Well, the last 3 weeks have been really difficult.......and that is a MASSIVE understatement! About 3 weeks ago, my beautiful wife of 35 years.....we got married in 1982........was diagnosed with highly invasive breast cancer. Wednesday......3/1/17.......she underwent total mastectomy of her right breast. Where her right breast use to be, she now has an incision (with staples) stretching from just under her right armpit almost all the way to her breastbone. She is completely devastated......both physically and emotionally.

She was just released from the hospital yesterday morning. She is back home resting......currently sleeping in her recliner.......... and I am taking a week off from work to look after her. She is doing about as well as can be expected, considering what she has been through. This morning I found her standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom, and she was crying her eyes out. I asked her if she was in pain.....after all, she had just had major surgery and pain is to be expected. She said..........."No, I am not in too much pain".............I then asked........"Then why are you crying?"....................She responded.........."Because I am ugly".

I don't have to tell you that I felt like I had been kick in the gut! I took her in my arms........VERY gently mind you, because she had just had surgery............I then gave her a kiss and I told her........."You are more beautiful today than you were the day I married you! I could give a DAMN about how you look on the outside. I married you 35 years ago because you are a beautiful person on the INSIDE. And your inner beauty is all that matters to me." She then broke down in tears.......and so did I! We both had a good cry, I guess you could say. I love this lady with all my heart, and yes, she is truly a "lady" in every since of the word! I will love no other, ever!

Why am I posting this on a porn site you may ask? My response to that is......why not? I have been posting about my wife's condition everywhere else.....facebook.....twitter......etc etc etc. Might as well post it here as well, no? If the mods feel that this post doesn't belong here, than by all means......feel free to move it! I don't care!

And no, my wife is NOT a member of this site and she never comes here. She doesn't even know this site exists! But that is beside the point. I would just like to end this by saying...........if you are a person of faith, then please pray for us. She will begin chemo in 3-4 weeks, and it is going to be a VERY difficult road. Thanks!

How much you comfort her with your words of love, a breast amputation may well affect her self esteem for the long term. It's way too early now to even think about that next step, but after she has recovered and her therapy is done, you might consider an implant.

She will have a long road to recovery , you both will, you need to support her in every way and tell her" you love her and need her every day"
She will bare the scares , both physically and emotionally ! you need to be there for her as much as you can!
This is not the end, it's really the beginning !

He treats me has he did before, well maybe a little different but , he was so afraid of losing me, and I of him! so be sure you tell her you love her every day! And that you need her ! So truly heartfelt. I want to let you know how truly amazing you are for being that type of support and have the kind of love you do for her. So touching to see in a day and age where people are so shallow to think someones looks makes them who they are. The beauty....true beauty is in the heart and soul. I have no doubt in my mind you will fight like hell to make her see that. She is truly blessed to be alive. That it was found before it was to late. There are so many traits that make a woman beautiful. Her fight and strength for living makes her so beautiful. Eventually everyone's looks fades. It's the time....seconds, minutes, hours and days that so many memories were made in. The love you give and receive. That's all that truly matters. I've been there and she's still here. My only fear was the thought of losing her, nothing more. The hardest thing so far for me in life, was watching the person I love hurt and there was nothing I could do to make the hurt go away. All I could do was be there for her and show her how much I cared and loved her. Good bless you.

 

Don't let cancer make you hide behind scars. Stand tall and show you don't care. My mom died from cancer 7 months ago. So I hate cancer and everything it takes from us all.
