraternity brothers were bad enough," she complained. "Those jerks who write for The Washington Free Beacon think that because Trump is president they can grab my vagina any time they want."

Well folks we don't even have to fact check this to see if this is true or not. A simple question will do.

Hey M4M/Ace if what you are saying is true why isn't Flynn running to the press to expose the vast Obama conspiracy? There is certainly nothing stopping him now. And if he has the slightest shred of proof the right wing media would love to publish it.

So why isn't Flynn doing that?

The Obama Iran Deal conspiracy theory was made up for Trump supporters, not the opposition. Their goldenboy Flynn is out on his ass and no one in the Trump administration is going to take responsibility for it. The faithful base gets fed this totally implausible story about Flynn "knowing too much", so the Dems conspire to get him fired.

As if that would actually work. Maybe in some parallel conservative universe. It doesn't have to make sense because the intended audience doesn't require it to make sense. It's like they aren't even trying anymore.

I have tried to stay out of the dozen or so Mike Flynn threads for the most part, because this is like the Snowden mess: we know a tenth of what's really going on.

I've been reading the paper almost every day-- NYT as well as WSJ, and I still don't understand it.

(No surprise whatsoever that so many people who read nothing but FB News headines believe themselves to be well informed on this.)

I have only learned this morning that some of these alleged conversations between Flynn and Russian diplomats have been going on for at least a year: since long before the Trump camp were even convinced of their victory and the need for proposing cabinet positions.

So I still don't understand what the big deal is. This is certainly gradeschool amateurism aqd growing pains of the first order. And the CIA/NSA definitely need a major purge. Too many moles in the government.

One thing I do know, and I've said this before: we all knew the establishment was never going to go quietly into the good night.

I would be willing to bet that by now Trump is wishing he could have a do-over. He should not have asked for Flynn's resignation. He should have just said "no comment" and left it at that. Throwing Flynn's scalp to these people got him nothing, and now he can't have it back.

This is the establishment fighting back. Knew it was going to happen.

I'm sure you recall the big "government shutdown" that came about a few years ago when Congress called Obama's bluff and went along with his sequester provisions. Remember how the federal government stuck it to the American people by shutting down national parks, museums, libraries, and federal document services, while preserving trillions in hack pork and still managing to bloat the federal register by thousands of pages through the duration of the "crisis"?

That's when I knew that being anti-establishment takes blood and guts. (Figuratively, figuratively.) Trump has to toughen up. He has to take off the kid gloves and start knocking coconuts together.

    1. shootersa
      Right on target.
Shooter remembers at the time the shut down of the parks. His ranting about the impact on people waiting 10 years for a permit to run the Grand Canyon and how senseless it was, and how he was either shouted down by Obama lovers or ignored.
Only the revolution can stop this nonsense.

Here's what's going on. Flynn had some conversations with the Russians and when he was asked about it, he lied. He actually told a couple different versions of the lie, which was strange, because he didn't actually need to lie about it.

The Vice President went on TV and said, "Flynn is okay by me and I believe every word he said."

Suddenly, a bunch of people remember that Flynn really did talk to the Russians and it's on tape. Now the Vice President looks like a chump.

The President knew Flynn was lying, but took two weeks to decide he couldn't be trusted. Now the President wants us to believe the reason Flynn can't be trusted is because someone leaked the lies, not because he lied to the Vice President.

Apparently, a liar can be trusted, as long as nobody outside the circle knows he is lying.

I know this much. Everyone does by now.

And I've also read this morning that the NYT and Washington Post are taking claims for the scalp. (The notion of "people knowing about the lying being the inexcusable part" is a near-universal narrative, thanks to the saturation coverage of the soundbite.)

But I disagree with that whole narrative. Flynn allegedly had dozens of conversations, over the course of an entire year, on a broad range of topics that had nothing to do with sanctions. No doubt, thanks to wiretaps, it was childsplay to catch him up in a "lie."

And as far as I can see, there is nothing of substance even alleged, so I don't buy the notion that the NYT and Post get "credit" for the scalp. They tried to contain this. They tried to hold onto the guy. Because it IS about nothing. And it IS a ridiculous distraction. AMATEUR HOUR, as I readily concede. And PATHETIC. As I also concede. (sorry about the caps)

Trump isn't my boy. I voted for the guy. But I would have preferred Carson or Cruise. Ultimately I couldn't vote for Hillary, but my vote for Trump wasn't even a vote against Hillary. I don't giver her credit for it. My vote was not AGAINST Hillary. It was FOR antiestablishmentarianism. I like the idea of an iconoclast, breaking up the establishment. A fools' hope? Maybe. I don't think Trump or anyone else can dial back the bureacratic monster we've created. Trump no doubt will be a disappointment, but so is every other president I've ever voted for.

