Trump--I will end President Obama's totally illegal order that allows dreamers to stay in the country.

Well just about like everything else Trump promised to do I told you so that it was total bullshit.

Trump Allows Dreamers to Stay. Why?
The president shrinks again from deporting Dreamers.

In April, President Donald Trump said that Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, the 2012 federal program to protect undocumented "Dreamer" immigrants who arrived in the U.S. as children, was a “very difficult subject for me.”

It appears that Trump was telling the truth.

Trump's administration has largely translated his presidential campaign's hostility toward immigrants into government action. Efforts to impose a ban on travel from Muslim-majority nations have been comically inept -- but persistent and seemingly heartfelt. Likewise, federal immigration agents have grown more aggressive, and less discriminating, in their pursuit of deportations. Even long-resident immigrants with American citizen children (and expert legal representation) are not safe.

At a congressional hearing last week, Thomas Homan, acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, was explicit in describing the climate of fear his department seeks to create. "If you are in this country illegally, and you committed a crime by entering this country, you should be uncomfortable, you should look over your shoulder, and you need to be worried," he said. "No population is off the table."

To that end, the administration last week rescinded a 2014 plan to grant work permits and reprieves from deportation to potentially more than 4 million parents of U.S. citizens and green card holders. The plan had been stymied in court. But the move was nonetheless another brick in the anti-immigrant wall.

Yet supporters of immigration restrictions couldn't help noticing that, once again, the Trump administration had failed to strip almost 800,000 Dreamers of the legal protection they had won under President Barack Obama's 2012 executive action. A post by the Department of Homeland Security stated: "This rescission will not affect the terms of the original DACA program as outlined in the June 15, 2012 memorandum." It added: "No work permits will be terminated prior to their current expiration dates."

Obama's DACA plan had pushed the limits of executive action. Ever since, immigration restrictionists have been howling about what Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, on Twitter, called "lawless Dreamer amnesty for illegal alien children and adults."

Yet Trump has renewed Dreamer work permits and even issued some new ones. One day after the DHS post, DHS issued a written statement: “The future of the DACA program continues to be under review with the administration,” it said. “The president has remarked on the need to handle the issue with compassion and with heart."

Compassion and heart have not been lodestars of Trump administration policies. Nor are they high priorities for his base voters. As David Frum wrote at the Atlantic: "Exactly why Trump betrayed his most ardent supporters will be a study for reporters and psychologists. Was it the influence of his daughter and son-in-law? The advice of his pollsters and political strategists?"

The answer is unclear. Some immigration advocates suspect Trump fears that rescinding DACA would make life too difficult for moderate Republicans. "If they eliminated DACA I really think you'd have a major outcry of unified opposition from the public and it would put major pressure on Congressional Republicans, governors, state/local elected officials," emailed Tom Jawetz, an immigration expert at the liberal Center for American Progress. "It could further tear apart that already damaged party."

Marshall Fitz, an immigration expert at the Emerson Collective, wrote in an email:

First, Trump has been lobbied internally about the harsh political optics of going after DREAMers. Second, he has been persuaded that he can still feed his base’s mass deportation agenda while making this accommodation. Third, all his talk about the program’s illegality was just politically incendiary rhetoric; he has no view, vision, or basic understanding about constitutional constraints. So he has no ideological or intellectual commitment to rescission. And lastly, I doubt he has the stomach for going after kids en masse.

It's that last possibility that is so intriguing. Trump told the Associated Press in April that his administration is not pursuing Dreamers and that "Dreamers should rest easy.”

He's not actually willing to ease the stress on Dreamers by declaring them truly secure. But Trump so far has also been unwilling to rescind their work permits and hopes for staying in the U.S. He appears torn between a crude promise made to his political base and what looks very much like presidential pangs of conscience. Imagine that.

They are not going to be announcing, like they did at Carrier, that they are closing up and moving to Mexico.”

In December, Trump took notice of an industrial-bearings manufacturer’s plan to lay off its Indianapolis employees:

Well, not exactly. In late March, as noted by the Los Angeles Times, the company nevertheless started the shuttering process.

On Thursday, it was reported that the closing is coming in September. Plant union president Don Zering told the Associated Press that production by the remaining 110 workers goes on only because factories in Mexico and McAllen, Texas—quite close to the border—aren’t yet prepared to do the work.

In January, Ford, the second-largest US automaker, pulled back on its plan to build a new plant in Mexico for the next generation of the Focus, a small-car model, a move that came after criticism from the president-elect. The new Focus instead would be manufactured at an existing plant in Mexico, Ford said.

On June 20, Ford announced it will build the new Focus, not in the US or Mexico, but in China.

There was no response from the president. He left that task to his Commerce secretary, who added a new optimistic twist in the face of the disappointing news.

“The Ford decision shows how flexible multinational companies are in terms of geography,” Wilbur Ross said. “I believe that as President Trump’s policies and reforms take hold, more companies will begin to locate their facilities in the US as several German and Japanese automakers already have.”

