  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

Whilst logged out I noticed DL being civil in his responses. Now I am logged in and can't respond to him. So here:

Magadalen: yes, agreed, nowhere in the Bible is she even hinted at as being a whore. It is a popular confabulation, and to my mind a reasonable one. Single women in those times did not last for long, and proper single women certainly didn't hang around with multiple single men. The legendary Molly Malone (of Ireland) may have been just a fishmonger, and not also a whore, but Dubliners assume she was a whore and refer to her statue as "The Tart with the Cart." The Molly Malone confabulation is reasonable, too.

Mary as Chaste unto Death: Yes, never explicitly stated. But it is assumed, and it is Catholic Doctrine. Her chastity is supposedly the condition whereby she alone of all mortals is a pure chalice, entirely clean and free of original sin. This claptrap doesn't appear in the Bible anywhere, but it is enshrined in doctrine in the Apostles' Creed ("...born of the Virgin Mary and became man..."). I recall learning in a history course that all of this crap was absorbed by the church as part of its effort during the middle ages to merge and reconcile with a huge upstart faith called the Cult of Mary. Followers were worshiping her as an idol, above God and Christ. The Church could either mend the divide between them and absorb them, or kill them all (as they did many other cults of the time, such as the Albigensians of France). The Church absobed the Cult of Mary, but remnants of it persist in Church teachings to the present day.

Mary was not chaste unto death as she had other children of which James, brother of Jesus was called the "bishop of bishops, who rules Jerusalem, the Holy Church of the Hebrews, and all the Churches everywhere. He was one of the deciples told to go forth and preach The Gospel onto The World.
The catholics picked the books/people that they wanted to give their view of the Life of Christ.

Jesus had at least six siblings. These included his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas as well as at least two sisters. (Matthew 13:54-56; Mark 6:3) Those siblings were natural children of Jesus’ mother, Mary, and her husband, Joseph. (Matthew 1:25) The Bible calls Jesus “the firstborn” of Mary, which implies that she had other children.—Luke 2:7.

    Good post, Ed.

And yet... Catholics are supposed to believe that Mary died a virgin. The notion that Jesus had sibs by Joseph and Mary is one of the points on which Catholics and Protestants diverge. This also diverges from the Bible itself, as you and others have pointed out, yet there it is. The Roman Catholic Church diverges from the Bible all over the place.

According to Catholics, "Immaculate Conception" means not only that Mary was born without original sin, but that she remained a clean, pure vessel all her life. Strict Roman Catholics are supposed to believe that she didn't even get sick as normal people do. And I suppose, if we extrapolate the Biblical connotation for feminine "cleanliness," Mary didn't even menstruate. Yet she gave birth! Miracle!

For Roman Catholics, it is a heresy to assert that Jesus had sibs by Joseph and Mary. Here's a good link on it:

I had said james was his brother but I dont think I learned that in church.....
as far as all the others I wonder about that....

The book of james is one of the best......read it sometime.....
very short and powerful book...just a few pages...

    Faith without works is dead.....

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this:
Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry

    For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant;
its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed.
the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business.

For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you?

Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds,
they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.

So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things.
How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire.

That is such a beautiful piece, always melts my heart and seems to be across the board in all religions, spiritual cults etc but all written just a little differently but with the same intention. It's good that you are reading it since you are always so quick to get mad and tell people to fuck off inappropriately.

As a political activist, he was fairly radical against people who said the same things as him, like the Parisians, and weak when dealing with powerful people : "give to Caesar what belong to Caesar" which explain why the Christians didn't take part in the War of Judea.

The idea of getting rid of the Merchants at the Temple is silly. It's like sacking all of Tesco's employees.

He was an ascet, first and foremost, because he was brought up by his cousin John the Baptist. So he would wash, eat very little, have a healthy lifestyle.

But we don't actually have a clue what he was really like , all we have are stories written after someone decided he would be the catalyst for another religion , long after he'd gone.
So we have are stories that tell us about a man someone later decided would be a role model as the "son of god", telling us what they wanted us to believe.

Had the catalyst come at another time and place , we might just as easily have Alexander Christ in exactly the same story.

Here's an exercise for a comparison.

When your out socialising with a group (preferable including at least one gossip) tell a brief invented story , including hints of there might be something salacious , a bit kinky , a bit naughty , without actually saying what.
Then go away for a week or two.
When you come back , go out socialising again and see what the story has become.
note: if the subject doesn't come up , raise it innocently ,
like , " anyonehear anything about such n such ?"
    "I heard , , , . . . "
You will be gobsmacked at just how different the story has become.
( now imagine coming back in a 100 years time , and imagine what the story will become)

There's supposed to be something about Jesus in the bible when he was a boy but then there's no mention of him till years later as an adult.
Some say he spent time studying with monks and mystics throughout Pakistan, India, and Tibet. And some of those traditions include the religious use of cannabis. That's where he learned to cure those with demon possession, (epilepsy) with holy cannabis oil when he was spreading love and peace. He also helped the blind (they actually had glaucoma) see again by the cannabis-infused anointing oil.

    Jesus was a stoner!

Jesus never travelled beyond a thirty mile radius of his birthplace. And the closest thing they had to marijuana was myrrh.

A Chinese emporer referenced marijuana in 2900 BC. By 1500 BC the Chinese were using it medically. The book of Exodus mentions a holy anointing oil circa 1450 BC made partly from extracts from cannabis. Records from about 1200 BC show the Egyptians used it to treat glaucoma, among other things. By 1000 BC it's use had spread to India, in the 700's BC it is mentioned in Persian texts, in the 200's BC it is mentioned in Greek texts, and by 1 AD the Chinese had listed it as a treatment for over 100 ailments.

As has been stated by others, I believe he was a very excepting and very open-minded Man and therefore, I do believe he was bisexual however it is noted that he live to be 33 years old and never married. So possibly he was gay?? But really who the fuck cares and if he was gay I bet you his disciples serviced him quite well. I would like to party down with Jesus Christ if he were here on earth today.

The truth found in the pages of the Christian Bible is open to interpretation by some religions and believed to be absolute to others. Which is correct? It doesn't seem to matter. What you as an adult who is capable of free thought believe is what matters. The fault is in stating your belief is absolutely correct and to believe otherwise will lead to damnation.

This is a little off topic but apparently an older version of the Koran was found in Yemen a couple decades ago and it is different from the present Koran.

We never hear about this anymore as it has been conveniently forgotten .

It appears that all faiths play this game