Sorry, no bonus points are awarded for liking Trump or Cruz.

Imagine your wife told you a lie, which you quickly revealed. Then she confesses the truth, but gives an implausible reason for lying. You know she's still lying, but hopes you'll be satisfied with her latest version of the story.

Flynn's scalp is in the pocket of someone in the administration. This silly idea that the NYT or WP claim scalps just plays into the Trump narrative of the media being the enemy, and our current generation of conservatives are just that gullible.

Trump did not have to fire Flynn, at least not for the stated reasons. Trump just hopes his supporters will be happy with the latest version of the lie and not bother him about it.

As for breaking up the establishment, Trump is the establishment. How much money have you ever spent on Trump products?

Obama didn't cost you your health care plan. Greedy insurance that hedged their bets on the ACA never passing did, and then to keep on fucking their customers, cancelled them lying stating Obama made them, just to rewrite even bigger ass ram policies while telling folks, "well, either by this comparable plan at more money and a higher deductible, or go buy ghetto ACA insurance and then you'll really be fucked. Lie after lie, after lie. You have been duped by big insurance.

    Hush....an alias

Dear God; have you gotten so confused you forgot the facts?
That Obama knew when he made the statement "you can keep your insurance .........." was not true?
The insurance companies, under ACA have to offer insurance within certain pricing guidelines to avoid the so called "Cadillac Tax" rule. Their actuaries tell them, with the mandated coverages under ACA the only way to stay under the line is to increase the deductibles.

It is perhaps the most damning fact of Obamacare; in so structuring what Insurance companies had to offer, and limiting what they could charge for it, they forced Americans to buy coverage they could not afford to use.

And now you demonize insurance companies in your quest to demonize all that is Trump.

    1. Hush
Wrong, I'm tired of explaining it. You forget that we were all there too.

Well, it's hard to imagine you remember correctly.

Obamacare was all Obama's; his administration wrote it, his administration jammed it down our throats, and his administration managed it for 8 years.
How it now becomes the Republicans fault, or Trump's fault, or the insurance companies fault, but not Obama's and not the Democrats, leaves Shooter speechless.

We are truly fucked. We have become so polarized we cannot even agree on basic facts.

Oh their day of reckoning is coming.... And that reporter for the Washington post better have some soap on the rope on hand as well.

The leak of Flynn's conversations is a crime

Someone in the government committed a serious crime. Indeed, it appears that several people did.

Those individuals had special access to the content of telephone conversations between President Trump's now former National Security Adviser Gen. Michael Flynn (ret.) and Russia’s Ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak. Those discussions were secretly recorded by American intelligence agencies. The tapes are classified documents.

Whoever conveyed the information contained therein to the Washington Post committed a felony. The Post reporter, David Ignatius, who published the classified material may also be prosecuted, but he should not be.

    Prosecuting the Leakers

    18 U.S.C. 798 states as follows:

“Whoever knowingly and willfully communicates…to an unauthorized person, or publishes…any classified information obtained by the processes of communication intelligence from the communications of any foreign government, knowing the same to have been obtained by such processes shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.”

It matters not that the leakers intended to reveal a deception by Flynn. The law’s intent clause refers only to the intent to reveal. Any underlying motivation to serve the public good by disclosing a lie or misrepresentation is of no legal consequence under the statute.

Ignatius describes the person who first told him of Flynn’s recorded discussions with Kislyak as “a senior U.S. government official.” That person committed the crime stated above.

But we discovered that others were also engaged in the same criminal activity when the reporter revealed, in a subsequent story, that the conversations were corroborated by “nine current and former officials, who were in senior positions at multiple agencies at the time of the calls” and who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters.

The only question now is the identities of any or all those individuals. Who had access? It could be a large group.

The collection of signals transmitted from communications systems as “signals intelligence” is known by the acronym SIGINT. The National Security Agency collects and analyzes the information. But any of the 16 other agencies that make up the U.S. intelligence community may have gained access to the Flynn-Kislyak conversations. Many of them likely did, given Ignatius’s reference to “multiple agencies” as his sources.

    Prosecuting the Reporter

The law draws little distinction between the leakers and the recipient who publishes the classified information. Assuming the leakers will not reveal themselves, the government may feel it has no choice but to prosecute the only person whose name is known. That is, the reporter.