The Detroit Free Press observed that Ross’s cheery statement “lacked any of the bellicose remarks made by candidate Trump about what he would do to manufacturers.”

So no worries, America. It turns out the world is a complicated place that requires subtlety to navigate. The White House is on it.

Paul Pelosi Jr. is an investor and co-founder of Natural Blue Resources, which in 2014 was charged with securities fraud by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Trump--We have to make the U.S.A. RICH again so that we can afford to pay Social Security, Medicare,and Medicaid and STRONG to keep our enemies out

As a candidate during the 2015 GOP primary process, it was a theme he returned to. When former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee also stepped up with a promise to protect Social Security and Medicare, Trump claimed total ownership of the pro-entitlement position — vowing specifically to defend Medicaid as well.

Trump--I was the first & only potential GOP candidate to state there will be no cuts to Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid. Huckabee copied me.

Trump--Huckabee is a nice guy but will never be able to bring in the funds so as not to cut Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid. I will.

Trump portrayed this issue as a key differentiator. Defending Medicaid was a central plank of his pitch for American greatness.

Trump--The Republicans who want to cut SS & Medicaid are wrong. A robust economy will Make America Great Again!

He even specifically referred to Ohio Gov. John Kasich as being excessively right-wing on the Medicaid issue.

Trump--I am going to save Medicare and Medicaid, Carson wants to abolish, and failing candidate Gov. John Kasich doesn't have a clue - weak!

Now, of course, Trump has lined up behind a Senate health care bill that features draconian cuts to Medicaid:

First, it cuts reimbursement rates to Medicaid expansion states, slowly phasing out federal support for the new enrollees.

Second, it ends Medicaid’s open-ended commitment to covering the health care needs of eligible patients — sticking states with per capita spending caps.

Third, it adjusts those payments over time to ensure that the money available per patient grows more slowly than the cost of providing medical coverage. Each year, a wedge will steadily open wider and wider between the money available for medical coverage and the cost of providing it.

Kasich says he thinks the cuts go too far. But Trump himself doesn’t tweet about Medicaid anymore. He just keeps saying that “Obamacare is dead.”

That’s not really true, but even if you think it is, it’s true Medicaid certainly isn’t dead. But the Senate health care bill will kill it, and will do so in order to finance a large tax cut for wealthy people — something Trump’s economic team also promised not to do.

but they are going Mexico , basically.

Not only that , but Carrier received a huge subsidy , er incentive , to keep the US plant open ,
with the reduced employee numbers.

Effectively , paid to let 6 - 700 jobs go south of the border , might be one way of looking at it.

However you look at it ,
it's a huge fail ,
and another example of his alternative facts ,
delivered in person by him ,
actually on site in front of the employee's ,

WASHINGTON — President Trump dines at his hotel, golfs at his clubs and weekends at his resorts. On Wednesday night, he will keep the tradition alive, hosting the first fundraising event of his re-election campaign at the Trump International Hotel near the White House.

The money raised will help underwrite two joint fundraising committees with the Republican National Committee — Trump Victory and the Trump Make America Great Again Committee. RNC officials say the event is expected to raise about $10 million, and 300 donors will attend.

The decision to hold a fundraiser at the Trump venue has raised alarms from ethics lawyers, who have repeatedly criticized the president's decision to retain a financial interest in his global real-estate and branding empire.

Trump's fundraiser at his Washington hotel doesn't break any laws, but gives him another chance to "exploit his opportunities to promote Trump properties," said Kathleen Clark, a law professor who specializes in government ethics at Washington University in St. Louis.

Businesses owned by Trump made more than $14 million off his 2016 campaign, according to a Bloomberg analysis. And he has mingled official business with his presidential duties from the start of his term, hosting foreign leaders at his Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago, which he has dubbed the Winter White House.

Income at the Palm Beach resort, surged to $37.3 million between Jan. 1, 2016 and spring of this year, according to Trump's recently filed financial-disclosure report, a 25% increase from his previous disclosure.

The donors, who are paying as much as $100,000 to participate in Wednesday night's event, may have some company.

Several liberal groups, including Public Citizen, are urging their supporters to join a protest outside the hotel to oppose efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act and other Republican policies.

You really do live in an alternate reality with your own alternative facts in your own little plastic bubble @shootersa which I will address further when I get time. But all the profits go directly into Trump's businesses or in other words straight into his pockets. Including the taxpayers paying the rent for all his secret service protection at his hotels and resorts. More money in just six months than what President Obama averaged in 8 years. Its all on this thread shootersa but of course you can never allow yourself to look at actual facts because it would burst your little plastic bubble.

Yeah that is the same thing Trump supporters are saying about Trump tweeting a video of him attacking a man with a CNN logo for a face at a pro wrestling match. But there are three problems with that. One is it makes a liar of Sara Huckabee Sanders claiming Trump never advocates violence. Second, it is unknown how many taxpayer dollars it cost to produce it even though it was copied off Reddit. And third there is nothing more fake than pro-wrestling. Which just reaffirms what a fake president Trump really is.
